Lets promote a discussion and not get lost in anger. There are many factors contributing toward obesity. But I only hear about PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY and lifestyle. That seems rather unfair. Is the camera lens so narrow that other items get missed.
It's always a pleasure to see the truth, especially when the truth helps people improve their lives. I've devoted my life to this quest. Great vid, keep spreading the word! Here's a bell ringer for some of you. When I was growing up type 2 diabetes wasnt called type 2 diabetes. It was called what it is, SUGAR DIABETES. The lobbyists for the sugar industry worked hard to remove their product name from the disease. Washington is full of spineless bastards!
well, it starts with the person. and with good parenting. obama should worry about other things. it ain't his fault that there's such high obeasity rates. is it really his responsibility?
Well, the obesity epidemic started at about the time when the government told us what to eat. And it's mainly their fault. The government should do serious research on obesity. Their influence is greater than you think.
At least Mr. Quebec did not say it was Bush or Republicans' fault. :) Surely, nobody forces you to eat a high-carb diet that the medical experts suggest you to do. I think the key is self-education, in the sense that you should forget about everything the government and the so-called experts tell you what to eat or not to eat, and do your own research. Experiment with your body, and have your doctors check your body to ensure everything is good (cholesterol, blood tests, etc.)
I actually agree with a lot of that. Self education is the best thing people can do right now becuase the US healthcare system focuses more on treatment than prevention anyway. And self education, that just goes back to my original point, that it starts at home, with parenting.
I'm ordering books from the public library to learn how the body works. I did Biology 101 and 201 a few decades ago, and forgot most of it. :) Once I've mastered the basics, I will focus on the hormones and the digestion system.

Obama says to everyone that he is man who wants to do the right thing. I hope he will do something about obesity.
