Never was the biggest country fan... I'm sure in the distant past I've uttered the words "I like pretty much all music except for rap and country." That isn't quite as true these days... songs like this are the reason why. Fantastic.

I give Country credit for taking care of their music better than R&B took care of their's.
R&B has become nonexistant in today's music. However, I think Country failed the Dixie Chicks, true country artist, who are a direct link to HOFs like the Mandrell sisters---due to good ol American Hatratism, the hypocrisy of democracy as Chris Rock so astutely put it.

The Dixie Chicks' vitriolic bile spewing public temper tantrum was more reactionary than the self propagandized dissent they pretend to reject. Their three year propaganda campaign, including the SUAS movie, was a penultimate model of disingenuous behaviour. They spent years simultaneously claiming victim status while publicly bashing people and organizations that, in some cases, had expressed little or no opinion of them whatsoever ie Red Cross &, the View. They are gone and for good reason.

I am so sick of hearing everyone take the Dixie chicks for one simple comment she made a long time ago. The fact is they made great music. They were just a victim of being human and putting their foot in their mouth. EVERYONE does it. They just did it publicly. How many Americans since have said that Bush was a terrible president? I don't know about you, but what threat did Iraq or Saddam Hussein pose to the
United States in 2001?? There was no "weapons of mass destruction" ound there. Iraq was a sworn enemy of Iran thru the years and helped keep them in check. They also were not helping Al Qiada or Bin Laden. The Dixie Chicks just thought like many other people that this war could be avoided!
Thus we would not be nation building again with our youngs lives and our billions

This was there first tape I ever bought! Used to listen to it everyday on my cassette/radio I got for my birthday (7th I think!)
Now I am 21 and was reminded of it when listening to Taylor Swifts "Our Song". It sounds really country and old school and made me think of this. I love it and still know all the words. :)

The founding fathers were not card carrying liberals. Some of them even owned slaves! The rights that Americans enjoy are enshrined in the constitution through the bill of rights.
