@stanzre Superman is not only DC's flagship character and mascot, but easily the most recognized super hero in the entire world. He's a cultural icon, and Batman didn't become nearly as popular as him until the 90's. Less than two decades isn't going to outdo seventy years of history. Superman is more famous than Batman. Period.

Your list has merits, but you are off. Since it's fame we are referring too, Wonder Woman is more famous than Wolverine and Captain America. That's a very easy poll to conduct. To be honest, Robin is more famous than Wolverine (keep in mind I like Wolvie). That Adam West TV show did far more exposure than anything Hugh Jackman did. Batman and Robin is synonymous with comic lore. Superman is correct, but there is a good argument for Batman in the 2 spot.
