If such a thing were to exist in real life, I believe many, many people would enjoy it. However, my only fear is that Nintendo would BUTCHER the game script to make it fit in with Nintendo being family friendly. Plus, we already have an amazing script as is. Adding 3D to this game would only up it's appeal. However, I think the fate of the Mother series is to be enjoyed by a select few who can truly appreciate it.

Earthbound was a commercial failure in 95 when it was released. Only in the past few years has it gained any sort of following... If Mother 3 were to be released here, it WOULD be a huge success... It wouldn't have been 15 years ago.

no, they wanted to, but they were sort of at a loss. the game is a landmine of copyright issues, and if it were to be released unchanged in the US, ninntendo would get so many lawsuits, they'd never break even. They didn't want to change it for US release, or namely, Itoi didn't want to change it, an rightfully so.

These are just pictures to show what Mother 3 would be like if it had Wind Waker graphics (AKA they're fake). Even the 3D game for Mother 3 that was canceled didn't look like this. And no, they weren't finished with making Mother 3 for the N64 before canceling it. The reason why it was canceled was because it was taking too long to make. In fact, Lucas was originally supposed to be in Melee instead of Ness.

They ARE fake. I've been a huge fan of the Mother/EarthBound series for about a year now. The N64 version looked nothing like this and it was never released to begin with. The only version that is possible to play is the GBA version. They were never going to move it up to the GC, which is when cell shaded graphics were new. In fact, they were going to leave Mother 3 dead, but instead, they came back about 15 years later and made it one of the last games for the GBA.

This would've been really cool. Even though it's fake, I still think that Mother 3 would still be more successful on the GBA.

If the exact same game were to transfer into the Gamecube, but better graphics, I still don't think Mother 3 would've had a nice score. Because RPGs on a console are usually expected to have alot of detail as in items, gameplay, and such.

Mother 3 only puts a small amount for a console RPG. but as a handheld RPG, it puts in alot of effort.

that would still be pretty big for a ds to handle. a ds can handle about twice as much as a GBA could in memory (not graphics), so an snes game takes up around as much as a gba game, and mother 3 was almost too much for the gba to handle, so just mother 2 and 3 would just barely be able to be made into one game. topping that off with one of the most memory- taking games for the nes, there would be no way a ds can hold all that, unless they make it a cartridge extension, which'd be overdoing it.

They have MOTHER 1 + 2 on GBA. xD They can of course do all three on one DS cart. You don't know the size of DS carts huh? They can go up to about 512 mb. =]

mother 1 and 2 arent both considered to have gba graphics though, mother 2 was for the snes, and even then they had to cut down on a few things to save room. mother 1 was for nes, which can be held by a gameboy color. both combined was a push, but they just barely managed to put both games onto the gba.

p.s., the largest game for ds was able to handle 518, and that was an extension game (large cartridge). the average game can handle about 300- 250 mb

well, the mother battle system isnt meant to be in 3D, or actually visible for that fact. there are alot of unexplainable things, such as the multi bottle rocket, how duster does such high- skilled kicking moves when one of his legs is crippled, how porky attacks when hes in a giant spider machine (in mother 3 when he attacked it said ",,,what did porky do?"

oh, and not every game. theres alot of games nintendo hasnt surpassed, including the entire mother series except for M2/ earthbound

pokemon didnt have unexplainable moments in it, and even if it did, none of the 3D pokemon games were remakes of the past handheld ones. the fighting system cant be edited, youd know that if youve listened to a word i said. and i wouldnt get my hopes up on the "what nintendos going to do", since the mother series is done to now, and the chances of a remake of one of the previous games is very low. and again, if there was ever going to be a mother remake, theres no way itd come to america
