  • 1:42 - 1:50 AMAZING good lord

  • How did she manage to catch her breath with this speed??? Amazing!

  • It was great! I just think they made it too fast.

  • Awesome voice and a very beautiful girl. Good luck at Cincinnati

  • what a dress...

  • Just curious how old she is? She's definitely a singer, and is going to be fabulous!

  • she's talented.. ppl should stop criticizing esp. if THEY can't sing like this

  • I rather enjoyed this performance. I've never heard this aria done this fast before but if she can do it, go for it.

I'm sure Miss Jessica Lynn will go far if she plays the music industry game right. Good luck with your career and keep that voice going strong. :D

  • I posted this video to show those who watch this video how talented my friend is. Its purpose was not to solicit the opinions of "the masters". It was one of the last songs on the program of her senior recital. If it's too fast it's probably because she was anxious. Be that as it may... do me a favor and only comment if you know her or can actual benefit her. Everybody else go teach a master class or something.

  • You did get all the tones right in the most high part, but you've come far.

You should practice more and someday you can sing it.

There's a lot of power in your voice, and in the high tones you lose it, so try to reduce that!

Good Luck! Keep up the good classic's!

  • ahahahahahahha!!!!!! schumacher!!!! ahahahah fantastic!! ppppuhauauhauha!!! she's orribleeeee!!!!

  • too fast!!! you're not Schumacher!!!! what are you doing???? bleaaaa

  • it's like something was going to explode in front of her while doing the aria!

  • My jaw is on the floor over here. A little bit of a tuning issue on the first coloratura passage, but clearly it is well within your capability to sing the hell right out of this aria. This was faster than this aria is usually heard, but oh my goodness, what wouldn't I give for just a tenth of that vocal agility, to say nothing of the sheer, effortless power. WOW!!

  • The fact that she sang it so fast actually lets us all see that she has a nice control. What a staccato! She really has trouble with German, but as soon as she gets it, she will be amazing to watch. I wish I could do it, lol. I have the range, but not the voice,!.....

  • the song name is the queen of the night, but Rondo Veneziano changed it to jupiter 2

  • Where can I find out more about Jessica Lynn. I had trouble googling her. What else has she done?

  • She is currently studying at Cincinnati.

  • Wonderful talent. Should be encouraged!! Slowing down, learning German pronunciation and remembering the lyrics are the easy parts!!! Go Girl!!

  • OMG - The third "huurt" Is amazing

  • She's Awesome!! who care about the tempo!!! it great slow or fast!!!!

  • Honey, slow down! That pianist looks as if he's struggling to keep up!

She clearly has talent, but it won't be realized if the audience is made to focus on her tempo.

  • Great voice but she's going just too fast! you can't apreciate in a better way her high notes. But still, she's one of the best versions i've heard till now

  • she´s great she make a really good performance maybe too fast but i really like her voice

  • come on stop making bad opinions about her you know she making her effort to sing! and you know what theres not many people that can sing like that! so i recommend you to shut up and enjoy! the opera!

  • the piano pushed her too fast to lose some weight! just kidding..she's great! i like her!

  • Great voice! Needs to learn the right words though! Also, too fast!

  • tempo:/

  • Jess....I love this and you too.....Bing sitch!!!! *wink* LOL

  • that was....very fast. but i enjoyed it.

  • she has a great voice... needs to control the tempo (pianist maybe)... and the arpeggios... Great leggato!!

  • in the "lower" tones (if they can be clasiffied as low xD) the voice of her is the best i´ve heard till now in YouTube, very powerfoul and acurrate, but needs to work the higher and illogical tones, once she got that as perfect as the rest (without the problem of the tempo) she´ll be my favorite Queen of the Night Aria on You tube :P, good work

  • thats incredible that you can sing it that fast and have it still be so accurate. great job. especially the run at the end before the last section of that motif.

  • She is great! but too fast, probably the piano pushed her too fat! pity.

  • I meant too fast, typo. sorry.

  • Sing Jess!!! EEEOOOOOOTAH!!!

  • her coloratura is a little bit too light, but i really like it :)

  • a bit fast

  • Well the pianist is a idiot.... not her fault. She is great.

  • What bout rehearsals? she probably agreed with it... she might have even chosen it that way.. BY THE GO SEE "OPERA KID" here on youtube.. ITS VERY NICE

  • How dare you?! If you listen closely to the 2 opening measures, you hear that the accompanist begins at a conservative tempo. Then the singer begins at a much faster pace (probably from nerves-- understandable), and the pianist adjusts flawlessly and beautifully. Show the accompanist due respect!

  • Bravissima for her age....a superb voice.

She has to work a little bit on german but it's remarcable.

    Brava!

  • DANG! That was amazing! I'll bet not one person who's made a less than flattering comment could do better. Keep at it, you're terrific!!

  • why on earth is it so fast?

    good job:)

  • This young lady has the voice, but whoever is teaching her should let the natural voice, as heard in the top notes, be the guide NOT to COVER or FORCE THE MIDDLE VOICE into an unnatural position. This girl has tremendous possibilities to become a great operatic singer.

  • I've listened to this twice now, and I do enjoy the performance. I can't speak for the German, since I don't speak that language at all, however I'll echo the sentiment that you're singing fast. That in itself is, in my view, fairly impressive, but don't rush through the aria. Remember what it's about, and enjoy singing it!

Good luck, I look forward to seeing you in the future. =)

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA. This is too rushed. Like she can't wait to finish the piece so she could go eat or something, hahahahaha. And her chest is too distracting, hahahahaha

  • You have a lovely voice! This was very fast lol

  • Great Job, ur voice is amazing!!! Also ur intonation was pretty good

  • Why does almost everyone on youtube an expert and fill the need to criticize? Great job Jessica. Keep singing and growing in your craft.

  • I enjoyed this immensely, Jessica you are wonderful

  • Wow, did you have a flight right after this perfomance or what? Why so fast? Lovely young voice. Slow down.

  • Fabulous job Jess!!!!!!!!!

  • you arent intonated .she stuns all the time .good voice terrible intonation

  • As everyone else said, too fast, but it was awesome. I don't know German, so I can't tell you anything about pronunciation or anything. So, just look at what other people have said. If Audacity would record 'What U Hear' again, I would record this and slow it down a bit because it is great.

  • Damn girl, slow down! I felt like I was watching it on high speed. . .but the tone of your voice is lovely!

  • You have a fantastic voice - one of the better I've heard on this piece. You just need to watch the intonation on the F-A-C-F high runs and on the minor runs towards the end. You have a lot of potential to become a really great dramatic coloratura soprano ;) Brava!

  • amost die !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! too fasttttt !!!! ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah !!! agonic !!! maybe is the director...the singer must be obedient with his/her director.-

  • Absolutely great voice,BUT needs attention to details and TOO TOO TOO FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The voice definetely has potential. I do think that she should have a full grasp of the text and it's meaning. I say this because she seems to be smiling throughout much of the aria. I'd like to assume this rather than think it's bad acting.

  • I think this young lady shows promise! I do beleive that she needs to be mindful of vocal health and to be careful when singing aria such as this. The voice itself is gorgeous!

    To address everyone's comments:

We, as singers are always growing and learning new things. The Character, the translation, diction, and vocal technique. Don't be so quick to bash when all us had to learn everything piece by piece no matter how good we are now!

  • yea you could tell she was nervous she messed up a lil but it was very good

  • bajalae a tu tren peroro eso si que pinche bocerron se carga(slow stop your train)

  • nice technique...practice will perfect it...i mean you got the right stuff and i guess you got carried away from being nervous. This song is like a machine gun and you my lady is one!

  • Amazing...how old is she?

  • TOO FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    SLOW DOWN!

I'm just glad that someone black is singing this song! I'm glad that not only white people can sing opera! I'm black as well and I'm going into opera! So she was ok! Nice job over all, but the tempo has got to go!

  • Too fast, but wonderful vocals. Keep up the good work.

  • I think the "harsh tone" is by all means justified. It is better to be honest with her than to sit back and watch talent be destroyed by irresponsible vocal instructors and conceited pride. If this woman wants to become a professional singer she will have to learn to be humble and analyze criticism. I am a singer as well and a member of an opera choir in Germany, and I know what I am talking about.

  • why is she runnig ?

  • Boo...im pleased because this vocal quality doesn't always come from our beloved HBCU's, however this is entirely too fast. Also, your higher notes are go sharp, but i blame that on the speed. But, keep up the good work young lady, I am sure we will see your name again.

  • This was simply astounding! Superb...by far one of the best versions on YouTube!

  • you can clearly hear at the beginning that she attempts to slow the tempo herself, but if the accompaniment continues to go too fast, the show must go on...am i right?? and this is a hard piece period!!1 hard at the righ ttempo, EVEN MORE DIFFICULT at an accelerated pace. Saaaaaaaang Jess!!!

  • This is not the Kentucky Derby!! It is difficult enough as Mozart composed it. However, the piece should always stand in the foreground - the singer is just an instrument. Of course, interpretation is the only freedom a singer has. Her tempo destroys the song and her voice; her music instructor should be paddled. I do not think that her knowledge and experience in singing is enough for her to be singing arias like this. Keep it up at this rate, and she won't have a voice left in 5 years.

  • Oh, I almost forgot! She also should have got together with a German instructor and gone over her pronunciation! It is a disgrace and one cannot understand one single word - unforgivable in classical singing!!

  • Hey, that is a pretty harsh tone. But I think her German is non-existent too. She also took a breath between flam-met um mich her... But she sang all the notes, and not that badly either. By the way, reading below, it is an Aria, not a song... I don't see why her voice should deteriorate just because her German sucks and her tempo is bad. But yes, it is a f.... hard one to sing. Sigh!

  • Way too fast! You just ran through this song without ANY expression or passion! Yes, you do have a voice, but singing opera also consists of pronunciation and clarity!! Sometimes less is more, darling!!

  • Whoa. First of all, that was too fast. Second and more importantly, you need to learn the words. Sorry, you show a lot of promise and the high notes are there, but you need to sing the words correctly if you're going to perform this in public. And on the internet. Finally there are a few wrong intervals in there. Please re-learn this aria slowly and carefully.

  • Brava! Gorgeous voice. There are only two things, I do believe it is a little too fast. Even though you can sing it that fast (and God bless you for that), it loses character and doesn't allow you to get in character. And be careful with the german. It gets a little sloppy sometimes, and believe me, I know this is not an easy language. Anyway, BRAVA!

  • It's excellent! Your high notes are just incredible! I, however, would have loved to see you get into the character more. But yes, your voice is wonderful indeed.

  • SING!!!!!!!!! play sir adam

  • Excellent!!! Professional!

  • wow, she has one hell of a voice. XD and this song is starting to grow on me...

  • WOW!!!! I've heard sopranos singing this aria AS the Queen of the Night that didn't sound as good. Brava!!!!

  • I love it Jess...personally I like the faster tempo, becasue not many can execute the melismas at that tempo. It's hard moving a voice that size so fast...much love! And TheAleph74...again learn how to spell INTONATION before you criticize her!!!!

  • Nice voice but again, some entonation problems (the piano was also a little flat).

  • Yes!!!!!!!!! You better sing girl..

  • You are me new favorite!!! LOL....Amazing....faster than normal, but I like it lol....such great stage presence!!! MY FAV!!

  • she did great.

  • that was wonderfull love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you move to fast but out side of that it great

  • SING JESS!!!!

  • great sound.. but it sounds a little bit rushed..
