This is such a beautiful rendition like every piece of music touched by Peter Alexander whom we so sadly lost last Saturday.

He is finally reunited with his wife Hilde and daughter Susi. Yes, one can die of a broken heart - he just did.

We extend our heartfelt condolence to Michael and his family.

You're welcome. I found this LP shortly after my German mother passed on and had her in mind when I uploaded this. I'm glad it made you think of your mother.

My mother was also a fan of Connie Francis, but I was disappointed to find out that in spite of Connie having done quite a few German songs, she didn't do a German version of "Mama" (and I can't find an explanation as to why she chose not to do a cover in German - I think it could have been a huge hit for her)
