  • I still enjoy listening to them. I started listening to Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schultz, Isao Tomita, and Jean Michael Jarre back in the 70's.

  • You can really hear the influence that Kraftwerk left on Tangerine Dream. Seeing as they are both German electronic bands from the 70's they must have been sharing ideas and such.

  • @canmoore err I have this backwards. TD formed in '67 while kraftwerk formed in '70. So Kraftwerk was greatly inspired by TD!! neat

  • Fué un trio alemán electrónico creado por Edgar Froese en 1967, incluido por la psicodelia y lo posterior vanguardia que marcaron el paso del pop al rock, en el centroeuropa.

  • still one of the best electronic albums I've ever heard.

  • never ending

  • still flys after all these years...

  • Just in process of replacing vinyl albums with cds. This album will definately be bought again. Absolutely brilliant.

  • Bollocks to this. Kraftwerk wipes the floor with it and boards of canada arent even ont the same planet. This is dirgey.

  • Very first tune I remember listening to when little. Always wanted to be an astronaut later.

  • Les Allemands sont vraiment les rois de la zic barrée.

    Super groupe au passage.

  • maybe my favor album and ricochet excellent my friend

  • 1976?

    Man kann es kaum glauben...

    Wunderbar, einfach nur wundervoll!

  • super son !

  • OMG!!!DE CÂND TE CAUT!!!

  • Shit gets real at 9:55

  • Great song!

  • @ltdees2362 You are right, this is a place where to comment music. Were you bombing shit out of Hanoi? who cares, and how this is related to music?

BTW, if you mastered flight as you master english language I can easily understand why Ho Chi Min kicked your butt out of Vietnam. Are you so proud of having killed innocent people?

  • esta musica es espectacular, con ella puedes volar.muy buena me encanta.

  • this is drugs transmuted into audio waves

  • God! I miss the old TD! Saw them live the first time back in '86. What a show! Blistering sequencer patterns, ear-splitting PPG squawks, lasers flying everywhere...Just 3 guys hammering' on those synths for all they were worth. Their recent stuff? What the HELL? An emaciated Edgar, a couple random dudes doing who-knows-what, and the most annoying drummer chick ever to pick up a set of sticks. Blah! I want the old TD back!

  • Can you please tell me who (the individual's name) produced this song? Thanks (:

  • @simplydenali

This is made by Chris Franke, Edgar froese and Peter Baumann. I think they have done this together. One of the best song ever made

  • 8:37 Begins one of the most beautiful passages in all of TD music and beyond.

  • Un de mes albums préféré que j'écoutai il y'a trente cinq ans avec Ricochet, Rubycon, Phaedra, Peter Baumann, avec Romance 76, Mike Oldfield avec Tubular Bells, Ommadawn, Hergest Ridge, Incantations, Klaus Schulze, L'Apocalypse des animaux etc..............;

  • Wow, If I make you puke my I suggest you get a really big barrel! I could go on, however you are simply not worth the effort. This is a place to comment about music, not put down people with your foul mouth that you know nothing about....

  • @ltdees2362 let me remind you....... 1. you started to recollect 'bout war despite this place is for music 2. you said " What a way to run a war"

you're shithead and if you have problems get the shrink from va

  • My all time favorite! I got into TD when I was in Thailand in 72-73, my Air Force days, 353rd TFS TDY from Myrtle Beach SC to Karat Royal Thai Air Base. We would sit out at the end of the flight line at night watching the plains take off, "Linebacker II". We're bombing the shit out of Hanoi & Haiphong! We had a Sansui amp & real to real tape deck with 4 Altec 850 speakers set-up at the radar shack...What a way to run a war!

Colonel Davis I hope you don't see this! & Thank God for JW Red Label!

  • @ltdees2362 bombing innocent people................. nothing to brag about...... shithead.... give you advise............go and buy "som guns and ammo" and stay out of YT.... creatures like you make me puke............. ( brainwashed redneck )

  • @wojtekj11 i am not american people who had to go to nam had no choice arse wipe

  • The original HOUSE music....

  • 13 people dont deserve to breath oxygen

  • imortal music....forever actual sound...history in motion over the time...and look...this is the way that humans can beat time...

  • Always my favorite track by TD. Cheers!

  • otworzyłem youtube i przyszła mi myśl, aby włączyć Tangerin Dream -Stratosfear

    Benek

  • I was searching for my "Tangerine Dream - Do As Infinity" video and I stumbled upon this and I like it.

  • Used in an advert for the Renault 20 c.1978

  • j'avais 10 ans et j'écoutais Tangerine qu'est-ce les jeunes écoutent maintenant????????

  • Ultra-modern, even today, after 4 decades !!!

  • @italokid80

I agree completely with u, one of my favourite electronic bands as well as Kraftwer..

  • This music brings solace.

  • ils ont créé la trance et leurs titres restent magnifiques pour toujours

  • a little...make that a lot more melodic than the 2 previous albums....gamely pressing on with this record but a step backwards....yes and king crimson went on hiatus during this period as corporate rock took over and cutting edge music disappeared from mainstream record collections

  • schon seit es tangerine dream giebt höre sie immer wieder, absolut hammer!

  • my teacher told me to look up tangerine dream =o i wanta orange soda now

  • I saw these guys on their first US tour, in a former movie theater in Cleveland, Ohio. The sound was so intense that the building vibrated with the music. Being fried at the time made the concert more than fantastic. They used a (real old tech now) a logic rythm computer, that was directly in my view. What a trip, to watch the switches thrown and hear the beat change. Guitar work blew my mind away. Great stuff, timeless.

  • I would consider this my favorite TD album. It combines the ambient touches of their earlier albums with the more rhythmic and melodic ones of their later. They really get the timbre right on this one too. Encore seems to be the live counterpart of this great period.

  • also Jean Michel Jarre...

  • Kraftwerk, OMD, Tangerine Dream...fathers of today trance sound...

  • @RoleTDI Today trance sucks! :( too commercial and schematic...

  • desde Venezuela... es brutal su música...

  • Viva Tangerine Dream, desde Mexico

  • roast a farian.

  • I managed to see them live 3 times in the UK in 80's-early 90's. Bloody amazing.. wish I could see them one last time.. not much chance of that. I now live in California. Bugger...

  • TD? Brilliant. Just brilliant!

  • Some of the finest Original Psychedelic pre-Goa Trance.

  • hoy están las nubes bien congeniáis

  • Yes.

    Peace*

  • good old 70s music bril

  • Exellent

  • Thanks for posting this man!

  • Pink Floyd and Tangerine Dream. Music ahead of its time. It was artists like this that started modern electronic music and sequencing. I can just imagine how fun it was sequencing tapes, now you got digital files that you can just mix and match, change wave forms and envelopes on the fly. Back then it was cutting and pasting tape sequences on sequencers with limited tracks and bit rates. Manipulating actual tape lol And on synths that cost as much as a damn car...

  • fucking majestic tune....synth justice

  • My house was robbed, one CD went was this one, so here it is, must be good karma. Love it. Brilliant.

  • LES IMBATTABLES MELODIES MELANCOLIQUES DE TANGERINE

  • Imagine waking up and feeling like the first thirty seconds of this piece. Imagine doing it every day for more than a year and a half. Something exquisitely beautiful about it, but you don't want to live there.

  • An unusual departure for the kings of techno-bollocks: this one's actually got a tune! Well done lads, there's hope for you yet!

  • I had this record, played it till it would'nt play anymore! Loved it.

  • Wow, this song brings back so many times in the past! Thank You.

  • ojha taman bem ti biciklo

  • yes, I always was sure that Stratosfear is the best LP from TD

  • Cannot believe i'm actually going to see them live at the end of May at The Lowry in Salford...saw them only once before a good few years back, when an old friend of mine managed to get some tickets that someone else was selling as they couldn't go...we were very lucky to get them. I feel very lucky this time too that a good friend of mine (different friend than before) texted me and asked if i was interested in going seeing them...my reply to him seconds later was..YES YES YES :-D Can't wait!

  • @Ironlord2015 haha thats great! I'd love to see them live one time, but i didnt have the occasion yet, anyway enjoy your concert! :)

  • @NieelzzZ A belated reply here (sorry I very rarely check into replys on here :/ ) But cheers, the gig was awesome. I still intend to put a video together with all of the best pictures I took at the gig, i'll try and do that soon. Thanks again :)

  • @Ironlord2015

I hope they've improved their stage act since I saw them. Granted that was in 1981, but I cannot recall any gig where I felt so completely distanced from the artists: they just sat there, dull and expressionless for nearly an hour and a half, apparently unaware we were even there!

Hope you enjoy it, but in my experience don't expect wonders.

  • I saw them in 1975 and they were fantastic then...

  • @Ironlord2015 i got to see them a few years ago would have loved to see them again

  • @Ironlord2015 Sweet! They are coming to Detroit in July of 2012. I cant wait!

  • Already over a 100.000 views thanks to all of you. I love it to see so many people interested in this kind of music !

  • The best! i have 4 of their albums from the 70's and 80's and this was my favorite one. these guys, jean michel jarre, and isao tomita were fantastic and i have never in my whole life met anyone else who has ever heard of any of them!

  • @jjrod50 That's unlucky. The music is great.

  • There is no words no describe this upload.

  • @TheEduardo4 i would say ''use of technology''....

  • @ilvoleencore Brilliantly

  • This a fantastic album without a doubt!

  • I like that groovy 60s scifi feel:-)

  • quebec 70

  • Loving the ARP Pro-Soloist Lead in this song. :) Music sounds ahead of its time.

  • This reminds me of a very sweaty and pleasurable afternoon spent with my then girlfriend and her best friend in my recently rented first flat and some very spaced out LSD in 76. Ah sweet memories.

  • Now this was a fun tune to drive your sports car down the highway to. But we don't do that anymore. We ride a motorcycle instead.

  • ♥♥♥

  • This is an all-time classic, the best legal drug on the market. I have been listening to it for 30 years. It always works its magic on me.

  • TRANCE, nothing new under the sun . all my love sarah.

  • El mejor álbum de TD. Desde CHILE, saludos.

  • @albovial saludos, saludos ! Pero yo insisto que Force Majeure y Thief son los mejores, aunque este album en particular esta espectacular!

  • The power, colors and the beauty of Analog synths,a very Moogy sounds trip, so few made it so musical

  • Amazing sounds!

  • One of my favourite TD tracks.

  • Trippiest shit I've ever heard.

  • I saw another posting of this song and it was a different recording. This is the album track, the one that I know and love.

I just saw the movie "Tron: the Legacy". The soundtrack is by Daft Punk. Tangerine Dream is ripped off mercilessly throughout the entire movie ( an enjoyable movie , by the way). But I waited for mention of Tangerine Dream when the credits rolled. None was to be found. I felt I was a witness to a crime. Instead it said "Original Music by Daft Punk." Not exactly so.

  • PS: That Album cover alone has given me so many ideas/stories within my mind when I was younger...Ah the power of Imagination inspired by amazing music ♥

  • One of my FAVORITE Songs by a goup most people never even heard of!! I grew up with them, my parents introdued me to their music! Loved em ever since! I would dance to this song in particular when I was little and their music through the years has always been great inspiraton for me.

To me they've always been and always will be one of the greatest groups/bands ...I've ever heard!!

    Thanks for sharring! <3

  • See how confused I was in my mind, I couldn`t even spell all.!! thats what T/D do to you.

  • I have just made up my mind this is my favourite T/D track. It only took me 2 hours to make up my mind, hang on I have just changed my mind & now it is Ricochet, no it is Coldwater canyon off the Live Encore double vinyl album. Who cares they are ball magic. Well I think they are!!!.

  • INJECTING 80 UNITS OF CRYSTAL METH INTO MY ARM AND BLASTING THIS ON MY 15000 WATT STEREO ALL FUCKING NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @zeppelin6572 thats what im sayin!

  • this always reminds me of waking up on Christmas morning, what a beautiful work of aural art....sigh

  • LES MÉLODIES TRISTES EXTRAORDINAIRES DE TANGERINE DREAM!!

  • excellent video

  • excellent

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • Wow! I remember hearing this on the radio show "Musical Star-streams" It was on Saturday Noon on KSKA 91.1 FM In the late 80s..

  • @NieelzzZ Thanks for putting it up! Superb track.

  • @NieelzzZ Glad to raise your hit counter. TD Stratosphere was the first album that I got of theirs. Many memories to reflect upon while listening to this particular tune. THANKS for posting it.

  • i love this dream of tangerine , in fact i love every thing of this wonderful band......^,^

  • He escuchado este album desde hace más de 30 años cuando era adolescente. Grandioso....quien necesita drogas para volar con esta fantastica música?

  • Dur-mi-tor

    Dur-mi-tore

  • I love the opening--if only it lasted longer. All-in-all, quite a glorious song in every possible degree!

  • I have this CD somewhere, haven't listened in forever

  • Quite simply the best song, from the best album, from the best band, ever!

  • I LIKE IT

  • HIPPY

  • This is my Favorite album!!!!! FROM start to finish!!

  • HIP 80`S

  • @Tigerman499

    70's actually

  • thanx, this is needed

  • I can seriously just sit in one place and zone to this song. No drugs, nothing but the music and a mind that gets blown every time I hear this.

I'm pretty decent with writing, normally. I have no words that are capable of describing this song. I am not worthy to do so.

  • @Kaelzoroden Dude, I completely agree...This song does the same to me...It's truly a work of Art ♥

  • @Kaelzoroden

you can count me in the same wagon as you are, this music lets you travel inside your being. Speechless.

  • @Kaelzoroden ah come on it's not that great. I see that you favorited my little pony so your taste is very suspect.

  • @soundbeans I can't make you enjoy good music as much as I do. All I can do is say that I was not exaggerating in my comment, and I sincerely feel bad for you if you don't get as much out of this song as I do.

Also, yes, I like MLP:FiM. Frankly the Stephen Sondheim-esque music in it is better than a lot of the schlock that winds up on the top 20's radio stations. I see that you criticize people for liking MLP, so your knowledge of the matter is very suspect.

  • chingon

  • PURE PRIMITIVE ELECTRONIC MUSIC...WITH ALL ITS RAW ENERGY! Today's 'Electronica' has nothing on the ancient classics of the past! Thanks for sharing this masterpiece.

  • The original's always best!

  • the Original very psychedelic remains for me the best. TD at their peak, sequencer by chris Franke, all guitar works (also very pretty acoustic) by "father" Edgar Froese and synth melodic lines also by peter Baumann the man who sadly had to go to soon. thanks

  • really one

  • I love this song. If you like it, please hear also the version of Jose Bergeron played all the music with one guitar.

  • Este disco es una maravilla

  • this is so good.enjoy.

  • Parts of this beauty are the theme music of norwegian science radio program "Verdt å Vite" ("Worth Knowing"). Don't know if the program is still running, though...

  • Would it be weird to say that parts of this song remind me of Kingdom Hearts and a few other Square Enix titles?

  • 6:47 reminds me Kraftwerk Trans Europe Express.

  • @MrFlorianschneider But this was released one year before.

  • Tangerine Dream - Jean Michel Jarre - Vangelis

    Bernd Kistenmacher - Kitaro...

Meine Favoriten unter den instrumentalen Klangzauberern!

  • I knew this one 30 years ago, on a vinyl album.

Still amazing even for today standards!

    Thanks for posting.

  • Those are some phat synth riffs. Trippy as fuck !

  • TD is the greatest!!!! One of their very best!

  • Main stple for an eveing of fun, you know.
