Saw her live at Westbury Music Fair here in NY a few years ago. She was great, a bit heavier (who isn't) , but she got up there and tore the stage up! Ann-Margret was the ultimate babe when I was a boy. My teenaged daughters get the biigest laugh out of 49 to 51 seconds into this clip. I have to agree. They wonder "What the heck is up with the "Gas" thing and then her pout!" I cannot explain to them where the phrase "It's a gas!" came from. I do know what it means but can anyone help me out with the origin of that? The pout was obviously from Monroe. All in all, cool stuff!

Saw her live at Westbury Music Fair here in NY a few years ago. She was great, a bit heavier (who isn't) , but she got up there and tore the stage up! Sang, danced, had some guys dancing with her, showed old clips, great show, so glad we got to see her! A night that won't be forgotten. Thanks, Ann for all the years!

@galinthias Now more power to you if a comment only qualifies as racist if it specifically says "I hate black people," but in my experience people referring to "crack whores and hip hop pimps" aren't talking about white people, though I'm sure you could find some. It seems like a lame attempt to differentiate criticism of "black culture" and criticism of black people, even though 99% of the time it's the same thing with a level of plausible deniability thrown in.

I could watch this clip a hundred times!!! Ann-Margret's opening and closing of Bye, Bye Birdie will always be my favorite moment in film. She is beautiful, sexy, the sex-kitten of all time. Her voice is damn sexy as well. The two scenes were add-ons because director George Sidney was smitten with her, and who can blame him. The composers of the original Broadway show wrote the song for her. I'd say it worked out fine.
