I just ifred it up on my sony bravia and I find the graphics horrible, the edges are so ... "fluffy", AA is totally missing and yes there is flickering. BTW, I bought this for my son on his ps3, coz there aint anything that can compare to the graphics on my pc. Sharp picture, smooth edges, best AA ever.
You wouldn't notice this of course if you sit 3m away from the TV, but when under 2m you can clearly see the picture has "steps", e.g. when you look at branches etc. Horrible.
I hope you realize that the PS3 GFX unit has no AA...that's why you get jaggies. A game developed exclusively to the PS3 doesn't look like this. They add a blur layer over to help reduce the jaggies. Just think what they could do if this game was exclusive to the PS3. Not a port.
does not look as blurry as this, no way! im playing it right now and can honestly say that this is just simply not true. just as rockstar if you are in doubt. looks more sharper than this and personally i would much rather play this game and GTA always on a PS3. thats where rockstar started and they usually favour sony. look, they even gave sony extra content. 360 owners are just jealous that ps3 is the superior console. GOW3 could never be done on a 360! its been stated!!!
@nicknasty14 i was playing gtaiv when it first came out and i KNEW something was up with the graphics. it also runs at 640p. also check the neogaf thread screenshots...the difference is so vivid, like between using component and composite cables.
@theredmars i just turned red dead off and can verify that it does not look blurry as ive seen here and in a couple screenshots! i am running it through hdmi and double checked the resolution. i left it running and switched from my cable back to hdmi and it even read 720p. seriously, do not believe this, its pretty bogus. i also am playing it on an lcd sony bravia and it looks awesome. much sharper than in this video and screenshot. once again, there is no difference.
jesus fucking christ rockstar...they halfassed the ps3 version. this is total bullshit. 640p vs 720p...there is a big difference, if you can't see the blurring.
Why do you have to be a Sony fanboy to be comfortable or simply satisfied with the visuals fidelity of the PS3 version? You guys are EXAGGERATING. Look up the word goddammit. It's a matter of half-assed optimizing and porting in part of R*. While you can tell the code is different it is NOT, however, a crippling difference.
It's just a matter of the dev being favoring 360 development, that's all.
I don't understand what is it you guys are trying to do with all this OCD nitpicking.
indeed better on 360. the difference is clear, you either must be blind or a sony fanboy to not see it.
I have both PS3 and 360. I wasn't sure what version to buy cuz 360 has the awesome gamepad and Live but PS3 has the exclusive content. but now I am definitely buying 360 version. PS3's Exclusive content is to make up for the lousy port. xD
@pppedro0 I'm not blind, I've noticed the difference (but only when I watched the footage side by side..) but it's so very minor that it seems pretty pointless to buy the 360 version purely for ''better graphics'', while the PS3 version has exclusive content.
This exagerration clearly shows that you're a 360 fanboy.
@RickyPrescott dude seriously???!!! cause am trying to make up my mind wat to get it on. I really want to get on the ps3,but people talking about the 640hp thing!
This house reminds me of the walking dead season 2

In the options of ps3 you can see the option anti aliasing. If you have flickering its shitty tv

You should check out the IGN PS3/360 comparison video. The difference is even LESS if not, completely NONE at all.
RickyPrescott 1 year ago
Also, Youtube is a HORRIBLE place to make a comparison video of graphics as it butchers the quality.
JohnnyBoy755 1 year ago
@JohnnyBoy755
Its not the graphics hes comparing, its the flickering on the house and in the trees.
Zombiefruit 1 year ago
@Zombiefruit Yeah, the "flickering" is due to no Anti-Aliasing on the PS3.

There is a difference.
It looks darker on this one.. and it flickers more.. I THINK.
But the difference seems minimal.
I could only tell when I watch them side by side.
But still.. if you own both consoles.. get it on the 360 unless you want the extra content on the PS3 version.

@cannyx I actually watched both footage side by side, on 720p (cuz I didn't see any difference at first).
