It is a bit weird in Germany; you tend not to find as many 'big big big' Supermarkte.

I didn't drink much in the way of fizzy drinks until I was 16. I noticed that they really do damage your teeth. I tend to drink Ginger-Beer as all good UK citizens should :D It's pretty difficult to find Ginger-Beer in Germany sadly :(

Germany does have Spar, at least the Black forest region does. But no Hypermarches like in France or the US.

Fizzy drinks are very bad for your health. Even the diet ones. The fake sugars can actually trick your body into releasing more insulin and you can build up insulin resistance because of that.

@markvergeer Tbh most of these really big Super-Markets are pretty evil in one sense but fine in another.

We have an issue with cheap alcohol in the UK and this is often a factor as it's available too cheaply in the likes of the Super-Markets. On the other hand the level of competition does at least give they consumer a bit of slack at other expenses..

Yes we do have Spar here and in the UK.

The Insulin overproduction explains it as a factor for Diabetes. I read about a guy who went blind!
