Is your DPS estimate up top without buffs or with buffs? We're trying this tomorrow for our first time and I need to know if we should just hit up firelands for any gear we probably don't but coould need or if we should try it.

I was curious about having three dps start on blue as you guys do on heroic, however just on normal. Our order is green - red - yellow - blue. @FatbossTV I have a fire mage with an Ilvl of 384, and I'm wondering whether I'm OK to go to DS with my guild. I do 15-16K dmg on a raid boss dummy, but in Hcs I can do 20-22K dmg. Question is, is that the average or will I be a hinderance to the guild?
That DPS sounds fairly low but providing you don't die on fights or make the healers job difficult that should be just about strong enough for normal dragon soul bosses.
@LichQueenKathie You'll probably do more than that due to raid buffs and since Ds has been eased a bit every patch I think you'll be alright with 25k + dps
@LichQueenKathie On my hunter, i did that on herosses and raid dummies, which means you'll do around 30k+ dps on madness. which isnt enough. Run some LFR and get geared some more?

after watching a few vids on DW kills this one makes the most sense to leave the red platform till last for the blistering tentacles, will use this tonight on our attempts and let you know the outcome ( will prob fail due to slacker dps or healers :P)
After killing the bronze platform I ran into a big problem which is Impale happening at the same time as Bolt. Even with my shield wall up + ralying cry the dmg was too high to survive it.
Is there a way to avoid them sync, or the bolt will always hit around the same time as the 2nd impale.One solution would be to have the tentacle killed before the 2nd impale\bolt coming the other solution would be to have a pala tank popping Ardent Defender to avoid death in case you don't have enough dps.
@ghp0518 What helped with us was casting Hand of Protection on the tank so the impale wouldn't do any damage. I would recommend to try that (: hope it helps
your Vids always help....use to watch tank spot still someone showed me your and i love them. coz you dont over explain everything and you sound like you have fun putting this all together. my raids never go that well. most of us end up running around like headless chickens and its FUNNY. coz its mostly the melee most of the time....and we have a DK that will died in everything she is jsut funny. but i look forward to seeing more of your tactic vids.

@kamilbalb Yeh they are, you can see what damage / healing you do. Aoe Healing / damage fills up you're screen though, just pick one number and take that as an average.
Another excellent video from you guys, thank you! A little more discussion of your specific setup and why that setup led you to choose the sequence of buffs (or lack thereof) would be nice. We are a small-medium sized social guild with 2 10-man groups, both of which *should* be killing spine tonight. This should mean that we have some time in our groups to get to know madness a little before the reset.

Raided for 5 hours today on this boss and haven't downed him yet. We went from platform
3-1-2-4 (whereas 1 is the most left and 4 the most right). The Problem we have is that we cant down the tentacle on platform 4 WITHOUT using Heroism. Has anyone got any tips. Perhaps we are downing the wrong platforms, I really don't know. If someone could help me on this enocunter it would be much appreciated.
Btw I am a Disc. Priest and over a period of 5 hours my average HPS was 21k.
Sorry, I don't know whether I wasn't listening, or it wasn't mentioned.. but with this platform rotation, do you have to deal with the Regenerative Blood taking less damage at any stage? (What I mean is.. losing the de-buff, the AOE is less effective, and lowers the chance of being able to kill them before they heal up, meaning you have to single target them down). Great guide.
A LOT of debate goes into the order of platforms, but it essentially comes down to this, if your raid dps output is less than 270k go Green > Red > Yellow > Blue. If your 2 healing it go Blue > Red > Yellow > Green. The safest option is to 2 tank, 3 heal it, provided all 5 dps can do over 40k, and go Green > Red > Yellow > Blue.
hey great video, I have a question, you mentioned you cleared this with a 1 tank 2 heals 7 dps set up, what was your platform order for that one?, I'd assume you'd try and keep blue and green buff up as long as possible, I'd like to try this method with my guild so any help is greatly appreciated =)
How do you deal with not having blue buff? Our guild 2 tank 3 heals it, and we've killed him, but only because we save blue for last and are able to aoe down the bloods with the help of spellweaving. We tried not having blue but we just weren't able to aoe the bloods without the blue buff and single targetting them guarateed that we would spend 6 regeneration phases killing bloods. Not so much an issue since we've downed him, just wondering if having 6-7 dps makes the difference in aoe damage.
As always, this guide is great. You don't have a lot of extra crap going on in the video (annoying music, weird transitions, etc) so it's easy to focus on the encounter. Thank you for making a clear, concise, and entertaining guide. It's greatly appreciated :D
ROFLOL at all the people comparing this to LFR. LFR is a total joke. It doesn't even come close to comparing to normal mode...normal 10 man at that. I know guilds on our server that can barely get morchok, but can get madness easy on LFR.
Can you guys tell me if there is any videos with 1 tank guides? We kinda struggling atm for some reason with the last platform before we enter phaze 2.Either we lose a bit dps (3m) when we use blue as last platform, or we lose a bit of aoe on bloods when we leave red as last...
@Bugatti169 Unless you can survive a 200k hit, then maybe it's a good idea to use Dream. The only thing that LFR is good for is getting you acquainted with the basics of the encounter.
is it me or does this fight seem way to simple, compared to some of the other fights in wow. lichking was 10 times harder than this my friend told me he pugged this from the raid finder and one shot it.
@mastajames Raid Finder doesn't really count. It's super watered down so that it can be PUGed. If it was actually difficult, then you couldn't feasibly get 25 complete strangers together and end up with a successful kill.
what is your avg dps for these boss fights? Especially, for Blackhorn. My guild is having trouble with add control. We get Ultraxion no problem so I don't think it's a dps issue. maybe just coordination. But we've done different strategies and we haven't found the one that works yet.
i'm a damn good healer, but i am easily confused and utterly shite at watching video guides. most try to explain every single add spell or detail and end up leaving me worse off than i was before i watched the video. yours seem to pick out the bits that actually matter though and leave me feeling a lot more prepared for the dreaded first encounter. it's much appreciated.

Hi there. You mentioned if you use the Bartender addon that you must bind the key for the bar to used, this isn't true. If you use Bartender, Dominos, or a similar bar-tool - you can enable the "button bar" by turning on the vehicle bar as alternative to binding the key, or creating a macro containing: /click ExtraActionButton1
This fight is great, but it shouldnt have been used for deathwing. Expected something much more epic but oh well, I don't play anymore so it's not a big deal to me. But I know many that were fairly pissed off with this.
@VelaStorm7 You do realize that Deathwing's final encounter is a 2-part fight? First of all after the Warmaster Shitbritches fight, you jump from the airship onto Deathwing's back, starting the Spine of Deathwing. You blow apart 3 plates holding his form steady inflight, thereby causing him to fall into the Maelstrom, where you take on part 2 of 2 and kill him proper. Please don't post anymore.That goes for you baddies too, you know who you are <3
@dmg1849 Why are you talking to me like I never did these encounters? I said I stopped playing WoW. Did I say when I stopped playing WoW? No. I quit three days after 4.3 was released. We cleared 8/8 normal in less than two hours. I'm very much aware of the encounters, buddy, and have been a player since the early days of 2006. I'm just stating how under-whelming both of the Deathwing encounters why, and that I was hoping for more. So don't go around acting like you know it all. <3
@VelaStorm7 The normal version of the fight is NOT the end game either, the Heroic encounter is. You cleared this raid on normal in 2 hours? Fine, let's see some proof of it then. Link here you WoL. If you did in fact do this in 2 hours, WoL should have all your encounters in one nice neat reference area. Unless of course you were not live logging, and cannot back up this ridiculous claim of yours. If you cleared it in 2 hours AND stopped playing, why post here at all? Prove it.
@VelaStorm7 Raid Finder difficulty is aimed at PuGs - Normal difficulty is aimed at casual guilds - Heroic difficulty is aimed at hardcore guilds - Normal difficulty is also much easier with Firelands Heroic gear, because it's aimed to be completed in Firelands Normal gear.

Hi there! Here's my question, what is the MECHANICS difference between normal 10 and LFR [obviously only 25] at all? I know people differently choose aspects for different fights, but imagine doing the magical "Ysera -> Nozdormu -> Alex -> Kalecgos" successfuly, do I need to be more aware on normal than on LFR at some point, knowing that DPS must be (a lot) stronger and Corruption Bloods heal 100% life instead of 50% and number of adds? Thanks in advance.

@IfritEngen There isn't really any difference in mechanics between LFR and the normal mode to be fair. But of course everything hits harder and so mechanics that lot of the time get ignored on LFR can't be on normal. IE tenticles on the arm. Plus depending on your raid setup you may need to do the platforms in various orders. Impossible to say what as depends on your raid makeup. Stuff hits harder, and you need to hit harder of course. Impale in particular is nasty.

@kamilbalb Yeh they are, you can see what damage / healing you do. Aoe Healing / damage fills up you're screen though, just pick one number and take that as an average.

Another excellent video from you guys, thank you! A little more discussion of your specific setup and why that setup led you to choose the sequence of buffs (or lack thereof) would be nice. We are a small-medium sized social guild with 2 10-man groups, both of which *should* be killing spine tonight. This should mean that we have some time in our groups to get to know madness a little before the reset.

Raided for 5 hours today on this boss and haven't downed him yet. We went from platform
3-1-2-4 (whereas 1 is the most left and 4 the most right). The Problem we have is that we cant down the tentacle on platform 4 WITHOUT using Heroism. Has anyone got any tips. Perhaps we are downing the wrong platforms, I really don't know. If someone could help me on this enocunter it would be much appreciated.
Btw I am a Disc. Priest and over a period of 5 hours my average HPS was 21k.

Sorry, I don't know whether I wasn't listening, or it wasn't mentioned.. but with this platform rotation, do you have to deal with the Regenerative Blood taking less damage at any stage? (What I mean is.. losing the de-buff, the AOE is less effective, and lowers the chance of being able to kill them before they heal up, meaning you have to single target them down). Great guide.

A LOT of debate goes into the order of platforms, but it essentially comes down to this, if your raid dps output is less than 270k go Green > Red > Yellow > Blue. If your 2 healing it go Blue > Red > Yellow > Green. The safest option is to 2 tank, 3 heal it, provided all 5 dps can do over 40k, and go Green > Red > Yellow > Blue.

hey great video, I have a question, you mentioned you cleared this with a 1 tank 2 heals 7 dps set up, what was your platform order for that one?, I'd assume you'd try and keep blue and green buff up as long as possible, I'd like to try this method with my guild so any help is greatly appreciated =)

How do you deal with not having blue buff? Our guild 2 tank 3 heals it, and we've killed him, but only because we save blue for last and are able to aoe down the bloods with the help of spellweaving. We tried not having blue but we just weren't able to aoe the bloods without the blue buff and single targetting them guarateed that we would spend 6 regeneration phases killing bloods. Not so much an issue since we've downed him, just wondering if having 6-7 dps makes the difference in aoe damage.

ROFLOL at all the people comparing this to LFR. LFR is a total joke. It doesn't even come close to comparing to normal mode...normal 10 man at that. I know guilds on our server that can barely get morchok, but can get madness easy on LFR.

In normal, is the dream to be used only by the tank or should every raid member do it ? In LFR, i as a DPS cleared this without using the dream.

@Bugatti169 Unless you can survive a 200k hit, then maybe it's a good idea to use Dream. The only thing that LFR is good for is getting you acquainted with the basics of the encounter.

@mastajames Raid Finder doesn't really count. It's super watered down so that it can be PUGed. If it was actually difficult, then you couldn't feasibly get 25 complete strangers together and end up with a successful kill.

what is your avg dps for these boss fights? Especially, for Blackhorn. My guild is having trouble with add control. We get Ultraxion no problem so I don't think it's a dps issue. maybe just coordination. But we've done different strategies and we haven't found the one that works yet.

i'm a damn good healer, but i am easily confused and utterly shite at watching video guides. most try to explain every single add spell or detail and end up leaving me worse off than i was before i watched the video. yours seem to pick out the bits that actually matter though and leave me feeling a lot more prepared for the dreaded first encounter. it's much appreciated.

Hi there. You mentioned if you use the Bartender addon that you must bind the key for the bar to used, this isn't true. If you use Bartender, Dominos, or a similar bar-tool - you can enable the "button bar" by turning on the vehicle bar as alternative to binding the key, or creating a macro containing: /click ExtraActionButton1

@VelaStorm7 You do realize that Deathwing's final encounter is a 2-part fight? First of all after the Warmaster Shitbritches fight, you jump from the airship onto Deathwing's back, starting the Spine of Deathwing. You blow apart 3 plates holding his form steady inflight, thereby causing him to fall into the Maelstrom, where you take on part 2 of 2 and kill him proper. Please don't post anymore.That goes for you baddies too, you know who you are <3

We cleared 8/8 normal in less than two hours. I'm very much aware of the encounters, buddy, and have been a player since the early days of 2006. Hi there! Here's my question, what is the MECHANICS difference between normal 10 and LFR [obviously only 25] at all? I know people differently choose aspects for different fights, but imagine doing the magical "Ysera -> Nozdormu -> Alex -> Kalecgos" successfuly, do I need to be more aware on normal than on LFR at some point, knowing that DPS must be (a lot) stronger and Corruption Bloods heal 100% life instead of 50% and number of adds? Thanks in advance.

@IfritEngen There isn't really any difference in mechanics between LFR and the normal mode to be fair. But of course everything hits harder and so mechanics that lot of the time get ignored on LFR can't be on normal. IE tenticles on the arm. Plus depending on your raid setup you may need to do the platforms in various orders. Impossible to say what as depends on your raid makeup. Stuff hits harder, and you need to hit harder of course. Impale in particular is nasty.
