Good work, I remember when i was fighting him. I could never win so i decide to use cheats to move on to bg2 but the cheats stuffed the game and i never beat him. Biggest regret ever!!! lol

goddamn havent played this in so long. My buddy and i used to stay up for hours and hours playing this. I would watch most the time though, he was way better lol
such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks such menial tasks ....
@dageezerboi The tower, I take it, is some place in hell that was mystically created when Bhaal started creating children. Each statue represents one of his children. When one of them dies (like Sarevok), their statue crumbles.
The camera pulls back at the end to reveal how big the tower is, and likewise, how many freaking people got Bhaal 'Daddy'. ;)
going down in that mine in the south of the swordcoast with your party early in the game was one of the most exciting game parts i have ever experienced :) I also loved the realistic maps it did not feel overdesigned you had maps with trees and bushes only and not a dragon or an epic story to tell each corner.
The trap when triggered sends out a skull that explodes dealing electricity damage to everyone around including Sarevok. But since the electricity immunity, only he will suffer from it's effects. Had to do it, because Sarevok didn't seem to care that my paladin had -14 ac, he still rained -24 blows on him as if he was hitting a spellcaster.
@Runazarag I have no idea, and I actually didn't know that he was immune to magic. Mostly beacuse my casters couldn't pull off a single spell on him without being torn to shreds. Try it yourself it may work. I did it.
There's another way to kill Sarevok, just recently came up with it. I have Baldur's Gate +Tales of the Sword Coast installed, and latest patch, so I don't know will it work on previous game versions. The trick is...Drink Potion of Absorbption, that grants 100% immunity to electricity and get oil of speed or haste on the character you will do it with. The sign of Bhaal (That skull in the centre of the room) is trapped with electrical trap. Run around with Sarevok and trigger the trap repeatedly.
I'm trying to kill him in Tutu with the Hard Times mod (way less magic items and wands in the game) and it's a pain. Probably doesn't help that I don't have a proper cleric though, just Jaheira and she's a fighter/druid hehe. Nice job taking him down.
You can just kite the bastards out of the building one by one and kill them seperately. It's easy as hell and goes for pretty much every "hard" fight in the game. I killed this boss with lvl 4 characters just a moment ago.
Didn't that get freakishly annoying after a while, having the acknowledgment sounds on full? A constant stream of "Such menial tasks... such menial tasks... such menial tasks..." must've gotten annoying at SOME point...
nice. i beat all bgs (bg1, bg2soa, bgda1, bgda2) but i finished both bg1 and bg2 with minsc, khalid, jaheira, dynaheir, imoen and my guy (elf ranger).
What a final battle haha, kill all those fuckinevil bastards! Such a game. First time completion i was sitting there shoutin an screamin "YEAHH!!!!!!" as Sarevok dropped to he floor. Spinnin round crazy on me chair. haha.
He is one of the best bad-guys in a video game thats for sure.
There is nothing quite like beating this game with the likes of Quayle, Tiax and other such 2 dimensional crazy characters or characters so useless that people take them long to see if they can beat the game in spite of their presence. They really have no business surviving this battle, and that's why I love the epicness of this game. :)
Many fond memories... maybe it's time I go back to playing this.
wow he was tough. I remeber doing this on insane hard mode, I must have died 40 some times before I figured out how to beat him. It's cool that Tazok and sarevok (twice) come back in the second. Most epic games ever made.
I played so many hours in this game but when i got to the end i ran into a bug where an npc kept clonning over and over and my previous saves didnt get around it, it was epic suxors!
I remember, a looong time ago, in ch6-7 my name got trashed, I became a "Fallen Ranger" and almost all my NPCs left. All I could scrounge up was Imoen, Shar-Teel, and Safana. And my char was a really sucky ranger too, he was kinda weak. I dunno how I ever beat Sarevok, and I wish I remembered.
thanks for posting. I almost made it two Sar, but never finished the game. Lost my CDs in time, and left me with shadows of amn, Always wanted to see the sarv fight and ending tyvm.
Heh, yeah my BG1 discs are all scratched to the point where they don't work (the original release discs, came in a horrible case that damages them) and I accidentally threw away my BG2 discs! I forgot they were in the box still. =(
Ended up just downloading them again offline, figure there's no harm since it's old and I had already bought all the games and expansions.
Noobish way to win ^^ When I played first time i used monster wand too. Now I finished game on hardest level, without wands (Sarevok was killing me-tank with 2-3 hits xD) but finally did it. 100% completed.
Killed his companions using about 40 skelatons, orcs and dogs, while raining missiles on them. Then webbed, entanlgled and hold spell on Sarevok. Eventually he failed to save vs spell and I peppered him with explosive arrows. Not a fair fight I know...
I didn't like "Wrath Sarevok" as the name when you meet him again in hell on BG2. For Gods sake, just call him Sarevok, he fights the same way he did when he was alive.

Though, he voices Yaga-Shura, Bhaal and other characters as well as Sarevok from both games. I almost missed him as Jolee in KOTOR and then I'm playing it and I go "Holy sh*t, it's Sarevok" lol. I love the crumbling of Baulders statue at the end. I'm not sure what it represents, because if he disappears in hell then where does he go then? So I'm assuming that this underworld is actually a place where all peoples statues are together and not just evil doers.
The crumbled statues represent the children of Bhaal who have died. And since you kill Sarevok at the end, you get to see his statue go into pieces. By the way, love the battle music.
That game is so fun to play , but i found cheats and now i use them the whole time :( So it just boring realy.. And i used a Lvl up cheat and now cannot i lvl more then 7 or 8 :( :(
xp cap is round 89000 thats why and in expansion 161000 so it caps you round lv 7-8, This 1 is from exp. Also you find mods to remove it but thats cheating :P
In the expansion Tales of the Sword Coast there is a stack of 12 healing potions in durlag´s dungeon.
