  • best song ever

  • @thecannonball34 You obviously didn't fight Bowyer, the Hammer Bro, Jynx, the big Bob-Omb, the cat thing (that eats Mallow I believe, also his second boss form), the giant beanstalk, the sword (hello, easier than Hammer Bro and the cat thing) or really any other boss or just two of them.

  • Culex is a total pussy. Second or third easiest boss in the game.

  • i loved the fightand music in mario rpg and i love this!way to go man!

  • sonic and tails couldn't beat culex

  • YOU SPOONY BARD!!

  • awesome

  • fucking AWESOME

  • 鬼畜米

  • lol the tempo changes at 0:03

  • damn this is good. i wish i could do this.

  • awesome

  • I am just blown away by how awesome this rendition sounds! I've done my own version but this one is just more epic! Well done, good sir/madam!

  • I Did beat cluex on level 16 mario, peach and geno.

  • ...!

  • FFIV FTW!

  • DIS DA SHNIZWHIZ''IN'!!!!

  • I beat culex when i was level 25 with mario lazy shell peach frying pan geno star gun. Man he took forever it took me thirty min and my 24 year old sister helped and i have all mariorpg songs on my ipod

  • The Dragon is turning into mist!

Striking the mist will only incur the dragons wrath!

The must is clearing, strike now!

  • why didnt they make this the final boss on mario and luigi rpg 3

  • Holy shit, this is perfect! I've seen 3 Mario Paint versions of this track already, but this one is by far the best!

  • @MoisChanVsTamama It says how long it took in the description. 9 hours and he thinks that's very short.

  • wooooo NICEEE

  • why don't u make a one about Sephiroth's original theme

  • wow

  • good version

  • I think this is a glitch, but I beat Culex at Level 1, which is pretty weird. Took me 2 f&@$! hours, but I did it...

  • So, PAR, right?

  • @juliusjaml O_o

  • I equipped Princess with the Frying Pan and Lazy Shell. Now she'll never die, can bring back the others, and inflict major damage on the crystals.

  • Now try beating Culex with Mario at L6 and everyone else at their bare minimum levels. ^^

  • How can I do that? I'm usually pretty far into the game when I reach that fight

  • Avoid as many enemies as possible, get the Lucky Jewel as soon as possible and on boss fights make sure on double XP you get it wrong, and whenever you get the egg for Sheep attack you can sheep mostly everything to get through the game with even less exp.

  • @SatoshiLyish why mario not l1?

  • There's a few unavoidable battles..I believe the lowest possible level is L3 for Mario. Funny thing, I was thinking about this yesterday. ^^;

  • level 3 would be pretty tough. ive beaten him without upgrading equipment, but my levels were still pretty high...

  • @SatoshiLyish

I did it at with mario at lvl 3. i think i had to give bowser the lazy shell, cuz princess only has 50 hp at minimum level and bowser has 80 and more def. Princess still can't take a solid hit from culex and crystals with lazy shell. then stock up on red essence and rock candy and make sure you have star egg, too. power blast the team so rock candy and star egg does 50% more damage. hardest part is you have to beat culex a few times to get lucky enough to get no exp on lucky game

  • @CrashTuvai Awesome. I think I did it with Mario at L6, but I can't exactly remember who else I used and whether or not I used any Red Essences. I know I had plenty of Rock Candies though, lol.

I should attempt this again sometime..I love playing this game.

  • @dcmack1984 Really? I use Jump with Kain and Dark with Cecil XD XD

  • *battle stance* imma gonna win! Imma gonna be Number 1!

  • *readies himself* you'll have to beat me first!

  • ... sorry, but I don't know really anything about SMRPG. I only know this from FF4... anyway:

    JUMP!

    *leaps into air*

  • @KingaKoopa Look at your freaking username.

  • A couple things: 1) it's a little too fast. 2) about 0:13 or 0:14 the F ought to be an F#. But still awesome! 5/5*!

  • I can easily see myself fighting a boss in FF 4 to this.

    Perfect work!

  • the best out there

  • i cant belive this, AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't believe you even got the little build up at the very beginning. This is incredible.

  • I was already prepared to give you 5 stars and a Favorite just from that. It's amazing how you (seemed to, at least) capture every single note in the song. 10/10, absolutely perfect.

  • why is it when i start playing a game i find references to it in other games but for the same console. but awesome MPC a definate keeper subscription and 5*

  • My favorite part about fighting Culex is the music. Awesome job!

  • Really well done, given Mario Paint's limitations.

Great job. My only concern was about the last bass notes of the song (before it loops.) They sounded a little high to me, but I don't have much of a musical ear.

  • I don't know how to properly respond to this awesomness...

  • the hearts are spot on.

  • *jaw drops* i have not seen anything like it.... :D

  • I Love Final Fantasy IV and the Bodd Battle theme *__* cool!

  • I'm still trying to figure how you manages this...its FKN amazing!!

  • omg this is epic!!! 5/5!! gratz!!

  • Comment removed

  • Jeez. Freakin' masterpiece right here! This is, without a doubt, the best MPC song/theme I have heard so far. This is truly amazing.

  • You had THAT much time on your hands...?

Fucking time well worth it IMO. AWESOME!

  • fkn amazing!

I haven't played that game in YEARS!!!

now I want to go back to it.

    hmm....

  • BEAUTIFUL~~ ; o; excellent job, bro.

  • It would be cool if they got a fight against Culex with this theme in another Super Smash Bros release if they decide to make another one besides Brawl

  • thats a really good idea!!!

  • slow it down and it will be a true masterpiece!

    its great anyway

  • Not dickspeed.

    Awesome

  • I found nothing wrong with this song what so f***ing ever! It's perfect to me. =D

If you ever do another version of this I hope it'll be just as awesome. ;)

  • THIS SOUNDS *plays ff4* ALMOST IDENTICAL!!!!! are you related to yoko shimuora?

  • holy hell way better than mine.

    5 stars

  • This is one of the, if not THE, best remake(s) I've ever heard of any song. It sounds amazingly like the original given the instruments you're limited to. It captures the depth of that song (i.e. half the instruments aren't obviously cut out) and it makes me feel the way I feel during an FFIV boss battle.

    Well done. :D

  • The beginning was absolutly amazing!

How did you manage to master that speed and make the tunes perfect?

My eyes seriously flipped a turn that moment.

  • vegeta what does the scouter say about his tempo

    level

    ITS OVER 9000!!!

  • jeesus christ it was a f'in joke go back to the ghetto

  • No. Your a fail... Thank you...

  • I think that was to another comment. Sorry! T_T

  • Then what was that comment for?

  • Something about 9000...

  • @loklmolkjmkn believe me, over nine thousand is WAY faster than that

  • Comment removed

  • SatoshiLyish - the original dickspeeder.

  • very nicely done, on original mario paint too

  • This isn't the original Mario Paint.

It's Mario Paint Composer, a freeware version for PC/Mac with enhanced features including a larger staff and accidentals.

  • Perfect³ *--*

  • slow it down a bit

  • personally, for me, best version on youtube...but there are still some areas u can work on

  • Those swans totally killed me- for like the millionth time, I'm looking forward to your later videos. I love how you used the chords. What, are you a guitarist? Or musician? :)

  • Final Fantasy IV Music FTW

  • You have a lot of 4 and 5 note combos there!

  • best version on youtube

  • It's Perfect!

  • it's fantastic, great job, una de las mejores músicas de los final fantasys, it's the best music of final fantasy.

  • Perfect!!

  • Wow! Yours is much better than angrytiger's. (No offennce, really.)

  • Yes. I said it was.

  • actually i think angrytiger's is better... this sounds a lil over done... both are great though

  • yeah i know what you mean. This sounds a bit like FF4 than Mario. No offense to SatoshiLyish of course

  • Well, I only liked this one better because the other one was a bit out of tune a this part. angrytiger, if you learned about chords, that part probably wouldn't be out of tune. But I guess this is the Final Fantasy IV version of it, and the other is the Super Mario RPG.

  • It is the boss them for FF 4 as well as Culex's boss theme

  • Awesome! X3

  • you should redo this in V2.

  • this is really good, but the trumpets put really close together don't really sound like long notes, just 32nd notes, but not much you can do about that.

  • hey can you get me the mp3 for this

  • Dude, that's awesome O:

  • a few things i noticed (and their repeats):

    0:14,0:17,0:32,0:34 etc - f# g eflat d c, not f.

    ~0:43 - f, c, f b(natural, not flat) c

    1:03, "ending-ish" area: IMO, its "g, d g, aflat g d, g c d g aflat g d"

(shameless plug for my own crummy version for that last part)

hope that helps you make this even better than the awesomeness it already is :P

  • That is just so... fast!

    Excellent job.

  • The only thing I didn't like was how you used a bunch of flowers in a row. It sounds good with the cars, but not really anything else.

But still, you did a great job, and this is probably the best Mario Paint version on YouTube. 5/5

  • dude this is just amazing, ppl who criticize should be shot

  • some notes ain't right.

otherwise, this is great. got a lotta fast stuff; the intro is real good.

  • Can I have specifics on what's wrong with it instead of a generalized statement?

  • Ah... I figured it out!

Measure 62 in the first section: melody should be an F#, not F-natural.

Something didn't sound right, but I didn't know what it was right away so didn't say anything. >.>

  • ah, thanks for pointing it out. ^^ Although, it still doesn't account for all the other problems that might be in this song. *shrug*

  • That's really the only notable "error" that I can see with regard to matching the tune with the original; anything else would just be preferential tweaks and modifications.

  • GFG... A damn sight better than mine, that's for sure.

    10/5, dude.

  • Ohhh... O.O

    Please paper xD

    5 stars...

  • this might as well just be in the game

  • O.O OH GOD!

  • you really know how to compare to axelrod and tombobblender O_O

  • OMFGIQUJDBWYE&@QGEBX@P(*ESX(*awdjvbdcigsdf

  • 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999X4674/5 stars!

  • agreed

  • gooooood

  • agreed

  • Insane!

  • agreed

  • THIS IS AWESOME!!!

  • this is seriously the best version of this song on mario paint! great job!!!

  • holy. Holy. HOLY. LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. Well done, sir. I bow to you.

  • definitely the best rendition of this song on youtube by far, i congratulate you on this! automatic 5 stars ^^

  • Another thing - if Super Mario RPG was meant for the NES, this would've surely made it.

If it didn't Nintendo's completely insane.

  • Well, the NES was limited to 2 square waves, a triangle, and percussion, so I don't think it would make it.

    Sorry! ^^;

  • Dang, ah well.

  • 100000000000000000~~

    (The system is broke)

  • The best yet i've seen of final fantasy!!!

    5 stars!!!!

  • siiiiiick. 5 stars.

  • How did you get the tempo so high TT~TT this song rawks

  • I think you change the number to the tempo you want at the end of the file name

  • At the end of the code.

  • press the + sign.

  • very nice, but why is the composer different? is it a special version?

  • Wow. I've been searching since two years for a good version of this song and you made it! Congratulations!

  • This was almost like the original! Nice work.

  • WOW! Amazing!

  • this is the definition of perfecting mario paint. seriously

  • I agree completely, the fact that you can make such an accurate song with such high tempo, with the beginning is amazing

  • the tempo is fucking insane especially in the begginning great job

  • Nice, i loved SMRPG!

  • Excellent!

  • Damn, this is good!

  • Great job! I loved FFIV, and Super Mario RPG!

  • Nice!!

  • damn this is the best version on youtube. Congratulations that was epic!!

  • only go high tempo when you need it, otherwise you waste precious measures.

  • other than that, it's exceedingly well done.

  • The tempo is being used here.

  • Um, what?

  • If there are two notes in succession - two lines in a row, at this tempo, how is that not using it? He is using the 1.4k tempo for a reason.

  • i still don't understand you. did you read my comment properly, i said only go high tempo when you need to. i acknowledge the fact that he/she is using a high tempo.

  • The max notes to a line is 5, but with the high tempo, you can get it to sound like you put 10 or even 15 notes on one line by putting 2-3 lines in succession. (notes next to each other at this speed sound like they all are on one beat.)

  • That's an auditory illusion (Is that what it's called?). Anyway I didn't understand the other person, he/she said that the tempo is being used, but isn't the tempo always in use? He/She was not wording it correctly, so I got confused.

  • I think they meant that the tempo is being used to create those auditory illusions that you and I (and I think everyone else) were talking about.

  • Sorry, I suppose I meant to say something along the lines of:

The tempo is that high so that SatoshiLyish can create "thicker" chords, stacatto effects, sliding notes, and muting effects.

I had assumed that your comment was critisizing, in a way, SatoshiLyish for using an unreasonably high tempo. Whether I was wrong about this is irrelevant, but that is what I originally meant. Sorry for the mix-up.

  • Personally, I think this is the best version of this song done on MPC. Composing in fast tempos is a real task, and you've done it greatly, and it just has a great feel to it. Great job!

  • Want to make any note staccato without having to mute the entire beat that the second note is on? With the rest of the beat empty, place the note you would like to shorten the previous note on where the low A should be. After that, you can put other notes on the same beat at normal volume. It's a very handy glitch, and can be seen with the flowers in my What is Love? video if you're not quite sure.
