It's ok if you don't think they should. But there is a distinct difference in the 2 countries you cited in that both of those countries have mandated military service. US/UK soldiers volunteer. It is simply thanking them for serving their country. Even the end of the commercial on the video simply says "thank you".

It's a shame you think the goal in Iraq is to beat down Iraqis. Remember Saddam swearing the UN inspectors would never be allowed to do their job there, or how he swore we would be wiped out instantly (or something along those lines) if we invaded. It seemed pretty obvious he was hiding something. If peace can be achieved there, how could it ever be worse for the Iraqis than it was under Saddam, as he, his sons, and his regime were known for genocide, theft, and rape.
