i did this with bo at a demonstration once, and someone came up afterward and said they used to do "that kata" in their old style as well... but didn't know its name! i didn't call out the name to the audience, so he wouldn't have known...
Fantastic. Thank you, Sensai Steve! When I showed this to my son, a Brazillian Jiu Jitsu student (8), he becomes envious of the weapons training...I sure wish you could give him some Judo training. He went to his first tournament this past weekend (NAGA)...he lost on points to a kid with a wrestling background. He needs to learn to throw!
