It's much easier to just put a half a pack of mentos (in the tube packs) in by holding it down low then dropping and closing the cap. same way but you can put more in and do it faster

For more efficiency, you should drill a hole in the cap and plug it with a cork, and then set the thing up in a tube to make sure it flies straight when it launches. Put in the mentos, seal it, then pull the cork out and you should see a much higher peak height with more control.
