Even IAU members and astronomers who discovered Eris and other objects that might eventually be called plutoids were not consulted or informed.

That's left many scientists peeved that the IAU developed the new term and its definition behind closed doors. They accuse the IAU of being secretive, out of touch and of failing to consider basic physical characteristics that researchers use to define planets.

Pluto is a planet. Just because it "doesn't clean up its neighborhood" and it's "too small"? Just think how that makes little children feel. Planet Earth is pretty crap at cleaning up its surface, oceans, air, and neighborhood. Demoting Pluto was done from envy at the US Pluto Colonization Program.

If you look into the flimsy reasons for demoting Pluto from planet status, you'll see it is based, not on "Science", but on jealousy toward the NASA Pluto Program.
