  • Amon amarth doesn't even call their own music viking metal, but just melodic death metal. They may have viking inspired lyrics, but they are still a melodic death metal band.

  • amon amarth sucks so much

  • @ganfald You suck you fucking asshole.

  • :,) I Want to be a Fucking Viking! What An Excellent Group!!!

  • det här är fan världens bästa viking metal band

  • I only make this comment to provoke thought, Is Amon Amarth viking metal as you call it becuase of Lyrical content or musical content. Do you consider Led Zepplin Immigrant song to be viking metal or even metal?

  • why start genre raping each other. your bull-crap sectist stuff drives metal into factions. not a good idea for the hope of music. real fucking metal one one side, false metal and everything else on the other. why try and classify 2 good bands, or any number of bands, when quite simply, its metal or it aint. respect theyre good points, and enjoy the difference. why compare CC to iron maiden, or amon amarth to this, its semi pointless and mindnumbing. stop biching, start banding together.

  • I enjoy this when I have diarrhea after a long night of beer-pong.

  • hilsener, Viking brødre!!!! hails!!

  • Hail from Québec ! haha Ostie que c'est bon !

  • gotta love those lows

  • My favourite Månegarm album.

  • EPIC AND AWESOME!!! Greetings from Germany to all European People and of course to Norway, Sweden and Finland.. \m/

  • JosePablo24, when you get my reply, I'm just messing with ya. Other people's ignorance is sadly nothing you can fix.

  • This is music to pillage and drink 'till you fall into the snow to.

  • @Kenko87 good observation good sir, for it was us NORWEGIANS who found America, there might have been a few sweds along with htem but yeah it was the Norwegians.

  • @BAMF5550123 Are you serious your saying Norwegians found america first i thought it was some columbus guy.

  • @Petasucksballs91367 yes, a norwegian viking was the first one to find america (indeed vikings could rule the earth, and they ruled the oceans). But ofcourse, he didnt care about such a poor land, instead colombus was a big idiot who came here seeking heaven and destroying every indian civilization..... i wish that would never have happened and see how mayas and other Indian civilizations became powerful, haha

  • @JosePablo24 oh, btw, the viking nickname was something like "read beard", hehe

  • I bet it means ´´Our dead soul``

  • I love this song.

  • sweden!! >:D Run ! .and America powned we sweds knwe how to come over the atlantic like 700 years before you

  • @williammoller9 vikings knew everything about sailing at such an early time ;)

  • listen to 3:07-3:42 really loud!! its funny, when i listen to this album on my cd player i always have to play that part over and over and over and over.....

  • viking metal !!! fucking5 stars!!

  • @maoismlzm wow this kid has sickle up his as and a hammer in his skull... other wise i dont see why some commie shitload makes to pagan music srsly

  • \m/

  • The Riff of 0:17-0:34 is stolen from Mithotyn - In the Sign of the Ravens...

But this song sounds better ;D

  • Nah well it sounds a bit like it, but Mithotyn play it a other way.

  • Intro has got to be one of the sickest things to Windmill to

  • 0:32 - 0:42 My fav part

  • I love the viking Metal

  • This intro is so fucking brutal and the whole album just kicks ass.

    ROK!

  • yes... this is great band...

  • I like this band, I feel this is the direction Finntroll is headed with Vreth writing their lyrics now. I fell in love with scandinavian folk metal when i heard Finntroll. The humpah party shit was good and I wish they sould keep that up. But their new direction toward the fantasy/historical tale is nice. This band has had that from the start apparently and it is a very good direction!

  • I thought Katla writes the lyrics?

  • Your right, they brough Katla into the band to write the lyrics in Ur jordens Djup. Ive heard theyr working on new material not sure who does 'em now but it would be nice if Katla did couse them lyrics are brutal!!

  • too fucking good, and this song is extraordinary!

  • haha, i dont know when english peopole started to listen to swedish pagan/viking metal.

or maybe some of you aren't from england.

    you get the point. XD

  • metal knows no nations pal!

  • Thats pure poetry.

    I love this band.

  • there is not such thing as pagan or viking metal its folk metal stupid noob . And brits do have some viking blood from all the rape and pillage that was done there by vikings

  • Take it easy.

I didn't write that to insult anyone, but i dont think you can understand that. sorry anyway.

  • meh im just annoyed becouse every one seems to come up with some stupid titles for folk metal

  • Sry i did use my dads Account... sry

  • AMON AMARTH!

  • No you're wrong mate, Amon Amarth or Bathory would be "viking metal", folk metal is different (But still good!)

  • mmm ensiferum kicks ass

  • isn't amon amarth just melodic death with viking lyrics?

  • yes it is.

  • @Metalscavenger Not at all.

  • @Hlafdije well, according to themn they are ;)

  • @Metalscavenger

    Yes they are.

  • @Metalscavenger Yes they are. =)

  • @Metalscavenger Hey, actually i believe Amon Amarth made up some kind of new genre(so many sub-genres now days xD but indeed they are very different), lets say its "viking metal"

Amon Amarth does sound melodic and death, but its totally different from the normal melodic death metal bands (just compare Amon Amarth to Children of Bodom or Kalmah xD)

Listen to "Wulfgar" please, it sounds a lot like Amon Amarth, and its a great band too

  • @JosePablo24 you are forgetting amon amarth is one of the first melodic death metal bands, so that's the genre they invented

  • @Metalscavenger ...........wake up little boy, it is totally different

and saying amon amarth invented melo-death is fucking stupid, is like saying that metallica invented thrash.

  • @JosePablo24 are you trying to win an internet arguement? xD

  • @Metalscavenger im not trying to win anything cuz i know im right.... your comments just pissed me off

  • @JosePablo24 wow, you care enough about me to get pissed off by what I say, I'm honoured xP

  • @Metalscavenger Lol! you are a funny guy. Just to let you know, i dont really care about you, but about the comment, and specially about the band :) [I HATE IGNORANCE]

sorry for being rude, but im used to people being like that to me on youtube, hehe

  • @JosePablo24 well, I just don't care much about how it's called, they can call it ass metal and I would still like it ^^

  • @Metalscavenger its awesomness, one of the reasons is because they sound very unique and different to anytihng else, if u cant see that then you dont know abo0ut music

  • @JosePablo24 Metallica may not have inveted thrash, but they defined it.

  • @BREAKMEKNEES That's false the band who defined thrash as nowadays was Kreator, nothing about no one of the "big 4", They only are the most known

  • @Metalscavenger i'd say that rather than melodic death (this make me think of children of bodom and so on), amon amarth is death metal with melodies xD

  • @wiltronen and what do you think melodic death metal is? try comparing to old in flames(before 2000), the absence, old dark tranquility, ...

  • @Metalscavenger

yeah, amon amth said that self :)

  • Historical speaking though there is alot of genetic similiarities between Scandivians, British, and Normans. Since the Vikings colonized all these areas and interbred with the population it has created esentially a viking world to say. So take the battle of hastings for example, that is not Saxons vs Normans, that's vikings vs vikings.

  • On the northeastern coasts of England up to scotland the males is said to be like 30 - 40 % scandinavian atleast, but far into the country, like london etc and those places there not such thing at all. Along the normandy you could say people are abit scandinavian aswell...

  • I'm not much of a lyrics person when it comes to metal, so language serves no barrier for me!

  • That's where metal's beauty lies.

Anyone with an ear that's trained from listening this kind of metal will surely instantly recognize the difference between a drinking song, a viking warrior tale, an epic song, and so on :P

Tis about the vibes, it is :)

  • True, But i do love bands that can paint a picture with there music/lyrics.

But you have to have a trained ear to understand the lyrics sometimes! :)

  • or you just need the album booklet to look up the lyrics

  • aww that's no fun

  • this bands is very very nice
