The games really only have one thing in common, and thats vehicles. Borderlands was a FPS action RPG. Rage is a FPS w/ Vehicle racing and Combat, sandbox game with rpg elements. This is going by what they are listed under as far as genres and what their creators said about them. This game was in development before borderlands and in my opinion this game already looks way better than the game. Graphically and gameplay wise.

The cartoony look was what saved it I think. Before they spiced it up, all I could think was "Come on Gearbox. Fucking more desert cybertribe shit? Didn't we get enough of that in the 90s?" then when they changed the art style it became almost a parody of it's old generic style. In fact, I GAINED respect for it because of that change.

I don't mind celshaded but they fucked it up. The original graphics weren't the best but I could at least take that game seriously. If i owned borderlands(if someone gave it to b/c there is no way in hell im paying for that shit) it would be collecting dust, like metal gear solid 2 will be once I get the metal gear collection, or like every game when I get Rage.

I hope the npcs remember what you've done. Like if I do 3 or 4 missions for the sheriff I don't want him to say to me "Sorry I dont have anything for you" and just thats it. If I've helped him I'd like something like "Sorry no new missions for you but I did find this weapon...why don't you take it" or maybe "Thanks for all the help before. @monkeyspank2 Dude DNF switched game engines, fucked up development cycle, kept losing developers. It was a shitty game that flew away from its original story and intentions. The fucker who was in charge of it was fucking crazy. The borrowed technology from Unreal Engine so it would only take a couple of years to develop, but it didnt because George Bursard (the head designer) was on crack. 3D Realms went in the toilet in 2008 due to the economy and later the game was resurected by 2k in 2011

I think console owners will need to experience this game for themselves, so I hope Id Software release a demo. 60FPS is unusual for a console FPS and providing the gunplay is solid (and I have little doubt that it will be), this will feel great to play! John Carmack wondered whether COD was so popular due to its fluidity (60FPS) - might well be the case.

ID Software didn't partner with Bethesda originally, they partnered with EA, so Bethesda (makers of Fallout 3) had NO IDEA what ID Sofware was doing with rage until August, 2007. In a year Bethesda didn't change there game to be a rip-off of Rage, ESPECIALLY when they had VERY Little info of what Rage was. You lose.
