It saddens me that when I search "I Dreamed a Dream" I have to sift through Susan Boyle and all her overrated performances to get to the really good stuff
@gabrielsutton9195 How can you say she didn't express any emotion afterwards??? Thats what makes her performance so incredible is the emotion throughout the whole song beginning to end and you can still see the emotion in her eyes when she's finished as she puts everything into her characters performance. Yes you say you love the fact she shows no emotion, yet the emotion is always there!
and there it is susan boyle gives a performance like this once in her life, but heres a singer that belts out a better rendition night after night for years.
wow. what an incredible performance! judging on that, i think susan boyle is a tiny bit overrated. I loved the way she didn't express any emotion afterwards and just walked off! mega-talented.
@lars22950362 I assume you're talking about her vibrato. It is a little much in some places, but it's also necessary in others. It should come toward the end of the note rather than at the beginning of it, but it helps hold the note out longer. Even so, Lea did amazingly well, I just love her in anything.
@StarrySerenity what fantastic singing advice. your comment has helped me with my own interpretation of this song.you should charge for your advice dear that is if you don't already thankyou
@666lainey1 I'm assuming this is sarcasm? It doesn't read very well over text. I wasn't giving anyone singing advice, I was just explaining the dynamics Lea was using while singing. The person who commented first clearly didn't know the terminology for vibrato, so I was explaining it for them. I've been singing for a while, and I know a good amount about voice, so I think I'm equipped to do that. So uh...yeah.
I just love how at the end Lea still looks like shes all alone in the world when thousands of people are practically screaming their lungs off for her. She is not only an amazing singer but actress as well.
@tzitzei8 YES! Her voice matured, hence her role also switched to a more mature character in this particular production. Check out her debut as a the Les Miz cast; "On My Own".

This is really beautiful!
But i would really LOVE to hear her voice without her goin EeEeEeEeEeE on the long places.
It would sound more "pure", if she was just out in one Eeeeeeeee.. If you know what i mean.
But i think she is ekstatic none the less!
