I watched this movie because there was a talking Horse in it. While it doesn't follow the book at all, the animation is great except for the animated cartoon humans, and the story was tamed in every way and it had feeling it just should've been done better than what we got out of it.If you're a fan of the book, this isn't the movie for you and it will offend. Go read the book if you haven't and then watch this movie out of curiousity, I just didn't care for it out of its lack of sense.

I've never read the book, but I suspect it will be very different to this film.

However, even if it is, the film was really good and I suggest just forgetting about the book and giving the movie a try and you may enjoy it despite the dodgy animation. :)

They've taken this book and interpreted it in completely the wrong way. This story isn't about the Boy, it's about the rabbit. And the story is supposed to be tragically beautiful. Not corny. Everything in the world today is being diluted and stripped of its raw beauty and turned into pure corniness.

This trailer doesn't make the movie look so bad... But I saw it today, and it is. :X I WANTED to like it, but the cartoon parts are REALLY bad. (Before you call me off on being a cartoon-hater, I LOVE cartoons. It wasn't the fact that it was a cartoon that made it bad--it just had various problems like bad lip syncing, bad animation, bad voiceacting, and overall not making sense in some scenes.)

There's a VERY specific cartoon version of The Velveteen Rabbit that I remember from when I was a kid. I believe it came out in '85 and was done by Atkinson Films. A VERY cherished childhood memory of mine. If possible, could you upload that one? That is....if you know which one I'm referring to. : )
