  • im expecting robocop to get out of the car any second now.....

  • DONT make a civilian "personal safety" version... you may not be able to keep up with demand.

  • Saw this in nfs hot pursuit to see if it was real

  • A cool policecar. But... in america where a cars function is first and foremost a token of the american dreeeam, liberty and freeedom and all those things. How does it taste for the frantically flagwaving american that both GM and Chrysler were unable to produce this thing and infact... Its going to use BMW engine. Surely thats... unconstitutional. Just goes to show how far the big3 has fallen from grace.

  • @Janusha It has a BMW engine because there is no american company that produces a diesel engine of that weight and horsepower for a car. Usually european companies have much more know how when it comes to powerful lightweight diesel engines. Sad but true.

  • Which was my point exactly. Japanese and European cars are so insanely far ahead it makes no sense to use anything else. Or god forbid the american car companies decided to actually catch up. After all.. now that GM has hit the reset button, nothing prevents them from re-emerging as a quality brand except their determination not to. Instead they took their bailoutmoney and moved business to Korea, Brazil and Mexico. We all know quality doesnt come out of third world countries.

  • @Janusha A combination of unfair pollution laws and lack of consumer knowledge makes the US a hostile market for light duty diesel engines and the passenger vehicles they power.

  • @madzyzome

oh so now importing diesel engines is a bad thing ?

  • Availability in California is a question mark, as only Mercedes-Benz has manufactured Diesel engines that meet EPA standards for passenger cars and light-duty trucks in recent years. If it is a go, the E7 will offer ELS integration far beyond what Collins/Rockwell and the CA Highway Patrol have attempted with the CVPE program.

  • "Clean diesel" is an oxymoron.

  • @tripjet999 Diesel engines are cleaner than gasoline engines because they're a bit more fuel efficient. I hate to dash your dreams, but the cars that run on water and sunshine haven't been invented yet. Until now, diesel engines and hybrids are the best we can do.

  • @tripjet999 So is "environmentally friendly hybrid". They use so much battery acid you're basically driving a chemical warface device.

  • why is there so much leather? the quality of the interior looks to be the equivalent of a luxury brand. cut out the leather, cut down on production costs.

  • @TheJumpingcow Shouldnt people who are paid to protect and serve get the best we can give them? Not only the best in equipment and protection, but comfort while doing the job? The last thing I'd want a cop thinking while he's pulling me over is "Jesus, this seat is SUCH a pain in the ass... now I'm pissed... and wanna take it out on someone." LOL

  • german engine.... uhhhyeah ;)

  • diesel...can't be too good for pursuits, but then Idk how this one runs...just an opinion

  • lol - you must be an old man to say that. Do your homework.

  • good to see a new american company, especially a car company, I wonder if they will make vehicles other than the E7

  • where are the donut holders?

  • Unfortunatley this one wont be sold in auctions after retirement. Only recycled.

  • A live expectancy of ONLY 250 thousand miles?!! Thats NOTHING! we got an 89 Crown vic with WELL OVER 500 thousand on the original engine! And we abused the living hell out of it! We drove it like we stole it......everyday since 1991.

And how are you guys going to handle replacement's trade old E7 for a rebuilt one? at a fraction of the cost of a new unit? Only 300 hp? theres V6's out making almost that much! there will always be a faster better handling car that will make a quick get away.

  • up, the new camaro.. 3.6L, and 305HP.. but diesel has torque... Can't have it all..

  • Don't forget it's much lighter, much cheaper, it has alot more pulling power than a pig iron lump V6 and if you crash it, there's no extensive bodywork repairs, you just un-click most body panels and tap new ones on, as long as there's no structural damage the car is simple as all hell to fix.

  • now if they added a emp launcher, then its the perfect ride to stop crime invoving car chases with. the LAPD aint they only ones who can afford this, the NYPD has the same or more money to give to get these bad boys.

  • i made six of these emps we field tested it and our helicopter pilot crased once we beamed it to our target ,EMP IS VERY POWERFUL AND SHOULD NOT BE USED AT ANY COST UNLESS THE SUSPECT IS IN a open enviorment no cars ,helicopters , or pacemakers around. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS , PEOPLE WAKE UP YOUR RIGHTS ARE BEING TAKEN AWAY ! ONE STEP @ TIME

  • police are gonna kick ass now

  • Yeah your ass eventually. Keep giving them more weapons and toys.

  • no problem. i dont break the law. nothing to worry about.

  • a agree with franky...this car has been waiting to be built...it was just a matter of time. Firemen have firetrucks, EMTs have ambulances. All of them are SPECIALLY MADE for them, to fit their needs. you will never slow down crime..it is enebidable. crime will also go up as the economy goes down. this car will make it easier for anyone to control the suspects.

  • i think you are wrong. police need protection and of course if you do the crime then you need to do the time. this car will help catch you so you can do your time

  • Giving cops better cars will not bring crime rates down. It will just put more people in jail, we need to be spending our money finding ways to help criminals become useful productive citizens again and stay out crime.

  • Yeah because increasing spending with giving criminals three hots a cot, free education, healthcare, EDUCATION (repeated on purpose) has done LOADS for the communities.

Yup all that money wasted to "rehabilitate" has been worth it over the years. Wait, no, it isn't.

Stop giving people free shit. When they do the crime they do the time and they won't want to do it again.

"Why is America the greatest country in the world son? Our endless Appeals system"

  • Are you telling me that a college educated person is just as likely to rob a convenience store as the kid who grew up without a father and dropped out of school because no one encouraged him? Yes there are criminals that want to do harm but there are still more good people in this world then bad. The police are already well funded and armed. We throw more people behind bars then any other country in the world. We are doing something wrong.

  • anyone is capable of anything. look at bernie madoff. he wnet to college and later stole more than $50 billion from everyone.

  • I don't see how spending more money on a cop car would have lowered the likelihood of him committing that crime.

  • Once again, it's spending the comparable amount.

Reform does not work. Period. The returns on the money spent for it simply is not worth it. Better off spending it on our own kids education than some scumbag who could care less.

Want proof? The four fallen brothers in blue from oakland should be more than enough.

  • Also, since when are ALL criminals fatherless and school dropouts?

  • Serious criminals need to be given the death penality and immediately unlike the dumb death row. People like muderers. raptists have no place in society.

  • o look at this. chief of police are you? no? then dont talk about what should be done. criminals (gangs, robbers, murderers etc.) will never be normal citizens.
