AWESOME! I've almost been struck by lightning! I swear I heard the loud BOOM right before I saw the flash just across the street, and it hit a palm tree, knocking of a few branches! Amazingly, the tree survived, until these new people moved in and cut it down. I could feel the shock! What's even more amazing is lightning on other planets, like Jupiter, and the other gas giants, because their lightning discharges can reach 1000+ times more power than Earth's! I LOVE SCIENCE!

@bfjoro Unless, of course, you have a lightning conductor fastened to your house. With it being the tallest point and leading to to the ground, the lightning will follow it instead of your house. A tall tree works, too, though not quite as good.

Damn yesterday a little lighting storm went by and we could hear the thunder getting closer and closer my whole family was happy to hear it. Then while me and my bros were playing PS3 it went BOOM and we saw a flash of light out the window and the ground shake and all our power went out ><

I walked outside and look and the Power cable thingy was struck and wires were dangling.

Scary yet cool, so that day I went out and bought Uno and Pictionary and played with the family.
