This sound great. A Guitar not too fancy but with all the great basics it takes. Great response and no dead tones. I have myself a Takamine G510-S. I am very happy with it. But this EAN10C is definitly something I will look at. in the future.
I'd prefer the EAN10C just because the soundhole of the GB7 doesn't make me confident about feedback on stage. But, of course, the EAN10C is probably the most underrated guitar. That guitar is the answer for those who say Taks are only for playing on stage. At a studio, the EAN10C sound awesome. How does the GB7 perform at a studio?
okay benrawlesacoustic, aparently you are the dumbass. he is a bluegrass guitar player, you play a guitar with a pick AND you play next to the bridge when you play bluegrass. get your fact's straight before you go running your mouth about someone elses style of playing. thier are different styles you know.
Okay, apparently I need to study people before I assume that everyone plays like the professionals I've seen. Playing varies more than I understood. Apologies for offending you.
Definitely. You should study more. BTW, do every professional you've heard play fingerstyle and over the neck? The only one I've seen that plays over the neck is Keith Richards, but he is Keith Richards and he can play however he wants.
What exactly is the "true acoustic sound?" Well, when guitars were invented, they came from instruments that not necessarily were played fingerstyle, and not even with hands, but someone's feet, like the Scandinavian lute.
Also, you have to be aware that, even if there are more "accepted" ways to play an instrument, art is a subjective matter. And any kind of music has its "sound color." Bluegrass wouldn't sound bluegrass played any other way. That's why Bard Davis is famous and we're not.
Okay...I'm just gonna assume that takamine are retards, for choosing a guy who plays acoustic, with a pick, and plays riight by the bridge. He's making even a guitar like that sound tinny and harsh. Anyone tried this? Play over the neck
and you get a beautifully sweet sound on most
guitars! Play it where he is, and you get a tinny sound.
Well, that's a matter of taste; but any guitar teacher will tell you that the most acceptable way to play the guitar is just down the soundhole. And this is coming from a guitar teacher. BTW, what's your problem with Brad playing with a pick? He's not a fingerpicker so deal with it.
Besides, what you're hearing is THE Takamine sound. It's kind of "nasal-like," which is the reason, I guess, that a lot of country music players prefer them. I love them because of their preamps, and the Natural and Supernatural series are awesome unplugged.
Okay, it seems that people are taught to play in a different way, depending on the style their going for. I assumed because of what people have told me, and seeing various gigs, that everyone played in this way.
I have no problem with Takamine guitars, I think they sound brilliant, but I think he could have achieved a better sound, balancing the timbre more. But hey, he's the pro.
It's more a taste thing for me, fingerpicking sounds warmer, and I thought most people went for that.
man this guitar could really put the damage on your pocket, but its sounds really beautiful. Like right now i just own takamine g series it does good but i should have got a bigger size like the grand auditorium are a dread in a diffrent series. but i am happy with what i have, it was my first guitar that i ever purchased out of my own pockets. i look for anything with a decent price. cuz i aint as good as these guys. I wanna own this one are the taylor t5 thats a nice guitar.

@rightwingted I picked one up for $800 from Sam Ash, all it had was a few blemish nicks from being a display model. I love it.

This guitar is basically the EAN10C with a modified soundhole. The EAN10C sounds awesome unplugged and I'd expect the same from this guitar.
arielcardona 2 years ago
I play an EAN10C and agree.
The action on te GB7 is a bit different though.

Every guitar is different, including the same models.
arielcardona 2 years ago
I've played three different EAN10C's and own one.
I'd pref. either one of them over the GB7 I played. I may have just been that one, but still.

I have tried this guitar in a music store today. The sound is not good as the sound in this video.
May be that acoustic amp is too cheap....
Really hope Sigler music can post some unplugged guitar video here. It REALLY can help us to decide which guitar are suitable for ourselves.

Most play fingerstyle, mainly because picking wouldn't get the true acoustic sound, which I still believe picking doesn't.
When acoustics were invented, they just used their grown out nails.
I don't mean like over the neck like playing
next to your fingers, but not so close to the bridge. He seems to be exaggerating what people say is the 'normal way to play' you know?
The nearer the bridge you go, the more
bass you get, and the treble becomes more woody, rather than metallic.

Sounds great but that design is a little hideous. Love the finish and bridge and everything but the hole shape.
