I have a dear friend who did that once. She called me & just whispered something like "here it is" or "They're on" and just held her phone very still in front of her. I think it was in very poor taste for Adam to stop the show to chide someone about being on their cell phone. This strikes me as very "Diva"...like "how dare you do something else other than focus 100% of your attention on ME?!" Adam needs to get over himself. He isn't big enough for these kinds of of antics yet. Dude is still relatively unknown. I get that many cell phone users are rude but to interrupt the show? He interrupted the show more than she did.

To me it is a problem because they were doing video and audio recordings of the event which was a smaller intimate venue. The producers/owners of the establishment should have said no cell phones or something, you can see a sea of cell phone screens recording him/taking pictures of him throughout the whole performance. Actually trying to hold a conversation on a cell phone when you are in a setting like that makes you an inconsiderate asshole.

That's very typical of America. In Europe, something like that happens and no one cares. Actually, the artist is absolutely right. But it would never be in the news or anything. Who cares? Still, it's disrespectful to be in the front row at a concert, accoustic even, and talk on the phone! And then people are surprised when the security rules get harsher and harsher. One day, they won't be any cellphones allowed anymore!

If they're were 200 people talking on their phone or texting in the front rows of that concert they should all be called out, not just this woman. That doesn't excuse her from her actions though. You can hear it in certain videos that she really was yelling into the phone. You can hear one person for a long time. So the fact that she said that all she got to do was dial the phone is kinda dumb. Adam's not an idiot, you can see him looking at her for a long time while the song was playing.

He wasn't trying to be rude and if it were a normal concert he wouldn't have cared, but they were filming it for a website so they were trying to get it to be as professional as possible, not to mention if you watch the footage you can hear her yelling into her cellphone, its a bit distracting. But whatever, not really that big of a deal anyways.

Even in an emergency, you show some consideration and get out of the room with your phone so you aren't distracting and are able to hear! Duh! And if she was truly doing it to let her mother hear the concert, why was she yelling as he stated? Even if her mother's hard of hearing, she could have connected with her outside of the room first........some people are just so obnoxious and don't bother to think of others, whether it's the performer or the people around her getting annoyed!

What if the phone call was an emergency? If you are on stage in front of a crowd you should know that shit like that is gonna happen anyway so don't pay any attention and get on with the performance. Very unprofessional on Adam's part. Also, he sounded horrible in the beginning - LOL!

There happens to be more then one vid that shows the same scene except the other one is where you can hear voices right beside the camera man standing there and the echo of voices is what you hear, therefore, Adam stopped the song because it was being TAPED.....for a show for TV. Can we get onto something different now.
American Idol season 9 seems to already be done with and it has barely started.

I think it was in very poor taste for Adam to stop the show to chide someone about being on their cell phone. This strikes me as very "Diva"...like "how dare you do something else other than focus 100% of your attention on ME?!" Adam needs to get over himself. He isn't big enough for these kinds of of antics yet. Dude is still relatively unknown. I get that many cell phone users are rude but to interrupt the show? He interrupted the show more than she did.

@Conservamommy How dare SHE disrupt the performer, the rest of the audience AND the filming session. Less than 100 people won tickets to the show at a small theater inside a radio station. She was very lucky to be there. On some videos you can hear her talking loudly on her phone. Adam stopped because the performance would have to be re-taped anyway. DIVA! I think not. Conscientious performer with respect for himself, the rest of his audience AND his sponsor, I think so.

I have watched the video like everyone else. There is quite a commotion going on there. I fail to see how her calling her mom and holding the phone up was a disruption, especially when dozens of other people were doing the same damn thing. I've done that before at shows and when you're doing that, you don't even talk into the phone, never mind yell.
I had friends there and they said there weren't a lot of people using their phones as she says.

To me it is a problem because they were doing video and audio recordings of the event which was a smaller intimate venue. The producers/owners of the establishment should have said no cell phones or something, you can see a sea of cell phone screens recording him/taking pictures of him throughout the whole performance. Actually trying to hold a conversation on a cell phone when you are in a setting like that makes you an inconsiderate asshole.

No cell phones should even be allowed in period. I personally hate the use of cell phones at any concert/movie as it is disrespectful and rude and shows how dependent our culture is on cell phones.
