you know there a bit too many games in a series comming out like water from a tap when they dont even change the "CAPCOM" logo at the end of the commercial. It was the same from Mega Man 4.

I know they would say it was a way to save money, but apparently they didnt save enough to not cancel 2 Mega Man games this year. Poor Mega, may not see a 25th year anniversary.

Mega man 7 is very good game...lots of secrets, not easy to find, and gr8 Soundtrack. And is a hard game.

I agree that in a sense, this game was a black sheep, but it was a GOOD black sheep. Bass and Wily both at their very best, an awesomely hard final boss, and the most interesting ending in the series.

I know that people are like "What's up with the short commercial?" but think about it as if you were a kid:

You love Rock/Megaman. You're watching cartoons on a Saturday morning. Al of a sudden, you see Rockman running and some really awesome animation. You say "Oh My God! A new Rockman game?! It's for Super Famicom?! He still gets to use the Rush Adaptor! Wow, look at those bosses! Wah?! Who's that Black Robot Master?!"

It's enough to get you hyped for a new game, imo.

This game DOES have some problems--mostly, Mega Man's sprite compared to the NES games is too big compared to its environments, making the gameplay clumsier--but most of the flak this and 8 get are because they aren't 8-Bit, and thus fail to evoke memories of how great the series felt when it was new.

Those games sucked in their time. No one back then wanted to see 8 bit games out of nostalgia, people wanted 16/32 bit games, this one just sucked. Megaman X-X4 rocked, and where not 8 bit.

@TheLeaderNOW Who, me fail? Maybe my theory of 8-Bit nostalgia is wrong, but at least I HAVE a theory. If you're going to argue against it, you need to do more than just say "those games sucked," because so far you haven't listed any reason why. I LIKE Mega Man 7, and even then I was able to name something wrong with it, unlike you. And if it sucks so much, why did I like it, along with the univversally hailed Mega Man 2?

The animation style is way too cartoony. I can't take the game serious. The music is also just silly, its unoriginal and is almost a parody of the great music this series is NAMED after (ROCKman). Its not that Megaman is too big, its that its all too big, or rather the camera is too zoomed it, but it ends up looking like a bunch of SD gundam shit. This of course makes the boss battles very un-megaman. In the end this game/style killed off the series, and its back in original form.

@TheLeaderNOW megaman was cartoony to begin with though. Look at the commercials and original art. Just because the series is named rockman in japan doesn't mean it needs rock music -_-. The music in 7 is fine. If you want rock music look at the X series. The only thing that killed this game in my opinion is the slow sluggish controls.

He is named after Rock music...ever wonder why her name is Roll? Rock and Roll...Good music is a major component of the games. They didn't have the ability on the old systems to have the music from Megaman X, its in midi form, and its damn good. Not 7 though, and it could have had good music, it was on Super NeS, like Megaman X.
