  • description is wrong he has it on the block for a reason he just misjudged the situation

  • I do tree work in NH and I seen climbers go for a hell of a ride up there but nothing this fuckin crazy haha

  • he could of just climbed a bit further and pieced it out with little or no shaking going on

  • fukin idiot. i do that shit every day YOU DONT TIE OFF A FUKKING TOP LIKE THAT DUMBASS GOT HAVE SOME ONE LOWER IT WITH A ROPE NEXT TIME. :)

  • @stvino1 i say :napalm all that fucking area!

  • @stvino1

That's what he was doing moron. How can you call anyone an idiot when you spell the way you do? Bet you don't even climb.

  • this is not a palm

  • GERONIMOO00oo !!!...

  • Am sacred of Falling from that height.... its not being up high its the Thought of falling that is the Truth Fear not how high you are. That guy has balls of steel.

  • "A tree trimmer is cutting a huge palm tree and doesn't realise the part he is cutting of is teather to the rest of the tree."

    Respectfully, no.

When the top dropped, pulling tight on the line, it jerked the trunk so violently that it kicked the climber's spikes out of the tree and tossed him around on his lanyard like a rag doll.

I'v had it happen to me a couple times. And yes....it sucks.

  • @shkunk1 damn that's a scary ass job.have to respect those that do this 4 a living

  • @2134untouchable "damn that's a scary ass job.have to respect those that do this 4 a living"

Thanks for your show of support. Most of the situations in this line of work aren't like the one in the video, but there are definitely times when you second guess your career choice.

As for respect, I respect anyone who works hard and continually tries to improve upon their knowledge and skill; whether they be white collar, blue collar, rich, or poor. (though such people rarely stay poor.)

  • groundsmans fault all the way,, you can even hear him yell 'sorry'

  • @sandshred25 I'm a firm believer in blaming the ground man(whether it's his fault or not), but even if he'd let it run pretty good, the climber would have still taken a ride. sometimes you can't avoid it.

  • @sandshred25 Yep ,I know what you mean. The groundman stop the rope on a dime, instead slow it gradualy and absorb the shock.I would have kicked his ass when I got off the tree, lol

  • I'm wondering is he OK after riding around palm tree lol ?

  • HANG IN THERE BABY!!!

  • he shited in his pants for sure.

  • @HmongGuitarPlayer Shat* hahahaha fo sho bro

  • i hate to be that guy but.... thats not a palm tree lol.

  • Tarnation! I hate it when that hapens!

  • for all u guys saying its the groundmans fault its the climber fault look were he tied the piece of wood at and look were his block is 3 to 4 feet from point of tie in with the block causing it to shock load from point of fall to point of stop from all the slack in the rope so my thoughts on this is poor edcuation in using hardware in the tree on the climbers part

  • omg i shouldnt of laughed

  • I have been a hi-rise tree cutter for most of my life and there was no reason for this to happenm he was showing off for the camera and failed!!!!!!!!!

  • OMFG HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHA

    did that chainsaw hit anyone

  • this is why I dont do tree's over 18 feet it's not worth killing your self over 50 bucks

  • Dont you..... just hate it ......when that happens...LOL

  • there goes one of his 9 lives

  • y cut trees u stupid ppl its funny though and the poor tree scared the heck out of him he deserved it.

  • lol, I trim trees for living too and you all are getting way too complicated with it, it's not rocket science, and the people that are saying the ground man didn't let it run, how much more could he have? thing should have just been notched and let fly if that was an option, other than that like the one guy said he needed to hold on tighter, life of a tree trimmer

  • The rope was to catch the tree top, not support the arborist. The ground man should have let the rope run more, and not shock-loaded the tree. If the arborist was tied into the top he cut, he would have been pulled completely out of the tree, not just tossed around. I know because I do this for a living.

  • You are right .The groundman didnt let it run. Maybe peice it down a little smaller too. Every one is in a hurry.

  • How did he not know that he tied out higher than where he was gonna cut? That was just stupidity!

  • Video is titled wrong, he knew it was tethered, thats what he wanted, just not so much of a ride. I have never been on a ride that bad when topping

  • I wonder if theres a machine that can do this job

  • I trim trees for a living. I would top that tree drifferently. I would have notched it, then made sure the guy on the ground had control or knew what he was doing. Made sure they were ready when the last cut was made. It doesn't matter, sometimes things go bad. I hope the guys is fine.

  • groundmen's fault (even though he did go a little big with the cut). a smooth run of the line would have resulted in little swing.

  • have a good look at the tree, it is not made of concrete, all trees sway when you fell the head, this guy just got unlucky

"smooth run of the line" m8 the bloke needed more friction if anything around thbase

  • more friction? the ground guy's timing was off. whatever he was using at the base held a little too well and the rope did not run at all. it was actually too much friction, maybe from too many wraps around the porta, that held it up and caused such a heavy shock load. less wraps, and lower that weight at the right time, and you have less shock load. more friction would have only held it up. timing man. peace

  • look at the vid again dude. there was no lowering of the line whatsoever. the guy at the bottom had so much friction on whatever device/method he used that the cut didn't lower at all. i'm not so sure you know what you're talking about.

  • is that the saw or his helmet that he drops?

  • not the sharpest tool in the box

  • Ive done landscaping for 8 years and thats the wrong way to trim a tree common sense would be a very good idea when doing that kind of work.

  • First of all, he's not trimming a tree. And he's actually doing it perfectly. He's lowering off the top so that nothing below is damaged. The lowering line is run through a friction device which is controlled by a man on the ground. The object is to control the descent so that the dynamic load doesn't spring the tree. This is how it's done, but the guy on the ground messed up.

  • exactly ur a landscaper.

This blokes got balls and hes a Gun Arborist just wasnt holding on tight enough

  • Oh noes

  • so...how much did that hurt?

  • ohhhh shit! i trimmed trees all day today!
