Actually he often uses a Les Paul Junior, sometimes with a single cutaway-sometimes a double cutaway like the first one in this video-(later becoming the basis for the SG). He plays a Melody Maker too which looks quite like the Junior too.

However, among other things he plays Strats, SG's, Les Pauls, and still plays the Telecasters including a couple of highly customized ones-one with glass and one with X-mas lights. Add to this banjo/ganjo and a Gibson hollow body recently.

I saw a piece of it when Keith was singing You'll Think of Me (YTOM). At the end of the song you could really see that he put himself into the lyrics and the moment bc when he ended the song he was a bit dazed coming out of it. I've seen another here on Tube that is labeled his best performance, but I believe this one tops that.

It's definately a Gibson. My guess is it's an SG '61 Reissue, but I could be wrong.

Its a double-cutaway les paul. I think they call it a Gibson Les Paul Junior. Its similar to the one that Billy Joe Armstrong from Greenday has. definitely not an SG but i can see why that mistake is made.

I think you may be right. He does own the SG I mentioned as well, so in a grainy video, it's hard to tell. I have a fantastic picture of the SG. Wish I could share it with you.

I think dangalangz is right about the double cutaway part. From what I understand Early Les Paul Juniors used that shape. Keith also does have sunburst Les Paul Junior in the same shape as Billie Joe Armstrong's (Green Day) amoungst many other guitars including an SG, Strats and of course his famous Tele.

simoman1234567: Urban used that Tele you referred to as "his famous Tele" in the "Start a Band" video with Brad Paisley. Other than in that video, I rarely seem Urban use that Tele anymore...actually, I rarely see him use anything but Gibsons nowadays.

True. He only uses a Tele (40th Anniversary model) on Who Wouldn't Want To Be Me, sometimes on You Look Good In My Shirt and of course Somebody Like You.

He does mostly play Gibsons (electrics that is) but apart from the Tele he does play a Strat on Used To The Pain, Better Life and You're My Better Half (norm version). That said he played Better Life on the Love, Pain DVD with a guitar I don't know who makes.

He does play acoustically with a Maton (all made in Melb, Australia) these days.
