But I don't think that characters with personalities would have added something to ST1. ST1 was one long (satirical, exaggerated) commercial for the (ST) army. It was purely (bug-/?)plot-driven while in ST2 you see people making decisions.

That's what I love about this film. On its own, it's just a generic horror film B-Movie, but if you look at it in some detail, you'll see the underlying messages about propaganda and the like which actually make it a good watch.

the first movie hade more blood and combat, the secound hade more personalety then the first and was trying to be more scary when 1 died, the third film was more about treason and of how religen is not a good thing in combat or in city scaled areas. in other words all 3 movies has good points and bad points

I think this part of the movie was ironic, seeing as Dax didn't really care about the whole "glory and honour" thing. I think it was just a satire of military propaghanda

Yeah, I found that beautifully ironic in a way, and only realized that after seeing it a second time. While I think a lot of the acting in the movie was sub-par, I really like the ironic twist at the end, how Dax's name is ultimately used by the very system he despised. The Mobile Infantry opportunistically seized upon his death as a point they could use in their propaganda, in spite of never really caring about what the man really thought or felt.

Ok this movie sucks but it in some parts are good, and the thing I hate was the ranked troopers fought and disrespected the higher ranks, the Lieutenant, Sergeant start fights with Cap. Dax and NO Lieutenant OR Sergeant has the right to question a Cap's orders that's left to the Colonel, Generals and such to say what and fight with the Caps and other ranks... anyone else agree with me about ranks and that this movie sucked?
