Not very informative. No 360 view. No showing of a torn ligament. Or the side ligaments. Amazing how incompetent these medical video-makers are. Doctors like to play hide the ball. They think they are so smart. Then they lose all their money in the stock market and get punitive divorces. They ain't so smart. So they should try harder to do good work.
you need to strengthen ur knee, the best way is to weight train lightly until you feel pain. dont push through it, stop as soon as u feel it. go back to the gym another time, do the same thing. do not push through the pain. as you go on you will notice it takes longer or heavier weights untill you feel the pain. keep doing this, the key is to not push through the pain and ur knee will gradually strengthen.. one thing u gotta realise is ur knee will never be the same. its life.....
Depends on how bad you tear your ACL. It's possible to get an operation where doctors shave off a piece of your patella bone and use that to replace your ACL, but it takes a very long time to recover.
@WtfItsSarah My doctor just said to stop doing sports for 10 days and so i did, but now that im back playing sports, sometimes i could feel it again. is this bad?
I guess your ACL just got strained (overstretched) or a small tear, or you wouldn't be able to do sports now. I had that about 2 years ago, no visible tear on the MRI so the doctor told me to do a lot of sports to strengthen the muscles but I guess I did too much. So 5 weeks ago, while jumping on a trampoline, I ripped my ACL in two and also tore the meniscus - I guess the knee just never goes back to normal after an injury like that so take it easy now and dont do too much
I suggest you rest often when doing sports. I'm in many sports as well, so what I do is work hard, but I know that when something starts hurting, ask your athletic trainer what's wrong and give it a lot of rest.
just found out I tore my cruciate ligament. I tore it playing basketball about a year ago and did not have insurance coverage so I had to let the discomfort and pain fade til about a few days ago playing baseball I tweaked it again and its worse then ever. Opting for the surgery. There goes my summer.
@ADAMMNNN I hurt mine pretty badly skiing two and a half years ago. It took about four months for the pain to stop, but then I was fine. Then six months ago, I completely tore it jumping down from a fence. I felt my tibia try to slide up the side of my femur. I thought I had broken it. It still hurts when pressure is applied in certain ways, and it's pretty uncomfortable the next day if I exercise on it. I've put on a few pounds not being able to exercise. I wish I could afford the surgery.
@Riflemanm16a2 Man bro I wish you the best. I mean you could live with it but I know you would rather have a whole new acl just like i got. My situation was worse then i thought. After my surgery the doc told me I had two other problems besides a completely torn ACL i also tore my meniscus and I had chipped my knee cap or had chips at the knee cap so they sanded that down. I will never ever ever go through this process again even if i tear it again just forget it. first week was hell.
@ADAMMNNN I just had an acl reconstruction last friday, a week ago. And i agree the first week sucks ass. They used part of my hamstring to reconstruct it. Was just wondering if they always use screws to hold it in place till it grows to the bone or what? Was looking on youtube for a few days but cant find much. that sucks you tore both at once, i wont go through this again either lol fuck this
@ChevroletTuff yeah bro they always use screws to hold the hamstring graft in place. The screws themselves actually dissolve on its own after about a year or two. I had my surgery this past July 7th. Now today august 20th Im walking. Still have a slight limp but damn i lost all my quad muscle. I cant run yet or jog. Depending on how fast you heal I say you should be feelin better by week 3 or 4. Good luck man.
@ADAMMNNN Thanks alot for replying so fast, and for answering my questions. I wasnt sure about the screws, cause they never told me about it. Good that you're doing well, do you have any pain now? And yeah my leg feels really weak, i have therapy on the 27th. Also you're supposed to walk in a brace for 6 months they told me, same for you? Hope you're doing well, it's painfull for the first week or so! And being off work sucks
@ChevroletTuff No prob. I have no pain really. Its just soreness and some discomfort. My doc gave me a brace and no crutches. He doesn't believe in the use of crutches. crazy. He told me that I could take the brace off when I feel comfortable enough too. I would also take the brace off to let my leg breath a bit. I used the brace for the first 3 weeks. Then I started to walk with it and took it off when I felt comfortable. The pain sucks but the boredom killed me cause I have to keep busy.
@ADAMMNNN That's good, bet you're glad to be over the pain and back on your feet. No shit no crutches? Im supposed to be on them for 3 weeks, and when im walking the brace is supposed to be on for 6 months. Cause they said it doesnt fully heal to the bone for that long. incase it buckles or i fall down or something it would re-tear. Did you completely tear it, cause mine completely tore off the bone. Yeah it's boring as hell, youtube is what i look forward to lol.
@ChevroletTuff Smoking will cause a lower count in Hemeglobin. When your Hemeoglobin gets lower so does you Oxygen carring capicity and you will lose your breath sooner then the average person. It is called Carboxhemeoglobin. Once that level is at 50% it can be fatal.
@ChevroletTuff sup man been a year or so haha... i'm 100% by the way. To answer your question, no i don't think i tore it off the bone! thats even worse i would think! i had a clean tear i suppose in between the ligament... hows your leg today?
i damaged mine playing football then tore my it completely about a year later during a game.i waited several months for an operation and it was well worth the initial few weeks of discomfort after the op. The thing i would stress is how important it is to do the rehab exercises and then build back up the muscle supporting your knee so you can continue to live as you did before you injury.
Hi, Can some one please suggest a good ACL surgeon who can give discount for self payee. I don't have insurance, but am ready to pay full amount. -- East coast region
same i got osd, which is really bad, my dreams are gone too, since even if i heal it will be in 3 years, i will miss out on a lot of practice, and never make it
hi thanks a lot 4 uploading this video...i am done with acl surgery on 6 oct..i am doing rehab now.. can you please tell me how acl reacts while doing all these excercises(after surgery) mine is a hamstring grapt...
I hurt my ligament of my right n Public transportation in Cleveland. I have to get a MRI but I do not have insurance. It is already six weeks and I can walk but slow and swollen when I do.

im really trying to figure out whether i have this injury when i did injure my knee i planted my foot and twisted i heard a popping sound followed by a kind of grinding it felt like my knee was on the inside of my leg:) then i flexed my muscles and it popped back into place it has now been a month and most of the swelling has gone down i cannot fully bend my knee but can almost straighten it i can run and have participated in a couple soccer training sessions without pain the paincame24hourslat
Not sure if anyone has already replied to you but I'm fairly certain you haven't torn it.
I've torn mine last week and (just found out this morning - gutted!) And theres no way I feel like I could play football (soccer) for a while, physio told me without surgury it would take at least a year until I'm back playing.
Sounds like you may have popped it in and out and the sound you heard was compressed air.
Well I hope you haven't torn it anyway mate, let us know how it goes.
i hurt my knee i dont know whats the problem tho... but when i bent it it hurts really bad... like i cant squat down b/c it hurts someone tell me what the problem?
i cant stand on my right leg, its swollen, and its very very painful. this is the thrid time it happen to me in less then a year. i may have torn all 3 ligaments thats what the doctor told me today. i cant afford the mri, but john stroger hosptial (cook county) has free health care to people that are low incomed. its the only hospital in illnois thats available

@ChevroletTuff The reason why it takes so long to heal is because there are no direct blood supplies to that area.
