very nice. i m gonna go to Pakistan next year and i make sure that i visit my gawadar.i m taking some of my friends with me but i m not sure if its gonna be safe for them because they r not baloch!
Is it safe for us to go to Gwadar? I am a Muhajir from Karachi and my friends are Punjabis... do u think its safe for us to go to Gwadar from Karachi, via the Coastal Highway??
@DamhaSirah It was safe when we went there a couple of years ago. Not sure now but I think it should be safe. Its not like they pick up non-baluchis and kill 'em. Take precautions.
i went there last year in october. i'm also from karachi and didn't have any problem with the locals. people seem very hospitable there. i can recomend a hotel or two if you're interested.
youre a Pakistani, why are u afraid to travel within ur own country
just avoid certain areas, where indian funded terrorists try to destabilize the resource rich province. Baluchistan is pride of all Pakistan
but we also must realize that Baluchis voices of concern are legitimate and genuine. Hopefully when there is revolution and total change in political system then we would have peace for a change
The tribal Baloch are either Brahvi or Sulemani descent while the Makrani Baloch trace their ancestory to the Arabs and Africans of the Muslim armies that came during and after Muhammad bin Qasim. Many Makranis are of Yemeni-East african descent. There is even a tomb of Hazrat Bilal (raa) the great Sahabi of Prophet Muhammad(saw) near Gwadar. Mekranis were the first to spread islam in and around sindh. Lt Gen (R) AbdulQadir Baloch of Pakistan Army Belongs to Mekran.

The governments of Oman and Iran have their reservations against development of city and people of Gawadar as Oman recruits Mekrani people in its army while Iran will get tough competition for its own port at Chahbahar. India has invested a lot of money and resources in Chahbahar. The government of Pakistan has reserved 2 million employment opportunities only for people of Gwadar and Balochistan.Gawadar was 48 hours by drive now only 6 hours by coastal highway
My friend could you let us know how is the work in progress going on in gwadar? Also how is the law and order situation now/ has it improved?. Iam so gald to see this video chronicle of your great journey. I want to do the same kind of trip to gwadar when I go back home Pakistan Insha Allah In december.
Hiee... yes, work is underway but a lot more to be done, specially in terms of infrastructure.
Law and Order is fine. Problem areas are towards north near Punjab and NWFP borders. And yes, it would be really nice going there in December. It was a bit hot when we went there.
The distance is around 750 Kms of which 650 are on the coastal highway. It took us around 9 hours to reach from Karachi city to Gwadar. The road is excellent but no formal gas stations. You get smuggled Irani petrol on a few spots along the way (which might not be of good quality). No formal restaurants (1 or 2 truck stops which you might NOT want to try out!) Very little traffic and even the cell phones do not work along the way. Need a reliable vehicle!
Looks very interesting and adventurous. Are there any gas stations on the highway, or any restaurants? Whats the distance between Karachi and Gawadar and how much time it takes to reach?
"Desert Rose" really matches the Theme. Nice
