Awesome car, but I just don't get these "burnouts". What does it really prove to take a nice car out and abuse your tires, engine, drivetrain, etc.

@els56 1) Burnouts are fun. 2) Burnouts do show that your car has the power to back up the sound. 3) Burnouts allow you to make a lot of noise and smoke. Need I say more =)

I had the galaxie ; 64 marauder 390 hipo ,4 spd , 4.11 gear with factory locker . ran 14.4 with street tires ; this was in 1971 . blowed it up ; built another 390 ran 12.3 with 9 in slicks . LIKE YOUR CAR ; NICE COLOR !

When you put in the 460, what kind of oil pan did you use? Did the original pan from the Galaxie fit?

We're putting the same engine into our 63 Galaxie and can't find an answer to this question anywhere.

What kind of transmission is in it? What other parts did you need to put it in?

spec. and have a 460 for lunch -- i have

a 63 gal --with 427 --and 64 merc -/427

both 4 speeds -- ill run that 460 in the grond -!

The 460 wasnt an option.

The 429 is the only one to interchange with the 460, neither came in that car.

352`S,,390`S Were popular in them,& they interchange with a 428.

The 427 was THE option.. Go with a 390...w/either a c6 auto or toploader 4 speed.

And Crager SS`s of coarse.!
