@noopook No, the amount of practice and the way you structure the practice time is what matters. Talent is only a very small part of the equation. All the best drummers have one thing in common: they all put in a tremendous amount of time and hard work to get where they're at.
@MikePostDrums Well said. I feel halfway offended when people call me talented when they watch me sing or play - I put work into these things. If it was just a skill I happened to have there'd be no merit.
