  • I would give my non-existent left nut to eat something Miyazaki cooked. I say non-existent because I am female and therefore do not have nuts, BUT IF I DID that's what I'd use 'em for. haha

  • He chain smokes and binge drinks while pulling all nighters in the studio.

He will look younger at 70 than you will when you are 60.

He is the eternal father of animation.

  • Did he set the pot on top of the drawings?

  • @LlTHIUM blank paper dude, black paper...

  • I would totally work in Studio Ghibli for 1 strenuous day for free. Just to see the process.

  • was this the whole "behind the scene" ? i watched it a loooooooooooooooong time ago

on the dvd and it seemed longer i remember :(

  • Studio Ghibli cooking show xD

  • As if there aren't enough reasons to love SG. Seriously, the staff is so dedicated and talented, and the world is a better place with their work.

  • so am i getting this right?

first they draw frame by frame on papper then they scann it in to the computer and animate, Lineart, coloring in for example photoshop or something?

  • Miyazaki-sama works so hard. ;A; <3

  • 8:25 and over, it is so heart-warming to watch him watch them as they eat lol he is prolly like "ah, these kids. They cant draw the way i want them too, but i think we can make ghibli animators out of them yet. " err maybe he wouldnt say "ghibli" animators, but just --Animator.

  • its spaghetti with olive oil

  • Nuuuuuuu. He's smoking, causing him to die earlier. D:

  • he is AMAZING!

  • Director cook for their meal =D I also want to eat!~

  • Does anyone have the song - which I believe is "It's hard work" from the film - that begins at about 4:37, and I mean this exact version sung by this very man. Or does anyone know which search terms I should use to find it here? Help is very greatly appreciated, for I might have fallen in love with this version of the song.

  • @EngelbertEdelholz Oh, nevermind. Found it.

  • @EngelbertEdelholz Where did you find it? I really like it, but I don't know what to search for.

  • @greybutterfly2 "Yuya", from the Image Album of Spirited Away.

  • @EngelbertEdelholz Sweet! Thanks a bunch.

  • @RoakaiDub He does seem to say "spaghetti ga dekimashita" during the video and it looks like there is sauce or something left over on the plate in the end.

  • "press here on all of the buttons" ahaha

  • THIS is skill... THIS is animation... I love it.

  • Does anyone know, in the recording session when they are recording the Jap Dub of the movie. There's a song that appears right after one of Tonari no Totoro's (My Neighbor Totoro's) song. What's the name of the song and from which Studio Ghibli movie is it from?

  • omg! it's a lot harder than i thought! praises to mr. miyazaki and his team! hurray!

  • I want the narrator to narrate my life...with english subs

  • This is the Nippon TV Special right? But is it made by Studio Ghibli? I need to somehow cite this in a dissertation I am writing, and cannot find any production information anywhere!

  • @Elphaba555 It's probably too late by now, but you can find this video on the English (Disney) release of Spirited Away, on Disk 2.

  • @sygo7g yup! btw, your 'Golden Boy' kintaro oe icon is awesome :)

  • om nom nom nom nom

  • Theres no such thing of 23:00 PM

  • I love how they play all the music from his other animations in the background =] I heart miyazaki!

  • i was wandering ...is the "kohaku river" real or was just made up?

  • Myam myam...

  • Yea, i heard that if you leave your workplace precisely after working hours, they will assume you as lazy...lol..so if u are supposed to leave at 5pm, don't leave yet. Leave later. Not sure when but not 5pm. lol

  • actually there's more "behind the scenes" parts - like where they're recording with the voice actors and making the bathhouse noises, etc. check koksotter's videos.

  • I think I would die if I worked in Japan for more than a day- so much dedication!

  • Crack your whip on your employees miyazaki

  • ._. i really wanna be an animator. x.x my art teachers keep sending me to all these camps.

Dx but i'm real lazy, gaaah!

  • @artsygirl96

    ...still instrested in animating? =)

  • @RainFTWs yeah dude :P

  • I have so much respect for how they take all this time and hard work to animate. Miyazaki seems like a great guy. I love that woman's reaction to the fact that he cooked their meal.

  • that ando guy somehow get on my nerves

  • spaghetti without the sauce?

  • @malyheradr He makes "Ramen", which is a noddle soup, not spaghetti. :)

  • @animdesk what he/she was preferring to was the first food they had..i'm also curious..without sauce?

  • @animdesk no. It's spaghetti, not ramen. The man's voice specifically says "the spaghetti is here/ready." Also, no ramen is ever that thick. But they've dipped it into soy sauce, I think.

  • @hanluy1215 Its ramen. The translators put in spaghetti instead for the american audience lol

  • @RoakaiDub I'm talking about 5:05, and the subs are correct. Also, at 5:27, the narrator says "Kosaka is today's chef... he's cooking like an Italian pro."

You're referring to 6:03, when the narrator says "instant ramen."

  • @animdesk I think he was talking about the first guy who actually makes Spagetti. In the vid they even say how he's good with Italian cuisine. It's Miyazaki that makes the Poor man's salt ramen.

  • Comment removed

  • @animdesk I think he was talking about Kosaki-san's spaghetti dish, not Miyazaki's ramen. :) The spaghetti he made looks like it might be an oil-based sauce instead of cream or tomato, which is why you can't see it.

  • smoking on the job! how rude :P

  • hmmmm my friend worked in japan and he have to work overtime everyday....just like them

  • @trivuong Probably of the high living expenses in Japan...

  • yeah! he have 2 kid and wife in tokyo, i know him since in college he work as a electrical engineer, some time he have to work 14-15 hour (don't know if it true) but i know japanese people work overtime....is it already in news that told japanese people have to stop working overtime for their health
