Why is the edges on the rotating black and white wheel sharp on this camera and most other cameras have som grayed stripes between the black and white?
thanks for considering me for your advice, here in my country sr12 is still the flag ship for sony, but i don't recommend it, it has very poor low light performance and in our normal life we shoot more indoor than outdoor, if you want old and cheaper model then go for canon Vixia/legria HG 20 or HG21, these cams have progressive shooting and very good result even by today's standard. check em out

Great video quality but why this camera is not recording in 1080p ???
WroclawMojeMiasto 2 years ago
no consumer cameras really record in 1080p right now they just say they do
the highest you can get is 1080i

Its so much value for money when compared to others.
Shame it doesn't have progressive mode otherwise it would ve been the perfect choice

whats the progressive mode?

It means that camcorder takes the whole picture rather than parts (interlaces). It's not as smooth as the interlace but it is much much more detailed.
Plus you need progressive video to make a decent web video as interlaced video look good only on high quality monitors like 100 Hz LCDs

i see, wasn't in such detailed stuff. what about tm300? or you would still go for sony.. tests are similar, but i really like sony stabilizator

If you rule out the manual features and 24p recording, then Sony is way better than Panasonic.
Especially when it comes to low light shooting.
Sony's Exmor R(or backlit CMOS) sensor technology reduces noise by 50%

Vivid colour and excellent sharpness. Shame it costs £1300 here in the U.K. :-(
