  • this song.....it makes me wonder if he remembers.....sometimes i wish I could forget

  • am i the only one who cries during this song?!?! <3 you jim <3 keep doing what you do!

  • @22ringetterocks i cry almost every time i listen to this song, but i just keep listening!

  • Shades of Dougie Maclean and Shania Twain, not that you need to...beautiful composition, simply beautiful. thank you.

  • Beautiful

  • Jim's got a great story behind all his songs, I wonder what his story is to go with this song. I went to see him last night here in St. John's Newfoundland. i'm still buzzing it was Amazing :)))

  • Where can I get this version (live) of the song. The same one as above...please help.

  • @pyjamapete1 Belive "Songs From The Woodshed"

  • @SuperRomeo313 I meant the mp3....

  • Saw Blue Rodeo in Detroit a cple years ago at Majic Bag... actually was Blue Rodeo & Friends... wish was more Blue Rodeo & Less Friends, but was still great. Tix were 15.00... guess my point is Promoter charges the price, not the Band... just a real real good band. Some bands u can say they sound like this... they sound like that... Blue rodeo sounds like Blue rodeo... Make us all proud to say we are Canadian... Happy Thanksgiving all.

  • This song, just kinda tugs on your soul, until you bleed tears....but are they tears of sadness, or just plain tears brought on by the sheer beauty of it? I still don't know.

  • He's a lot like Sting only better.

  • awesome!!!!!

  • fucking absolutely beautiful. Been listening to Blue Rodeo for quite a while now, at it still amazes me to find songs like this one that I have not heard before and are amazing.

  • i love blu e rodeo, have been listeing to them for a few years now.

  • Does anyone know more about Blue Rodeo. When I see them in interviews, which is rare, they are always talking about their music or about being Canadian but never where their lyrics come from? I mean seriously, the lyrics to their songs just tear your heart out. Don't you have to have had some major broken hearts to be able to feel and write the way these guys do?

  • Summer makes me restless and I can't get by alone

I know that's you that's calling, but I don't pick up the phone

The day you started wandering, I guess I lost my faith

I sit here now and wait and see, what's coming in its place..

  • Love this song :)

  • I love their song "Bad Timing" brings back memories....

  • Awesome!!!

  • beautiful song

  • amen!!! Liquid

  • Well you know, the fact that other people paid 50 bucks and so on.....for their tickets doesn't change the fact that the show in toronto cost 300$......I keep scratching my head wondering why? so much? For me personally..it sort of takes the soul out of their music..they seem now to me just a business, a franchise.....not worthy of the respect I was able to give them a month ago....sorry guys..I honestly don't listen to your music as much anymore...I'm from toronto also..i have money but i wont

  • @liquidarkness they have to make a living off their bands music. They most likely had to raise the prices because of the depression and the hst would've had and effect.

  • A song that expresses how much loss and confusion there is related with love.

  • Comment removed

  • I wanted to see them up close. Section 101, 102, 103. $281.00 plus taxes!! Sold out to the "elite" who like spending money.

  • Here's a reality check! My all time favorite band in the world, Blue Rodeo, yet i've never had a chance to see them live even though I'm born and raised in Toronto. This August the play in Toronto and now I have the opportunity and the money!!! Guess what, almost $ 300.00 dollars per ticket to see my idols! What a fukn joke!!! Jim you should be ashamed of yourself as well the rest of the band and your publicist and promoters. What a disgrace!!! I've no interest in lining your pockets!!!

  • @randyandy1960 How do you figure that? The most expensive ticket is 99 bucks. Section 202 even...that's a pretty good seat.

  • @randyandy1960 lol tickets to see them in Sydney's only 50 bucks <3 Got mine XD

  • I love you more Jim Cuddy....21 years and counting..come back to Michigan...your fan.Karen..and daughter Allison.

  • this is an awesome and heart felt song thanks Blue Rodeo !!!

  • In 100 years, even in their catalog of gems, THIS is the one that will shine the brightest.

  • @Blackiswhite1

    I agree with you...Kate

  • @Blackiswhite1 Iagree..I have heard this song..plus stings..fragile..nearley everyday..almost as if I have too, Typeing with a cut open finger..i won't get stiches.....but I agree ....Kate

  • Mr. Cuddy

    Thank you my friend

  • awesome song i love it

  • Quiet for Blue Rodeo but distinctively their brand of Blue Country and a great song!

  • Does anyone know the name of the female who sings backing vocals on the studio version of this song?

  • @Tutone66 I haven't heard it but I know Sarah McLaughlin does a lot of back up vocals for them.

  • Just saw the Juno award show's rendition of this..I'm sorry, don't cut one line out one of their songs for time or strings or anything or anyone..This is still an all time favorite..and my favorite band.

  • simply beautiful, i waited for you, no matter where you go or what you put you through

  • Wow. Blue Rodeo writes the absolute best heartbreak love songs, ever. Nice job.

  • This is one of the so many beautiful songs by this band..and the video is astounding,,I swear I see a tear in his left eye and Greg Keeler keeping his eyes on him...like he could barley get through this.. He did.a masterpiece...kate

  • love jim cuddy what a voice , heaven 100%

  • @daredate...yea! and we are envious ..sigh. I just wish I could see these guys again..I met Jim Cuddy in Mich. almost 21 years ago...he talked to me and my then 9 year old daughter for at least 45 min..He thought it was pretty cool that it took me 8 months to find out who they were after hearing"TRY" on the Radio..I had to sing it to the disc jockey on a Canadian station..but I found them..A blissful memory..K

  • Tutone66

Thank you for the suggestion and I will look her up..I love Canadian music..as well as Canadians....Thanks again....Kate

  • kate54ish I know, after checking the list of musicians from Canada, there are too many t o mention, though I must add one more, Lorenna McKennitt.

  • @Tutone66 Bless you for knowing who she is!

  • @Tutone66

are you just trying to make me envious...? I already am! LOL. Just keep printing them, I'm writing them down.Kate

  • 1 dislike????1 person doesn't have a soul...K

  • one big long sigh..I told myself I wouldn't cry..just to sad.K

  • Was this song ever a single? Cannot believe I never heard this before. This is a beautiful song. This group is awesome. Dark angel is equally good.

  • That song makes me want to cry...think it teared Jim up too..did you catch the sniffle at the end?

  • I can't believe this doesn't have a million views.. so many are missing out.. Love Jim and have since I was a young girl.. <3

  • Met him 20 years ago in Mt.clemons Mi. My daughter was 9 and loved the music...not only does he have a beautiful voice, he talked to us for quite a long time..he was so kind.a wonderful human being...a cherished memory...I love Canadians too...Karen

  • I wish this song never ended... So tranquil. Worked with them on a show last year, and they were nothing but class.

  • this might be the greatest song ever written.

  • @All4Tbest

    You just might be right....K.

  • Love you guys...and this song is great:-)

  • Oh Canada! Cuddy & crew are the best. I've been a BR fan for 23 years now and still can't get enough. Canada's U2? More like Ireland's BR.

  • I have loved BR and specifically Jim's voice from the beginning with outskirts. Always sounds amazinf live and acoustic just like this.

Keep up the great work guys - you are very loved by your Candian fans!!

Those who dont know your talent are missing an amazing soun d that keeps getting better.

    Cheers

  • Great song...or should I say, another great song.

  • Don't ever stop doing what your doing guys! Your the best!

  • Oh Jim Cuddy, you did it again!

  • can't wait to see br w my huney in brantford! beautiful stuff!

  • I sung this song at my last gig. It went over well with the crowd!!! Especially the last chorus! :P

  • what a great song! Usually Jim is happy and upbeat regardless of the song. He looks truly "sad" in this one. Greg looking on looks sad for him too....

  • She left one helluva distance..And one Helluva wait after Going Through What She......Sigh...This Group has some of the best music if ya like to reminisce on old wounds...

  • @OutlawIV

Nobody really likes to relive old wounds...sometimes it seems they just don'y go away because even though they heal...they become memories...old memories..Kate

  • hauntingly...lovingly.....mystically...true!!!

  • the other dude is playing an epiphone? wow......

  • @me2gap Some epiphones are made very well. It's all about the sound of the guitar, not the name on the headstock.

  • @ClassicalMarc

Found out that this is a US made Epi TEXAN....mid sixties (he added the dove pickguard). I guarantee this is better made than the current Chinese made epi`s

I own over 200 guitars - no need to tell me about sound...haha. That was the whole point of my comment - I`d like to see some artists use "less than worthy" guitars to make records to prove a 700$ acoustic can sound as good as a 2500$ one (sometimes-not always)

  • @me2gap

It's not the guitar that matters, it's the music. :)

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song

  • Amazing song. Blue Rodeo is Canada's hidden gem.

  • To be honest I did not know Blue Rodeo.

This is a fantastic discovery, and this song is a marvel.

Jim Cuddy has an exceptional voice.

    Thank you

  • @manuetalain83

    Salut Alain!! Merci, c'est superbe!

Thanks mars357 for posting this song, I didn't know before...

  • @manuetalain83 I totally agree with you. There's a very deep feeling emanating from both the song and his singing. Kind of gives me chills...cos i know this feeling. Great musicianship too. Thank you for sending my way.

  • @manuetalain83 So glad you discovered them...you'll spend months and months catching up with what you have missed...you won't regret it...Kate

  • I hear you!!! cried the first time I heard it..

  • words cannot say enough about how much this song has now become my favourite.. love this soul..

A distant Angel for sure....Thank you for sharing this fantastic video..

    sharon B

  • @SharonBlondin Me as well. I don't know what your situation is, but this song just punches me in the heart.

  • Everytime they come to Moncton I go see them... Love Jim Cuddy.

  • I really love this song !!! and Jim cuddy :)

  • does he ever change his shirt i saw them in toronto and he is wearing the same shirt

  • I think every woman who watches him in concert developes an intense crush on him. I know I did and now every time I hear his voice it melts my heart. This is my favorite song. First time I heard it I was putty for Cuddy. :-)

  • @loopydee - yup, i think your right about the crush!

Talent is so easy to fall in love with. And so is kindness. He seems to have tons of both. No wonder we all get crushes.

  • This song is so beautiful.

  • Wow! I hadn't heard this one. It's been a while since I've seen the guys live, and I was thrilled to stumble across this video. Thanks for posting.

  • The longer they're around the better they get. How many bands/singers can you say that about? They need to put out a great DVD...

  • jim u are amazing

    sharon Blondin

  • just brilliant, awesome,,love it

  • Jim Cuddy has one of the most beautiful voices out there. I'm so proud they're Canadian.

  • Canada makes the best musicians

  • @ckirstenm got that right, did u see the juno's lastnight, yea it was in my city :P im so proud of that..

  • @Rawralion They were the only act on stage that can perform well live!

  • @fractureme i agree totally. so your canadian?

  • @Rawralion where are you from???

  • @goldenguy5 St.johns, newfoundland.

  • @Rawralion thats awsome, I'm from Burin, haha, i don't watch tv tho, haha :P

  • @goldenguy5 oh sweet u ever go to st.johns?

  • @Rawralion scattered time, the past year i've only been there becasue i broke my leg an had to have surgery on it at the Janeway, but all good now, still can't run great tho, and 1.7 km yesterday and the sscrew under my knee statered killin me, haha. planain to go in for a bit the summer.

  • @goldenguy5 dam lol, how old are you if u don't mind me asking?

  • @goldenguy5 17, hahaha an you ???:P

  • @ckirstenm Justin Bieber is canadian.

  • @daredate ya we can't help that lol

  • @daredate We apologise for inflicting him on the world. Him and Celine Dion. We're sorry.

  • @gvbezoff I assume you are kidding. You know the number of great musicians from Canada is impressive. Sara Mac is probably my favorite Canuck musician, Neil Young, Joni, Danko and Bryan Adams are alright too. Thanks

  • @Tutone66 Well these guy's....Jim cuddy one of the prolific writers...are mine..K

  • @Tutone66 Since I was speaking of Justin Bieber and Celine Dion, no, I was not kidding. You don't have to tell me about Canadian musicians. The Guess Who, Rush, The Band, Chilliwack, Doucette, April Wine, The Stampeders, Colin James, Trooper, Bachman Turner Overdrive, David Clayton Thomas (Earth Wind and Fire), Tom Cochrane, Bruce Cockburn, Leonard Cohen, Barenaked Ladies, Triumph, Goddo, Steppenwolf, and so on. There aren't enough characters allowed in a comment to name a tenth of them.

  • @gvbezoff You will get no argument on your list of great musicians from Canada. However, I think most music fans from both countries would never put Celne in the same category as Beiber. Even with her chest pounding, she is a wonderfully gifted singer.

  • Is that Jim Cuddy's son on piano?

  • just beautiful!!! wow another keeper...

    sharon

  • This song is absolutely breathtaking live.

  • Isn't it interesting that this song sounds like it was written by Greg Keelor? These guys are great. :)

  • Saw them last night in Sudbury Ont. I have been to alot of Concerts of various Genres. If i may be so bold as to say i have never been so emotionally moved as I was by these amazing musicians. Thank You so much for sharing your Spirits. Canandian Talent and Genuinely Good People.

  • @RebootPlanet

Im from Sudbury too and have seen them many times there....legendary....a true Canadian treasure.

  • unreal..

  • these guys are purely Amazing this song is too omg i loev this song inspired me to continue re inventing the way I write my songs and Inspired me to continue my hopes to be a True Musician truly Awesome They need to have way more recognition and promotion then they are getting

  • Beautiful tune and America would embrace it so much, but they go unnoticed down here. It's a shame, though I have been trying to enlighten people to their music. I recently posted this video on Facebook and have gotten great responses. I've sent their CD's & DVD's to Texas, to my family & friends. They don't know what they're missing. It's not at all like mainstream American country, it's so much better!

  • Back at Ya'! There are so many fantastic tunes of theirs and they continue to grow into one of the most incredible bands of our time. I wish I lived in Canada and could here their music on local radio. I also would prefer cooler temperatures and shorter summers. I know it sounds odd, but that's how I feel!

  • This is one of the best I can say as I wish I could say for me back to you

  • An incredibly Beautiful song. I discovered Blue Rodeo in 2006 on XM Radio and heard "5 Days in May" and have been a big fan ever since. I live Maryland and I am originally from Texas. Me, my wife & 8 yr old grandson have seen them 3 times so far. They are great guys and wonderful to talk to after the shows. There is so much great Canadian music I have found as a result of them and I wish America knew what they were missing from this great land above us!

  • Grab a Tim Horton's, The Best of Blue Rodeo, your wife and kid and drive when the the first hard freeze and snow hits on your way to the rink man. This will lift the Canadian soul to a new level. I love this band and am proud to call them Canadian. Tour again and again and I will go again and again....

  • Saw Blue Rodeo in concert last week - they are amazingly talented!

  • Good Lord, he's still so amazing

    <3

  • Breathtaking - beautiful imagery and insight into intense emotional feelings - inspirational - thanks for another great song - to be another of my lifetime favourites...

  • Such a beautiful voice and lovely to look at.

  • I was at Massey Hall last night also to see them. They blew me away, beyond my expectations. So intimate and fun. This was one of my favourite songs of the evening, gave me goosebumps.
