I honestly think that out of all of the companions of Dragon Age so far, Anders has the deepest story and is the most complex character. He has been through so much - and struggles between being himself - the kind, compassionate healer, and Justice - the insatiable urge to right what is wrong with the world and his own people. Damn! Bioware should hire you to do the trailers! Most of their official trailers are laaaaame. This was awesome. Totally makes me want to play the game despite the abysmal level design and silly Dynasty Warriors combat animations.

Same spirit, though Justice has become corrupted by anger and grief from some of his and Anders experiences. Really very tragic, he was so sweet in Awakening. They sometimes call what he's become 'vengeance'. When you think about it, though, Justice and vengeance are two sides of the same coin, so it was probably inevitable.

I know I'm lame for bringing up U.S. history but Anders reminds me of John Brown, who killed innocents to free the slaves and sparked the Civil War. People argue over whether he was a villain or hero all the time, just like Anders, who killed innocents to free mages and ended up also starting a war. Ugh, I'm such a nerd. Anyway just a thought. The only thing that seems to set demons apart from other spirits is their desires. Justice talks about this in Awakening, and recognizes even then that his brief experiences in the mortal realm and of mortal emotions has given him his own desires.
Also, I don't think it was ever established that it has to be a demon for you to be an abomination. An abomination seems to be a possessed mage in general. Wynne IMO is also an abomination.
That was pretty damn good. I loved how you tied the scenes from awakening with DA:2. One of the best tributes of Anders I've seen, and I've seen quite a few :)

@AronaBFC Best would be relative though. Merrill tried her best to make something better for her clan and you can see how badly that ended. Even Meredith did her 'best' with what she considered the 'mage problem'. Anders on the other hand has an abomination who almost killed a mage he was saving cause he couldn't control the spirit. He hates templars with a passion even if they are good ones and defends every mage and even tries to get you to downtalk blood magic to Templars.
@SelejX Well.. I don't think there is a good place to argue and actually I don't want to. The characters give me an inspiration, no metter how good or evil they are, and I make the vids about them. That's all ))
He also disapproves of blood magic very strongly. The circumstances in Kirkwall drive decent well intentioned people to crimes of passion and desperation because they all are being kept cornered with their backs against a wall, and no hope in sight. People loose sight of logic under conditions like in II.
@SelejX But that is the beauty of Bioware characters, they aren't perfect, they have actual human flaws. Anders is someone who has been chased all his life and treated terribly by Templars and he's formed a grudge. You can't really blame that he sides with mages all the time. I think it is amazing how Bioware developed the characters, they all seem so real! And unlike some videogames, not everything can possibly go right. Especially with the characters. :)
@SelejX Weather or not that is likeable is a matter of perspective. I think if I were a mage in Kirkwall, I'd want to bring down the chantry and declare war on the Templars, too. Weather that is an act of terrorism or an act of revolution depends entirely upon who wins and goes on to write the history. I think most of Anders actions are pretty easily justified by the circumstances, and the few unjust actions he's capable of are simple human mistakes born from anger and grief.

His most unjust action would be what he did to the Chantry at the end game and ending the lives of all those innocent people. There were plenty of mages that were perfectly content living in the circle and now will be forever hunted by Anders' actions, win or lose.
