If my memory goes right I stumbled on to this one. Looking for christmas songs at Burma Bazaar in Chennai erstwhile Madras way back in early eighties. Some one sold a casette boney m. It was titled Christmas medley.
All songs were good. This was the last one. And what a song it was. It did not sound spritual. Yet brought the mood of Christmas.

i had this opening rhythm in my head for months maybe years...i remembered dancing to it as a very young child at christmas. now i've finally found it. my sister said boney m, so my mom checked her boney m christmas CD, but THIS song is only on the vinyl, so she checked it and lo and behold here it is!!!
