  • love dis lia n megs..

  • wait... how does this work? is this like, a movement of the hips?

  • Umm this is NOT a Samoan dance. There are different types of Polynesian dances and Samoan dances are under Polynesian - BUT Samoan dances are much more distinct and different. They do not shake their hips but mostly stomp and sway and have many hand movements that are different.

  • samoan girls are so gorgeous...malo lava teinez lol

    cool.

  • WOW! that looks so unreal! those girls are amazing dancer :D good job!

  • scartail0warrior, for you to tell men not to be turned on by beautiful girls dancing and twirling their hips is like telling dogs not to breed. C'mon...how old are you to say such a naive thing? Or should I say, tell men how to act?

I am a married woman, heterosexual. This doesn't turn me on, but I can tell you that if my husband watched this, he would be!

  • poly's representin!!!!

yoo girls put it down fo da hamo's

  • wow, this dance isnt supposed to turn you pervs on. this dance is a graceful, spiritual thing. dont look at it like its some kind of porn, cuz its not. enjoy it, just not sexually.

  • @scartail0warrior hula was a seductive dance back in the days...

  • @scartail0warrior I agree. It's amazing how those girls can move so gracefuly. I don't see it as anything sexual. I see it as a spiritual dance done to tell a story. That's what they really doing. I would love to learn how to dance like that. I am inspired from this and Lilo and Stitch.

  • @scartail0warrior haha ..u silly prick .. chick can't dance for grace ..this is invitation to mating , and they do it well imo

  • Comment removed

  • @FilthyRichPrick1 Of course its an invitation to mating in the untrained eyes of foreigners. Their foresight is limited to just that. But the story being told (imo) is that of migration by the ancestors of polynesian people. The graceful hand motion is the sea breeze, the slower and faster drum beats implies fair and stormy days during these sea journeys. I see paddling motions for canoe riding and the booty shaking indicated the ruthless pacific ocean waves. That my friends is "MY" story....XD

  • @upwdat goog explanation :-))

  • to all _ do u know the title of the music used in this video?

  • @scartail0warrior this video made me commit genocide on millions of my unborn love soldiers

  • @scartail0warrior ..no disrespectin your opinion or anything, but these dances have a sexual connotation.. ask any tahitian who knows their history and they'll tell you how their ancestors danced, it was very vigorous and seductive, another rarotongan elder told a story of cook island dancing being danced by tagaroa's (the old pagen God of polynesia) mistresses to 'entertain' him. its a very sexual dance. grace is something of the tongan and samoan ceremonial virgins.. very different, cheers bro

  • @scartail0warrior Well, I could argue that a dance like this is obviously supposed to fire up the blood of the young warriors, and anyone who tries to say that this is just a 'spiritual' dance is fooling themselves about the nature of people, but come on, this is the internet! People are transformed to trolls on the interwebz!

  • @scartail0warrior And btw, I noticed this when I was living in Hawaii. The white people who learn polynesian dances have a noticable lack of grace, compared to the islanders who grew up in the culture. Go through this movie again, and compare the arm/hand movements of the two dancers, and you'll see what I mean. (if you don't you're a souless bastard who has no sense of beauty and grace).

  • @scartail0warrior lol i'm sorry but these girls are too hot! lol

  • I gota say this just seems to be a modern version of egyptian bellydance :p

  • @parsprincess pfft,, pls.. hula and belly dancing totally different

  • you must be queer not to enjoy that

  • Im gay and I enjoy that so there ya go bone head lol

  • its amazing! its like the skirt are dancing by them self!cool!

  • malo mean..

da chick wif da black hair is so fyn! dayummm.. can i get ur numba?

  • This is very good, wow;)

    Well done gurls, malie malie

    Xxx

  • this is cool if you see somebody dance once but imagine a dance contest of this shit you would be watching the same crap again and again, boriiiiiing.

  • These girls are good. They would actually be GREAT if they weren't so sleepy like. I have to admit. I kind of almost fell asleep. Maybe its just the boring beat. But I see they're really good. Yay for them.

  • Megan & Tulia, give it up already. U both suck. I dance better. lmao

  • why are people arguing here to prove a point? take it somewhere else!

  • is that tulia and mehgan shimasaki?well whoever they are theyre good!

  • To be honest with you people, nobody cares past Hawai'i & west of Guam.

  • LOL, fa, why is there always hating and cussing commentary whenever us FOBS get together on YouTube?! Talofae... anyway, I liked this dance - cute. How old are these girls? They look quite young, so I think everyone should take that into consideration. My only advice/ critique would be to work on their stage presence, and 'perform' the dance a bit better, as opposed to just 'going thru the motions' which is how it looked at times. Extend the arms, smile, get 'into' it more. But good 4 beginners.

  • mean dancing girls ! you guys were awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • i luv dis video great job gurls

  • How is the video considered a Samoan dance?

  • its not a samoan dance....Read Da Title....."Polynesian Dancing "IN AMERICAN SAMOA".....DUH

  • DON'T BE SO SNOTTY WISE ASS!!!

  • its not being sontty stupid ass....its called....KEEPIN IT REAL....Dumb Ass!!!!

  • You go alaynahnaziel! Samoa, Hawaii, we're all Polynesians!!!

  • lol.i know these girls!It's Megan & Tulia Shimasaki!lol.

  • I'd like to dance so much like these girls. I' ve always said that I was born in the wrong place!:D Actually I'm pretty good at 'ass shaking' but not that much unfortunately :( They're so good, great vid

  • anybody actually know who's performin in that video? the girls look fimiliar but im not really sure.

  • i know taimane is the red hair girl.

  • Thought you'd like to know that Wide Angle Studios is working on a documentary project right now with some sequences set in American Samoa - check it out! Thanks!

  • thats interesting i wanna learn that

  • =[

    its okay

i dont feel like the girls are as excited as the beat

    like not really into it....

    but they shake good

  • who the fuck said samoan and togan shake ass? you said earlier that eastern polynesians use this as a form of prostitution. and i correct you by saying that Sadie hotel only earns money at the end of the show by a taualuga dance. so don't mock tahitian or cook island by their way of entertaining. their not always getting money everytime they shake their ass.

  • let me juss telll u sumthin mah friend..the Samoans and the Tonggans were the FIRST polynesian...without them Polynesia wouldnt even be called polynesia! because the Samoans nd the Tongans made the two haul canoes , the ONLY canoes that could probly travel long distant nd discover huge area.....that use area happens to be polynesia!

  • at what point of my comment made you come up with a totally different subject? if you think i said something offensive about samoans and tongan then you're wrong, that was not my intention. i already have a perfect understanding that western polynesian were first to settle in 1000-900 B.C. and was the geographic homeland of the Ancestral Polynesians.

  • it is called polynesiua for its geographical reason.. many islands... not cuz you guys cames first... so even if there were no people living there it would still be called polynesia

  • Vous dansez trop bien =)

  • OMFG! i jus read Herc2770's comments properly and they rote "palangi" LOL first of all if ur a samoan urself, HOW EMBARASSiNG ... second of all u kant spell since wen do samoan language use "ng" in our spelling??? see, instead of coming on youtube commenting crap about some eastern polynesian prostitution rubbish learn to spell!!! like we care wot u hav to say anyways,

  • sole! fa'afefea oga e sau fa'apalagi mai, and complain at the same time while YOU my brother needs to freaking learn HOW to spell!! look Im not "full-blooded" samoan but I am so disappointed in you!! you dumb-ass wanna-be samoan from the states use your slang language you f*&^ing dumbass! use you language if fa'apea e fia fa'apalagi mai,fai fa'alelei lou English aga gae broken!!

sincerly Your brother from the islands!

    fika mai le pese!!!

  • dont worry bout Herc2770, she or he is jus jelous coz wea this person is from the women kan only show there eyes LMAO and wot does it matter if the dance these gurls are dancing isnt samoan? we r polynesian n this is jus one of many polynesian dances their is to perform! nothing wrong with showing skin anywayz so if u dont like it, go watch something else maybe ur jus a slut urself LOL

  • I know that's right. We have enough bull to deal with being Polynesian. You racism isn't only about the meauli's anymore aea, now it's towards anyone and everyone. I bet Herc2770 is a sheman that's probably why she's hatin' on the girls. She needs to get a clue. cheehooo

  • They are my first cousins and I didn't appreciate the comment from Herc2770. If you have a problem with the way they dance don't watch it. The real meaning of prostitution is the act or practice of engaging in promiscuous sexual relations especially for money. They are not having sex you ignorant biatch. It says Polynesian dancing. I know if I knew who you were I would kick your ass for talking shit about #1my cousins #2polynesian dancers and to top it off for just being an ignorant bitch.

  • WOOT! i like the dance :)

  • other giril is haole?

  • i personally liked the video...yes they are in samoa but this is clearly a tahitian dance. this is fia fia nite so that means entertainment...so what they had the girls to dance from another island...that's nice and it's shows the love of polynesia as a whole.and atleast the girls could fa arapu properly.

  • exactly. that person before herc is rite.

the cook islands dance was actually performed before any of the 'foreigners'

    came to our land.

don't be so profane abouut things that you dont even know, find out before u make an opinion.

    and besides.

if you've got that much of a problem with it, then why did you watch it?

  • u need toshut the fuck up u racist bitch

    polynesians dont do tht..

and at least we have a good proud culture to share...and how do u know thts not samoan u probably never bin to samao..and poly people are not sluts this is a way of dancing and telling a story without speaking so get the facts straight u dumb ass bitch...

  • Thats not even a Samoan dance.

We have more decentse not to parade ourselves like sluts that Eastern polynesians known for prostituing there bodies for Foreigners for easy cash.

From first contact eastern polynesians had with Europeans. They sucked there dick and still perform for these diseased europeans.
