I'm a minority, but I have to say, coming from upstanding good New Yorkers, please, please please put an end to the West Indian Parade, the Puerto Rican Parade and the Dominican Parade. @nazumac The big issue over this is that the man that was arrested did nothing but argue with the police officer. This man had asked a Sergeant if he could walk across the lawn and then these other police officers came at them telling them to get off. This man was arrested for "punching" the officer. As we can all see here, no such thing occurred. That's the big issue.

It's freaking hilarious, 46 people shot in 48 hours in New York, all of them black including multiple children and a few at the parade, and the only thing that inspires outrage in the black community and from black leaders is some loud mouthed trouble maker getting himself arrested for being a dick. These people are about as fucked up as a community as it's possible to be. I really think they have no idea how to behave in civilized society, there is little hope for them at this point.

He wasn't arrested he was detained. Just cause u go in cuffs doesn't mean your arrested as the big mouth was shouting. Maybe he shouldn't squared off with that cop and bumped chests and he wouldn't have gotten his ass handed to him. Also as 1 person talked about St. Patties day parade; theirs a big difference between pukin on the sidewalk and shots fired and a passerby gets killed. I challenge u to tell me the last time that happened at a St. Patties day parade, its almost commonplace @ this one

In my 30 years living in NYC I've attended this parade since 1981. At the same time in 1981 I began my 17 years working on 5th Ave.@ 89th St. Let me tell you, I've never seen the police jump on anyone at the St.Patrick's Day Parade, ever, even though we ended up boarding the windows and locking our doors to keep the participants and people on the sidewalk away from urinating, vomiting and fighting on our properties. By far the St. Pattie's Day Parade is the worst yet the cops never bust.

I don’t see any wrongdoing from the officer who arrested the man in sky blue shirt no matter who he is. When you are given an order by the authority you should obey or face the consequences. The cops are doing their job and mostly it is to protect us. This has nothing to do with race issues.

Also, it's about how famous/powerful the person is. If this was Obama, I'm sure the cops would have done whatever he said.

@m015094 To make my point I used a deceased person because it's non-reflective. Cops don't act the same at every occasion. They act differently at the St. Patrick's Day Parade or Gay Pride Day Parade. You are correct, in your tiny way, the President Of The United States would be treated differently, yes. Again, my only advice to Floy is, wear a tailored jacket and tie next time.
