Extraordinary passion, hypersensitivity, emotional struggles, all of them perhaps 'necessary' factors in HIGH ART. I am afraid there will be a long time before another one like Ferras comes around.
In painting we recognize similar psychosynthesis in Vincent van Gogh.
The liner note on this Bach solo violin CD (which is probably the least known recording amongst major violinists) nailed it right on the head: Ferras managed to find passion even in the middle of this colossal Chaconne...
great talent and great passion. For me the best! difficult to find people to share this passion, no wonder he left us early.wish my love can find him anywhere he is
He was a fantastic violinist. The first recording I heard of his was the excellent Brahms Double Concerto with Paul Tortelier. That was an amazing recording.
this is great, thank you!
