after watching this video (the comment below is before watching :p), I really recommend you to buy SD Destiny. Just to compare it with SD Strike Freedom. I'm sure your opinion on this model will change...

(Also you can have them fighting on your shelf to determine which one is the main protagonist...:p)

I don't know why, but Destiny is always better than SF in terms of models.

SD Destiny > SD SF

FG Destiny > FG SF

HG Destiny > HG SF

MG Destiny Extreme Blast > MG SF Full Burst

The oly thing SF wins at is PG. (It's because Destiny doesn't have that).

I Wonder what will happen to the RG Destiny & SF. Is it gonna be the same as before? (Destiny always better)

Hrmm...in this model, it is a bit disappointing to see lots of holes in the parts of the gundam, especially its legs, where you see lots of gaps along it.

what did you use for the blue at 00Q's legs? I can't find/mix the correct blue so ended up using metallic blue gundam marker and it turned out bad...

Because Bandai is being as cheap as the directors of Seed Destiny were when they ruined the series.

I think all of the gundam series have flaws but the only thing that stood out with seed and seed destiny compared to the rest of the series was the recycled animation. It made me really mad but it was good other than that.

Honestly, I loved how it started, and enjoyed the show till a little past the halfway point.

But I absolutely detest the ending.

Well if it is seed i kinda liked the ending how athrun's dad was killed by one of his own soldiers and the insane dude got double beam sabered into the weapon of mass destruction, it was sick. Seed Destiny required me to watch the special edition to understand but after that i had no complaints.

No, I'm talking about Seed Destiny.

My problem was how the directors started the show making Shinn your main focus, making you care about him and all that, only to end the show by completely screwing him over (along with the rest of the new Destiny cast) in favor of shoving Kira and his team back in as the leads.

Why would they do that!?

Why not keep the emphasis on the new cast where it began; where it belongs?

@crapmunky99 I don't think they screwed him because in the end of the special edition athrun kira and shin got together and were kinda like friends. They did show how Shin was struggling to accept there is another side in the argument between freedom and destiny (not the gundams) and because of his struggle and hesitation he lost to infinite justice. I thought the switch of protagonists was unique and shows how everything is not black and white.

I'd admire if the directors had honestly tried blurring the lines between protagonist and antagonist (black and white), but that's not how the ending felt to me at all.

It just consisted of a lot of the new cast being killed off in pathetic and unbelieveable ways, and having Shinn beaten down by the "good" side like a dumb, rabid dog. The directors' overwhelming bias towards Kira's side was obvious, and was basically like an insult to me for ever having cared about Shinn.

And then you get people who say "Kira's the best" and that "Shinn sucked" and arguing their points by referencing events of the plot as if they were proof of anything.

The reason for why the show took the path it took obviously lies with the show's creators and their biases.

You'd be amazed how often people ignore that fact.

My point is that this show didn't end the only (or the best) way it could have, and the blame is solely apathetic biases of the directors.

Gotta say, that doesn't sound too bad.

Couldn't be any worse than the way it actually ended.

I just think Kira would have a LOT explaining to do to Shinn before they'd ever agree to team up.

But if the directors could have done it in a believable way, I wouldn't have been totally against it.

Although, it was very cheap how Kira miraculously survived his fight with Shinn.

No offense, but I'd have prefered he died then. It would have actually made me feel bad for Kira.

Basically would have been a robot ending where everyone is smiling all the time and there is no problems. Pretty screwed up Utopia if you ask me.

Again, it wouldn't necessarily have to take that path. The directors could have killed off Kira and still come up with a way for Shinn to resolve the larger conflict.

He and Athrun would probably still have been enemies, but the two may have chosen to put their personal conflict aside for the time being in order to help stop the war.

To me, that's more interesting and believable than the way the show really ended.

If they killed off Kira and Athrun and Shin went at it it wouldn't have been interesting because even if athrun beat shin again he would have got owned by the entire durandel army. I think the original version would have topped your version not saying the original was perfect. Jesus grunt killing could have been worked on by not killing off stella's friends then there would have been more competition toward the end.

Every time I use clear Tamiya topcoat over areas that I panel lined using Gundam Marker I get smears outside the panel line. What kind of spray topcoat should I use to stop that from happening?

@gunplanut Don't panel line, top coat THEN do panel lines with a sharpened lead pencil

@rrobbert184 This is odd. You never did a SD review I think. And talk about an old kit. It kinda sucks that they really cheaped out with this kit. They could have at least given a clear sparkly blue beam shield like they did with the SD Destiny. Anyway, it kinda sucks that after the Seed/Seed Destiny line of SD kits, Bandai cheaped out even more by removing the articulation on the elbows (i.e. the crappy arms starting with SD 00 kits). Anyway, You did an awesome job painting.

Nice review as always RRobb! Honestly the SD Strike Freedom doesn't really seem all that exceptional to me. But as an SD kit, it's a nice representation of the character. As for some of the downsides of the kit, they're the universal ones with the SD kits: The gaping gaps that just beg for being stuffed full of putty, sanded smooth, and given proper panel lines with a line scribe.
