I love Natalie grant! I think this song was free on iTunes one day so I downloaded it. I never listened to it until one day my iPod was on shuffle and this came on! However, I'm simply noting that it lacks any specific biblical backing, whereas your quote of John 3:3 is specific, and therefore can be said to be biblically grounded. Nor do I discount the value of such a prayer. I simply note that there is no account of salvation recorded in the scriptures that cites this method for becoming saved. So to claim it as 'the' way is likely to be inaccurate. (cf: Acts 2:38-47 for the starting point)

We who try to state "the way" can often damage such faith without even realizing it, making it even harder for them to grow towards God

@horseandhisrider Please read Mark 13:32 which states "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father". Therefore if a doctrine is stating a calculated time and day of judgement it is going against what the Bible, God's Word, says and therefore cannot be a true doctrine

However, I'm simply noting that it lacks any specific biblical backing, whereas your quote of John 3:3 is specific, and therefore can be said to be biblically grounded. Nor do I discount the value of such a prayer. I simply note that there is no account of salvation recorded in the scriptures that cites this method for becoming saved. So to claim it as 'the' way is likely to be inaccurate. (cf: Acts 2:38-47 for the starting point)

@totalpwnage91 Reason I wrote a reply is that someone who "believes" in Jesus may well hold a faith more true than many a preacher on TV, yet manages to keep things simple enough that they fail to understand the broad statements we make. We who try to state "the way" can often damage such faith without even realizing it, making it even harder for them to grow towards God
And, of note, did you know that before Antioch, all who followed Christ were called "believers" or "believers in the way"?

I first heard this song when a girl at my school sang it for talent show and she outdid Natalie ten-fold. What I dislike is that she seemed to "twist it".
