I find it amusing that - at least in Eastern Europe - small business stores have no CCTV or other security measures, yet don't have problems with thievery. On the other hand, a nation-wide small shop network will have up to 3 cameras for a 30 m^2 store. Seems most shoplifters aren't as ruthless as the media would like you to think, and pick their targets according to their own ethics.
