  • @Sut95 do you use imovie?

  • @chazeman2 no :/

  • such a great song to go with this!

  • Very simple beautiful girl :)

  • how come mine doesnt look this pretty!? do i have to put it on a certain mode?

  • @ChloePeterson1 I did a little editing in imovie and the light was really even that day.

  • Beautiful Girl...

  • What type of software do you use to edit? I have the same camera but not the same quality

  • @CITYLIFE954 imovie.

  • @TruthmyFriend do you have either:)

  • what lens did you use? :)

  • i really like this. c: especially the gorgeous weather outside.

  • que hermosa que es por dios !!! ha, por cierto, la d3100 es muy buena para filmar !!! yo tengo una y no me quejo!!!

  • 1080p 24Frames Seconds? 720p 60 frames?

  • @GuuHJumP this is filmed in 1080 at 24.i believe the d3100 does 720 at 24 and 30 not 60 tho.

  • And how is the sound?

  • @muusic5stars i don't understand.

  • @chazeman2 Lol sorry . I mean : how is the audio when you record a video with this camera? Does it work well?

  • @muusic5stars mmm its okay. nothing really to speak of.

  • @chazeman2 okay thank you.

  • Hery, I loved your flickr. What camera you used to do them? xoxo!

  • @luzinhaoliveira mostly d3100 some d7000.

  • I tried to mimic this video, but my girlfriend did not look this pretty. Must be after effects ;)

  • this setting is beautiful! I feel like if i had more beautiful places near me like you id be able to get better photos.

  • very nice smile :)

  • i wanna buy this camera now

  • The song is "Between the Bars" by Elliot Smith

  • Well done!

  • great video.

  • Never mind her looks, your girlfriend/friend what have you, is awesome for letting you film her. When I first got my DSLR, I wanted to experiment with different "subjects" and getting anyone I knew to let me film/photograph them was a real chore. Anyway, great video. I highly suggest graduating to Final Cut or another high end editing program though to get the most out of your DSLR. You'd be shocked what some color grading and after effects can do to make the video THAT much better.

  • @ReelFDFilms For sure. If I ever really get into doing more video I will checkout final cut more in depth. I have heard final cut is really good.for the most part taking photos has been my avenue and yes finding willing subjects for video is even more difficult than finding them for stills.

  • I think I'm going to get one after hesitating with Canon 600d. What made me chose this camera instead of the 600d is mainly the autofocus which seems to be much better. And image quality and possibilities are more in the Nikon. Anyway...

Yeah, you've got a nice girlfriend if she is... ;-)

  • good video, check my chanell, use nikon d7000

  • Between the Bars by Elliott Smith.

    AWESOME video!!

  • @poopfejs sweet. thanks

  • What song is this

  • @Ponskippa Elliott Smith - Between the Bars

  • Comment removed

  • @martinxLV sweet thanks man

  • Is this raw footage?

  • @kingranch2 ? as in unedited.no. raw as in RAW for still images does not change video.

  • @chazeman2 i think he is asking did you color correct it at all

  • @chazeman2 What file does the D3100 save as? Then what did you upload this as?

  • @CALICOTV301 I believe it saves them as an MOV then when i upload it i believe it is still an mov. I export it out of imovie using quicktime export. In imovie it will only export in 1080p if you export it using the quicktime option.

  • hey in the start when your zooming, how do you zoom without losing focus?, btw i actually love the white flashes, they look really cool

  • @gregboy66 as far as i know the lens should not go out of focus from zooming. i think it might also make up for any loss in focus because the aperture closes more when you zoom on this lens. don't quote me tho.

  • in 0:10-0:20 while zooming I noticed sharp skips in light balance. do you know why is that? can u get rid of it? i want to buy this cam but this might be problem..hope there is not some super inteligent auto function you cant adjust

  • @Vechet its because the camera it changing the exposure automatically from the light it is metering. If you hold down AE-L/AF-L button in the rear of the camera it will lock the exposure. does the same for stills.

  • I've got sony dsc-hx100v and this in other hand....i dunno what to do. I know they are completely different cameras but still can u suggest something. the only negative part is the mic in nikon d3100, it has mono mic :( and sony has tones of features as well

  • @biplovify mmm if it was me i would go nikon. Better glass and i think it will be a better long term investment. if you are looking to do more video then you would have to upgrade the nikon if you're worried about the mic. I THINK the d5100 has an external mic plug in.

  • Very impressive.

  • Eyes eyes eyes!

  • how is the zoom from 18-55 lens??? like ?x can it zoom?

  • @biplovify mmm i'm not really sure what you mean by that or im not really qualified to answer that haha. if you're thinking like when point and shoot cameras have 2x 4x 8x zoom its different than that because its not digital zoom its the actual lens zooming.i donno.best bet would be to stop at target or something and try one out.

  • @biplovify i think of it this way. fully zoomed at 55mm is basically a cropped version of what you see with your eyes give or take some

  • @biplovify the "zoom" of a 18-55 lens is actually 55/18 which is around 3x. but please do a research on this, as zoom is not exactly what matters (for example, to see how far this lens + sensor can focus and fill the whole image you need to take the size of the sensor into account too, not only the lens). do a search on google for dslr and digital photography.

  • which lens?

  • @nekbey 18-55

  • Comment removed

  • Shes very cute :)

  • what program you use to edit this video??

  • @delacosta1985 imovie.

  • @delacosta1985 GRACIAS!!!

  • Beautiful smile. Anyways nice video quality

  • You look too pretty when you smile trust me. :)

  • good thing this is in 1080p :)

  • The girl is very pretty !

  • гарна дівчина.

  • hey is your whole album taken with d3100 (with what lense)? I am planning to get my first dslr, but I am not sure whether I should go for d3100, or spend more for a d7000 instead. Does the "outgrow' issue really exist? What would you suggest in this case? Thanks.

  • @iamweiren All the photos are taken with The nikon d3100 using either a tamron 70-200,nikon 35mm,or the 18-55 kit lens.On the right hand side of the photos click "nikon d3100" where it says this photo was taken with a nikon d3100.I have had the d3100 for abut 8 months and just in the last few weeks i am really itching to get the d7000 so if you have the money available i would buy the d7000 but you also want to have enough money to buy some decent lenses for SURE. I feel i have outgrown it.

  • @chazeman2 Hi thanks for your reply. I have finally gotten myself a d5100 instead. D7000 is too expensive for me. I really like your photos though. They look so vibrant and sharp. That really inspires me to put more efforts in learning and enhancing my photography skills =D

  • lol did you get this song from Skins?

  • @MsBammerz nope i have this album.

  • really beautiful girl! :D

  • Comment removed

  • she is beautiful :)

  • can you film without the use of autofocus? can you manually focus if you like?

  • With that he programmes you edit the video?

  • @lazartesu imovie.

  • god the autofoucus sucks...

  • @xXGeneralMikeXx ....true but you can't expect much from the first dslr to offer it and it only being a $400-500 dollar camera.

  • the focus is manual?

  • @fedeherzog It's auto focus.

  • cute girlfriend

  • jumping exposition is a little annoying- does it have manual control over video?

  • @andyOsalek if i understand what you're saying right i dont think the d3100 has that option.

  • @andyOsalek Yes it have! Look in youtube for ''Nikon D3100 exposure lock tutorial''

  • @susundrupulis damn i thought that button was just for taking stills.nice thank you.

  • I have the same camera (check out my videos) and I agree that it's beeter for stills than video, I kinda regret not getting the Canon T2i instead.

Rolling shutter is such a bitch...

  • what this in manual focus or auto focus

  • @zayres29 auto focus.

  • @chazeman2 i am new to photography but it is something im interested in am am a college student and dont necessarily plan to make a career out of it but id like to make a little money on the side is this camera worth the 450-500 investment for someone like me?

  • @zayres29 I think so. With the investment of a few good lenses you will feel more comfortable doing jobs. I am pretty much in the same place you are with what you want to do. I feel pretty comfortable with the lenses i have which are the 18-55 which will be replaced with something better, a 35mm 1.8 and a tamron 70-200 2.8.

  • WHAT SONG IS THISSS

  • @tickyia1313 Between the Bars by Elliot Smith

  • Sh'.. This camera's video is SEXY! Oh & that girl's gorgeous too.

  • @chazeman2 I have a few 2 channels that I think you might like...

Jakob Owens has a youtube channel "Thebuffnerds" that has some really great videos on hes awesome as a director he uses a t2i

  • no this is the kit lens i am using. I made this video after i first got the camera but if i were to buy it all over again i wouldnt have gotten the kit.

  • Is it better to buy the Canon EOS 1100D (t3) with the kit lens+75-300mm or this one with just the kit lens?

  • @Giants544 to be honest im not really sure.i dont know much about canons sorry:(

  • @chazeman2 hey bro am only 14yrs old and I love to draw portraits my teacher is amazed on how good I am and everybody in school tells me to go do tattoos already :P..But my teacher recommends me to take it up a notch she wants me to try something new and that is photography. So I was searching and I dont know what SLR to start of with its either D3000 or D3100? its okay if you school me I know am a noob..lol..but am all ears.. :D oh BTW your girl is beautiful you made it look like music video.lol

  • @Efrainjimenez1000Respond to this video...

personally i would go with the d3100 because there are just a lot of better things about it. if you have the money i would go with the d3100 and if you really have the money i would skip out on buying the kit and just buy the body with a 35mm f1.8 lens or a 50mm f1.8 lens.good luck send your questions my way.

  • @chazeman2 So the lens you are using for this video is not the starter kit one? Well I have about $605.20 save up is that enough and where do you buy yours?

  • what lens do you use to take your pictures with on flickr? they look awesome this video is great ive watched it numerous times this and a few others made me buy this camera ha..

  • @drizzy1011 I have the kit lens which is the 18-55, a nikon 35mm f1.8 and a tamron 70-200 f2.8. If you look on the right side of the page on flickr when viewing my photos it will say something like this image was taken on sept 27 using a nikon d3100. Click nikon d3100 and it will open a new window which shows you all the settings and the lens i used.

  • @chazeman2 ooh ok thats awesome your photos are incredible.. what made you get a 35mm instead of say a 50mm? is that better for low light?

  • @chazeman2 ooh ok thats awesome your photos are incredible.. what made you get a 35mm instead of say a 50mm? is that better for low light?

  • @drizzy1011 i actually had a 50mm. the reason i got rid of it was because it didn't auto focus on the d3100 and i got sick of it but, since then nikon has come out with a new 50mm lens that does. also on the d3100 a 35mm lens is actually 52mm because it has a cropped sensor. so the 50mm will be 75mm.

  • @chazeman2 ooh ok thx... I guess ill have to do some more research. I'm kind of new to dslr's and photography: im still testing like everything, so i can get the hang of things and take amazing photos and vids. I really like how your photos come out and videos as well. In your opinion what should someone starting out edit with as far as editing programs.?

  • @drizzy1011 for video or photos? I have a macbook pro so i just use imovie because i don't really make videos. For photo editing i use adobe Lightroom 3. Light room is really easy to use compared to like photoshop cs5 or something like that.with lightroom you can pretty much pick it up on your own.

  • @chazeman2 For both.... Thanks for your responses you've cleared up alot of things for me. I hope to see more of your photo creations and I think you should do some more videos too they look really good like a professional. Later

  • @drizzy1011 thanks a lot. and yeah anymore questions throw them my way ill answer as best i can. keep an eye on my flicker i update it pretty regularly.

  • how'de u start of with black and white at the start? editing software or camera? and if u did how, ?

  • @imelizy123 i used i movie to do everything.

  • about the stabilization .. did u use any program to stabilize the video or just a VR Lens? btw .. nice video.

  • @Salpeme6400 It was vr and it helped being very still with a wide angle. once i start walking it gets wobbly.

  • pretty nice girls :)

  • 1 person loves men and isnt attracted to beautiful women

  • its truly fabulous....hey can u plz plzzzzzzzzzzzzz tell me wats d song's name????

  • @ThePMonica18 Between the bars. Elliot Smith

  • With the D3100, is it true you can only shoot 10 minutes of video?

  • @nikandbdog yes.you can only shoot ten minutes of video at a time.

  • how can you do that in D3100, from B&W to colored? i have D3100 too

  • @yummy2003 it was edited in imovie.

  • Beautiful girl :) .. all the luck ..

Man I'm very hesitating on buying this camera,, it's suitable to my budget with only the lens 18-55mm , I can't afford to buy more lenses, will i feel the difference ? I'm not a pro photographer or something.. i just need a nice dslr camera as a new hobby :) .. please give me your opinion ..

  • @dra7mood

If this will be your first reflex you can easly start with 18-55, after when you understand what type of photo will you prefer you can buy another type of lenses like 70-300 or fisheye or something else ;)

  • @dra7mood Yes i think you will like it. The 18-55 is not the best i have more lenses now. Im sure after you get into it you will find the money for more lenses.

  • I've got Nikon D3100. Good stuff! Did you edit the movie in any program? Cause as far as I am concerned you cannot change the exposure in video mode. But I only have the DSLR for 4 days or so and I don't know all the features yet.

    How did you do it?

  • @jkkmendes yes i edited in imovie.

  • Hey im wanting to film my music single just wondering if this camera would be ok for it. cheers.

  • @PublicNoiseAZ it would do a good job for your video. the internal mic sucks and there is no external mic input on the camera.use good lighting.

  • bit rate? format? render settings? thanks you)

  • @banannastv The camera can only do 24fps at 1080p. this is that.

  • so smooth even while walking!! nice job

  • did you get the girl with the camera? ;)

  • Respond to this video... i wouldn't be able to afford that.

  • why between the bar

  • @KOJINTEKI12 why not.

  • o, and does pixelation matter with this sort of camera?

  • with the wobbliness, would it help more to use a tripod? is this camera good with zoom? i wanna get this camera to start off with photography. i heard its good entry level.

btw, how much would the more advanced ones cost?

  • @erickav808 look on the internet elsewhere.

  • i kinda like the effect of the wobble lol

  • beautiful <3

  • what's the name of the song? thanks. nice video :)

  • @2HandPickup between the bars- Elliot Smith

  • Amazing video.

  • what lens?

  • @jianh1989 18-55

  • Nice video and nice girl.

  • I love the camera and nice editing! Also your subject in the video...wow...

  • Can someone tell me why nikon d3100's footage always looks wobbly?

  • @AKIEmusic because it's an entry level camera and it is handheld with a crappy lens.

  • @AKIEmusic and you notice it's wobbly when we're walking.

  • @AKIEmusic the reason for that is the bad rolling shutter in this camera.check out this video at 2:51 and u will anderstand what i'm talking about watch?v=e2Innx3puNI

  • It has effects choice too right?

  • is dat the 18 mm lense
