  • all these dumbasses talking about Harley motors.... none of them seem to remeber that Harley took their design for the V-Twin from the same designs that were being used for the aviation engines at that time....instead of a comletely circular airplane engine they designed theirs with just 2 of the cylinders...that's where the angle pitch comes from, that's why the crank pins are the way they are.... they figured if the design was reliable enough for an airplane that it should work fine for a bike

  • @shovelniron ....cont.... that's why the damn points are where they are...if you just circled the case with cylinders it would be a vintage airplane engine..... that's just like saying because we make F-16's that the old WW2 fighters were pieces of shit...bullsh*t... you don't ride them because they're new you ride them because they're badass...and anyone who thinks diffrent is a F**king homo.... why are the metric fags even watching anyway... Harley History 101 bitches!!!

  • @shovelniron BTW??? nice bike and what shocks are you running? they look really good on that bike...

  • Why are some of you people being an ass? Either you like Harleys or you don't.. Quit being a hater..

  • d00d!

  • The only reason why harleys sound like that is because of their shitty design. they wanted the engine to look cool so they put each cylinder at a 45 degree angle to eachother, making it impossible for the spark plugs to go off in sequence like theyre suppossed to. plus they look like shit who only fat pussy men or middle aged women should ride. they have a turn radius of what, a mile? their pieces of shit.

  • @HupoMonkey The 45 degree angle of the cylinders has less to do with the sound than you think. And it does not affect the spark plugs you tick cunt. You show your ignorance saying stupid shit like that

  • @micheal907 Har(d)ley's antiquated single crankpin is what makes Har(d)leys sound the way they do. Modern, properly designed V Twins have two crank pins, allowing the engine to run smoothly and efficiently.

  • nice way to fuck up ur engine

  • someone make that into a ring tone

  • I wish my wife made that sound.

  • @Ihateplayinggames Your wife DOES make that sound...when she fucks me.....

  • @CrudeDude .....

  • is this original or did you modify something?

  • sound of eXellence....

  • Such a low idle is a good way to hurt your motor. Can't pump enough oil - be careful ...

  • best sound in the world awesome bike!

  • the sound only a shovelhead can give you!!!!! AWESOME!!!

  • Workin' on da ign & idle jet, you CAN perfectly make roll this magic mill at 120 rpm. Not good -maybe-.... but, man! Whadda helluva hardon!

  • I Love It ! ! !

  • Harley recommends that you idle your bike at 1K rpm, not at 300-400 rpm. It vibrates and rocks the anchor bolts, fatigue. Shops will not tune that low. You're on your own. I wanted my ST-EFT tuned lower but they won't do it.

  • sounds like its choking :|

  • fucking awesome

  • meatmissle?? says it all really.

  • Fucking nice sound!

    5 stars

  • 40 inch drag pipes so COOL!

  • Hogley-Fergussen !!!!!!!!

    The best !!!!!

  • The sound of America's only 2 wheeled tractor.

  • just MAGIC

  • Now that's the way a bike should sound!!! Not this yuppie cookie cutter bull crap sound!! LOVE it man!! That's a real hog!!

  • Hey I agree! I love the Shovelheads Sound! I've owned 2 and they were good bikes! I have thought about buying another Harley but I just can't see myself being happy with a twin cam. Maybe an Evo. Shovels and Pans have the best sound.

  • Sweet!

  • now that is a nice soundin bike

  • why does it have such an uneven idle? or is it just set up like that?

  • It's a V-Twin, with the cylinders oriented 45 degrees from each other, which gives it that gallop. If it was a flat-twin, i.e. two cylinders at 180 degrees, the cylinders would fire at equal intervals.

  • thanks man, i love harleys but thought the idle was just set super low haha thats somewhat like what my wr450 sounds like, i like it set for low rpms so it has a nice grumble :)

  • Also the massive counter balance combined with the siamesed pistons is the reason behind the Harley sound.

  • they call me tater salad...nice bike

  • @saberdryver No, they call you tossed salad. Look it up, fag....

  • ohhh this sound i love it so

  • :D :D :D :D

  • @bangtango7 Well said

  • @bangtango7 "If it ain't Harley, it ain't shit.

    Conversely;

If it IS Harley, it IS shit.

    Got it.

  • Shovelhead has the best sound of all the Harley types. Wish i could afford one.

Just have to make due with my Nighttrain then.

  • yeah, buy a victory, they appreciate in value! cause only polesmokers appreciate them! and they gots all the money from.... well... smoking pole.

  • @breakerruzburn hahaha :P

  • the RPM's are very low, :D

  • awesome sound... sounds like Dual Hammer...

  • yo quiero esooooooo!! wow!

  • Wow....luv that sound!!!

  • Ooo how nice! Guys, what gives that slow, unique sound in Harleys? The valves, or the exhauster..?

  • everything xD

  • it's the pistons. they're not connected 180 degrees apart. they're offset, so it makes that uneven firing sound at idle.

  • Ah, okey. Thank you!

  • Huh? you moron. LOL.

  • nice ride, love the front end

  • I'm not much of a motorcycle guy more o the big v8 guy, but How many rpms does that thing idle at? Also do those motors have like a cam to make it lope like that?

Sick sounding bike though, Would love to own one.

  • Sounds awesome...shovels rock.

  • The same sound that my shovel '81 bobber.

Knukcle, pan and shovel have got the best sound.

  • excellent work, a real beauty-beast, that's the way i like'it! :)

  • fajnie słychać na wolnych obrotach

  • Music.

  • nice bike what model is that?

  • gamer2502 how many 1969 suzukis or Yamaha you've seen that still working in perfect condition. first that nothing, ride a Harley and then talk.

  • How many of those 1969 Harleys have over 100k miles on their engine and are still running? Better yet, how many modern Harleys have that many miles? I bought a motorcycle to ride everyday; not to pull out of the garage every Sunday to wax, ride down the road and back, and drain my wallet in payments.

  • That is one clearn looking scotter. Exactly what I want to build this time around. Shovels just have that sound man.

    For sale?

  • Hört sich genial an! Gefällt mir besser als meine 1400ccm Suzuki Intruder.

  • it's a shovelhead!

  • gamer2502 have you even seen a harley in your life? I don't think so. Harleys are real bikes, not like the Kawasaki or Honda bikes, which are made of plastic to be lighter, and they sound like a vacuum cleaner. As "rollharleydavidson" said, go ride a harley, and then come back.

  • LOL@made of plastic to be lighter...

You really have no idea what you're talking about. A lot of metric bikes have plastic side covers and turn signals. Those don't reduce the weight by much at all. They don't sound like vacuum cleaners. You're a moron

  • I had an old Kawasaki Ninja once and it sucked. I felt like an idiot riding it around so i sold it as quick as it was possible and i bought a Honda Shadow bike, it was hell better than this Kawasaki. Now i'm riding a HD sportster 1200 and i can't complain.

PS. They REALLY sound like damn vacuum cleaners.

    Moron!

  • that thing rev,s slower than my heart!

    shit doctor!!

  • That harley sounds like it on it`s last leggs , make one hard twist of the throttle and she`ll cut off , who in there right mind wants that, Sorry Ill take a jap bike in a heart beat...

  • wow Yeah :D Harley-Davidson!!! I love that sound :D it's real music :D

  • Nothing like the sound of a Harley to turn a girl on, LOL

  • sounds awesome, i just hope you dont ride it with the idle that low.

  • Methinks this ain't enough RPM's to keep all yer moving bits properly lubricated.

  • Really nice

What is this model of Harley?

  • hermosa harley de poka madre, saludos desde Durango tu amigo Harlero si tu kieres... DIMAS

  • So muss es sein-eine Gänsehaut macht sich bei mir breit!!!Wird höchste Zeit das ich auch eine bekomme

  • i agree the old harleys sound the best and the v-rod is too quiet. you want your harley to be heard before it is seen !!! old school for life

  • harley sucks they are slow heavy loud and high maintenance.

  • have u ever ridden one?? harleys are the only bike with attitude, and there not that heavy also thats a myth. i suggest u go to a dealership and ride one then come back to me.

  • you know you are not getting any oil pressure when you are idleing under 800 rpm right

  • WOOOW......crazy sound, nice bike!

    regards from Bosnia

  • nice! you got that idle speed way down. love the cam gear whine like it should be, not to much but there! no fuckin chains like my 06 twin cam has but at least its still a Harley. lets hear the wank-rod i mean v-rod make this cool sound. lol

  • Nice sound! Visit my FXDL;o)

  • Super low Idle sounds great but is really hard on the rods and bottom end in general

  • The bikes trying to be a musical instrument and a horse

  • oMg!!! great sound & bike!!!

  • Shovel rules!!!!

  • Nice sound, but most of all..

That's a sick CRAZY awesome ride, how much did it cost?

  • in idle it sounds like some oldman's farty ass lol.when accelerating it sounds just like a freakin beast :D lovely

  • Sounds like a 72 dodge truck with no mufflers and 6 fouled plugs

  • I could never get mine to run smooth with that cam, it shaked like hell at almost any speed, hard to tune the carb too.I sold that pice of shit, gonna get a Yamaha 1600 Wildstar instead and sell my tools.

  • Nice shovel.

  • Superb sound, are those just straight pipes with nothing in 'em?

  • Btw, that flat tire has to be fixed ;D

  • Bad To The Bone hahaha this is sick ride..

  • Where can I get this as a ring tone? Please

  • you can tell the video is fake cause the bike isnt shakin apart LOL

  • Nice sound but the video is fake

  • Sweeeeet !!!!!

  • Gotta love that shovelhead sound

  • The lower the idle of a harley motor the cooler it sounds. :P

And the bikes doesnt suffer, btw.

  • The newer engines will suffer if the idle is below 800rpm because they won't lubricate properly.

  • Dunno where u heard that.. But that is not true.. HD has used the same structure on their engine base, since the thirties. My bike is from 2005 and has below 800 rpm in idle, and has never suffered from low lubricant.

  • Any PHD Tech will tell you, the newer EFI engines need to idle at 800 or higher or it won't lubricate properly. A tech won't even do a download to your ECM to take the idle below that limit.

  • BTW, you can verify what I said by going to hdforumsDOTcom and asking there what can happen to your oil pressure when you drop the idle below 800... but it's your engine, so do what you want.

  • the idle is low, but the main sound your hearing (the roughness) is the cam

  • Would this be the "single-pin" crank design at 45 degrees?

  • Yup, a shovelhead

  • The bikes DO suffer at very low RPM's. Not enough oil...

If you've got an '05 you need to keep the RPM's near 800 or you're prematurely wearing out a motor that's only good for around 40k between rebuilds anyway. Good luck with that...

I forgot, you ride a Harley. I doubt that bike will ever see 40k miles...

    Ride safe.

  • That doesnt sound good for the bike...

  • thats what i wanna talk man!cool

  • Very Nice, Lovin' that Harley Sound

  • so how many rpms is that? like 200 lol

  • Why is Youtoob2006 on Every fuckin Harley Video posting comments about how loud they are, For fuck sakes find something else to do besides bitch and complain about Harleys.......

  • sounds like my cub cadet garden tractor... haha...

  • Sounds like an old fashioned "johnny popper". Your cub cadet outta have a muffler on it. johnny poppers didn't.

  • dude ur killin it,,adjust it man,for her sake.

  • jó

  • szuper

  • wouldn't it be a FLCH? it is a kicker?

  • no such animal...

  • 4 weeks ago i had a small accident with this bike, my front brake somehow jammed when i was driving and i felt over. I was ok ( just pissed ) and bike was also only little broken. Now i have installed new brake parts to front and maybe it's finally time to take some more videos to you...

  • Hi Everyone and thanks for the comments,

My bike is importet to Finland from USA 1995 and it has been here in Rovaniemi since then. I'm now 3rd owner in Finland. Bike is originally from 1971 model FLH 1200 shovelhead. Engine is rebuild here 3 years ago, there is all new inside (S&S cams and Wiseco pistons )not a racing engine. It's lowered a little bit, clearance is about 10cm ( 4" ). Tires are Front 130/90-16 and rear 140/90-16.

  • what year is she?

  • 1971 FLH 1200 Shovelhead..

  • Sounds good, just give it a lil' gas.....

i love that sound...mmmmmm.music to my ears...
