This video was the answer to my game. Thank you so much for the information and the demonstration. I bought a mixed set of clubs and could never understand why I hit the perfect fade with my driver but all my irons went left and My wedges were straight on or had a very slight fade. It made me compensate and completely jack my swing and thought process up. Now I feel the sky is the limit with any club in my hand and I can hit a variety of shots.
When I got my lie angles fixed after years of using my clubs it changed the way I hit them. I went from hitting a draw to hitting a straight shot. Im 2 degrees flat.
For me, it's not on impact. I always felt like if I lowered my lie angle, I'd be in a much more comfortable posture at set-up. Would this be a good reason to get my lie angle changed?
Harvey Penick said lie angle was way over-rated and I happen to agree. His point was that you rarely will have a perfectly flat lie out on the golf course. it will always be a little up or down which makes lie angle unimportant.
@tens02 In my opinion there is a breakdown in your logic. I think you would agree that with a ball above your feet the ball has a tendency to go left correct? And with it below your feet the ball tends to go to the right. So this proves further that lie angle does affect ball flight...so why not get it right for "when" you're on a flat lie...
Great adivce. When you bend the shaft on graphite shafts or the hosel, does this affect the shaft or hosels integrity ?I was practicing indoors the other day, with a slomo type swing to feel out something I was learning and notice that the clubhead was bottoming with the heal up.This means I have to adjust them more upright?
@secretogolf ...If the Heel (the part of the club closest to you) is up, then yes, you would have to go more upright. And adjusting clubs with graphite shafts is no different than steel as long as the shaft doesn't go all the way through the clubhead (like on most Callaway clubs).
Hey this is great, I had bought myself a new set of Forged Mizunos, and was wondering why my ball flight was taking a fade off the clubface instead of my usual draw. did some quick measurements myself with an adjustable protractor with my old set of clubs and theres alot of difference

@golflegg Just curious what is actually being bent to adjust the lie angle and do Taylormades go all the way through?
Thanks

nice video...very informative. Can a wood (driver or 3 wood) have their lie angles modified?

Hi, What is your height & wrist to floor measurement? Quite an upright lie you have there. Thanks.
