I think you are confused about Catholicism my friend. The Pope is not trying to be God. Jesus said he was building his new Church and Peter was the foundation. He did this before he went to heaven. Peter was therefore the representative of Jesus. He was there to continue his teachings or at least to make sure people understood them and lived by them. The different Popes have done the same since. They do not change the teachings. It is other types of Christianity who have altered these teachings.
So to clarify the Pope is there to enfore the teachings. It is in fact the Pope who is constantly complained at for not altering teachings to suit the times but John Paul II said the teachings of God are the teachings of God no matter what the times are. They were not made just for then but for now as well. I have studied textual criticism at the college level, including two and a half years of Ancient Greek, and I can assure you that although there is a lively number of different textual families stretching to Qumran, the Septuagint, through the Masoretic tradition, the Byzantines, etc., the differences are only of interest to scholars. The texts agree in all really essential details.

Baptism is a sub branch of protestantism. Any christian church outside of Catholicism is considered protestant.

I think you are confused about Catholicism my friend. The Pope is not trying to be God. Jesus said he was building his new Church and Peter was the foundation. He did this before he went to heaven. Peter was therefore the representative of Jesus. He was there to continue his teachings or at least to make sure people understood them and lived by them. The different Popes have done the same since. They do not change the teachings. It is other types of Christianity who have altered these teachings.

It is in fact the Pope who is constantly complained at for not altering teachings to suit the times but John Paul II said the teachings of God are the teachings of God no matter what the times are. They were not made just for then but for now as well. The Catholic Church ADMITS to it.
They deleted the 2nd Commandment AND split the last into 2. Why change GODS law at all? Why do ANYTHING to the Commandments?
Daniel 7:25 "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

@KeeHartProductions haha you think the Catholic CHurch is ignoring that law? No way, we consider, what you think is the 2nd commandment, as apart of the first. IT goes hand in hand. I don't think different ways of naming the laws is actually changing them...

@KeeHartProductions Is it morally wrong to have the Sabbath on Sunday instead of Saturday?! YOu are completely missing the poing of Sabbath in the first place. The Lord said that you must reserve a day of rest and prayer unto the Father in the week. I'm sure their calendars were different many years ago as well.

Wojzek:The Church is being built on the revelation of what Peter saw from the Father, not Peter. Jesus is the foundation of our Christian faith, not Peter. And with that faith, we are His desciples, just as Peter was. Catholicism is a man's religion, not Gods.

This is stupid. The Pope does not take the place of God he is the current apostle in place of the original apostle. Each of the Pope's are basically a continuation of the apostles so we can have an apostle representative on earth. [I wonder if I got the spelling correct?]

VICAR - To take the place of
Son of God - CHRIST.
Vicar of Christ means IN PLACE OF Christ. NO MAN can EVER be held in ANY same position as CHRIST. Get real.

By take the place of it means he is teaching us the way of life on earth as Jesus did and also as Peter did. He is not taking his place as to say Jesus is in heaven now so we must now worship him. Jesus let Peter know he was building his Church from him and Peter was the 1st Pope so to speak. Now Peter is in heaven [as we of faith believe] and we have had many different Popes in charge, not all as Holy as Peter although I think JPII was very holy.

It doesn't matter how many missionaries you've been on. Your MIND will always ONLY show you what you believe to be true. And with a stupid name such as CATHOFAITHDEF, one just wonders exactly what your belief and perception is on the world. The truth never needs defending and does not need to be pushed on people.
