The Psalms are SONGS, messages with music. Hymns of revelation are songs! Therefore if God is THE creator then everything else is counterfeit.

I plead with you to stop attributing anything that doesn't sound like "Lord I lift Your name on high" as worldly music. Rev. 5:9 says thru a new song that Jesus will receive a sound from every tribe, tongue, and nation. and its also prophesied in Malachi 1:11 from the rising of the sun to the setting of the same in every place incense shall be offered

Jesus deeply, and use the music in a worshipful context or even in a prayer context; with the sole purpose to glorify Jesus.

And I've seen individuals play "praise music" and be living completely for their own glory and name. I.e. whitewashed tombs as Jesus said in Matt. 23:27 externally religious but inwardly dead.

I submit this to you: The content in which Ravenhill was speaking wasn't light and fluffy, it had an edge to it and was rather intense, therefore the music reflected the soberness

The amount of comments regarding this music being "of the world" is honestly very shocking to me. Personal preference is one thing, if you don't like it, that's fine, but to say this person should put up "praise music" instead...who's to say this isn't 'praise music'? Just because this isn't "How great is our God" or "Light of the world" doesn't devalue it; and because it has a more modern sound doesn't mean it's 'of the world.' All I can say is that certain Christians use very LAZY and SLOPPY arguments to define their so called holiness. Example: Be not like the world ...WELL OK, so what does that mean ? Don't drive an automobile? don't jog at night,? don't consume Diet Pepsi? don't have well paying job? don't swim in the ocean? I agree that the music is horrible. Sermons are not supposed to be entertaining. What happened in this video is part of the entertainment driven church. God's Word is not a music video. I've talked to several people who've found the music to be helpful and quite a few more who believe it isn't.

I would post the original sermon only clips onto youtube but I don't have them anymore due to hard drive failure.

One word: motive.. This is an entertainment driven society and Christians are just as guilty. That music doesn't edify. It's meant to make the clip more interesting. Man motivated, not God motivated. If you're familiar with brother Ravenhill's teachings, what do you honestly think he'd say about it? Christians need to be very careful to not copy the world's ways of doing things. Turning the gospel into a music video is essentially saying, "I have to make it relevant so more people will watch it. The gospel's not interesting enough on it's own." See what I'm saying, bro?

Listen, I'm 20 years old, I love God and am reading my Bible and good theology everyday. I just watched a required Intervarsity Christian Fellowship (made in the 80's) using the synthesizer, reading of scripture, and random people preaching about evangelism. It was full of cliches and copied the world in every sense of the word.

Please, go protest giant false ministries that consistently teach bad theology rather than my small true ministry that has made a few mistakes.

Firstly, Leonard Ravenhill himself uses humor in his sermons to make it more interesting and entertaining; a HORRIBLE THING? I guess you should go protest against Ravenhill for worldliness.

Why does the bible commend the use of instruments when singing? To make it more entertaining. Why don't preachers read their sermons directly from their sermon manuscripts, nor speak with a monotone voice? So it is more interesting.
