  • alright,its one of his kids......maybe :)

  • The real question is who is the OTHER person with their head down?As for the woman, its the Doctors mother no doubt.

  • I know the writers said it was his mom, but wouldn't have made more sense for it to be his granddaughter Susan becasue when she left the TARDIS she went back to Gallifrey

  • i think it his mom, his wife, or his daughter

  • this is so horrible and totally my fan girl coming out but i like to think it was someone like his mum

  • I am not sure if the writers actually said it was his mother but Rassalon did remove Romana II from her presidential office and took command. As for the 'glove' worn by Rassalon, no it is not the 'resurrection gauntlet.' One of those gloves bring the dead back to life for a little while and the other reanimates the dead. The functions of this gauntlet are a little more diverse and more combat oriented.

  • his mum

  • So... Can Time Lords tell their own species apart from one another with regenerations and all?

  • @tsnyder700 Yes. This was covered in the series 3 finale with The Master being voted Prim Minister and such. You'll recall when the Doctor, Jack, and Martha walked into the square and saw Harold Saxon on the large screen, the Doctor instantly knew it was the Master because Timelords can tell who is one and who isn't, just like they can see fixed points in time and such.

  • I think that you should have left the sound and voices from the movie.

  • Sarah Jane Smith Or River Song.

  • @DollaCoinVeVo it cannot be River Song because we saw River's death in the second part of the two episode bit Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead. So it cannot be her. As for Sarah Jane Smith, it cannot be her either, since she was never allowed onto Gallifrey during the Time War, which is when the Timelords are kept in loop.

  • @kibaxasuma woman's doctors mom

  • Hey was the metal glove the timelord was wearing the glove from torchwood, or at least the other glove?

  • She's his mother

  • @ShinigamiMischief15 how do you know

  • of couse it was his mum who else! they wouldnt have done the susan thing (maybe 50th anniversary) it coulnt have been romana it would story lines would get comlicated the only person who has never been in dw is his mum its so obvious but oh well everyone has an opininon i said when i was watching it to my mate that that was his mother aswell :)

  • I think the mysterious woman shouldn't have been his mother. If you're going to pull the mysterious woman stick it can't be someone we haven't met/probably never will. It would have been more meaningful if they called the actress who played Romana to do this part. Fans would have gone wild. At least they would have known she was alive. :/

  • the woman might be his mum.

  • who was that woman

  • it could be susan but i think its his old companion romana

  • I think it is Susan, but when the Doctor left her on future earth to help the "resistance" defeat any leftover Daleks, I can't imagine how she ended up back on Galifrey.

  • Weeping angel much?

  • I think its Romana?

  • @mhanbai i think its susan

  • who is that? and who is susan?

  • @Ian2CoryLoveeer I really hope that you're kidding...

  • @purpletigerlover Sorry. but i honestly dont know. what doctor who series is she in or mentioned in.

I have watched from christopher, david to matt and i am lost haha :L never found out or maybe i missed something. But there was no need to be rude

  • @Ian2CoryLoveeer I'm sorry if I was rude that wasn't my intention

but it did turn out that way and I am sorry

Susan was the doctors first companion and granddaughter ,although we don't what happen to her after the doctor drop her off ..somewhere...nor do we if she regenerated

  • @purpletigerlover Its okai and thank you for clearing that up for me :D wish i had watched those ones, but i wasnt old enough to watch it , well or born ;)

  • @LolGuy619 - Good. When I watched the television film when it first aired, and heard the Doctor was half human on his mother's side, I groaned. I thought, "Are they trying to appeal to the Trekkies (because of Spock)"? I also thought of an interview with Tom Baker in which Baker said one of the best things about the Doctor is that he is not human, and can comment as an outsider. He also said another quality about the Doctor is that he doe snot fall in love, which Tennant's Doctor is guilty of.

  • It's the doctor's mother.

Russell T. Davies wrote in an email to the author of The Writers Tale, "I like leaving it open, because then you can imagine what you want. I think the fans will say it's Romana. Or even the Rani. Some might say that it's Susan's mother, I suppose. But of course it's meant to be the Doctor's mother."

  • one thing to say

    two words

    susan foreman

  • @Dstorm20xx - where in the Doctor Who movie with Paul McGann do you get that it "was ret coned" by the Master to fool the Doctor?

  • Interesting choice of music. It's not bad by any means, but definitely interesting.

  • She was his mother. I believe that this has been confirmed by the actress who played her.

  • @Dariyoukai458 But his mother is human, as mentioned in the classic series.

  • Do we ever find out who she is?

I dont think we will if we havent already?

They would have had to do in season 5 or the beginning of season 6.

Everyones tried to forget this horrible departure of dT

Like seriously the masters a weirdo skeleton with super powere.

    Doctor who not xmen

  • How can the Doctor's mother be human? (I do know the theory and who his mother could be, but species with two different types of DNA cannot conceive a child. It's biologically impossible. And yes, I know human/TL hybrids exist, but none of them were conceive between a TL and a human).

  • Comment removed

  • @YahiroYamaha Not in the DW universe, there are members of different species that have children.

  • @Saikinyara Like which? I've only been in DW for about 4 months now, so I don't know the history of every race in the Whoverse.

  • @YahiroYamaha River has time lord DNA without her parents being time lords, and I would guess that the TL DNA is stronger than any human DNA, plus this is doctor who, where a cat and a human get kitties that talk. ;)

  • Really, I think that Susan

  • @MJJBeliever

Yeah, but how did Susan get on Gallifrey?

  • @WixkedLovy

    Time Scoop.

    XD

  • @MJJBeliever is an idiot. RTD intended for it to be his mother, but he didnt want to SAY it because it would diminish The Doctor's mystery.

  • Didn't the doctor grow up in a orphanage, so how can he have a mother? (obviously yes, but you know what i mean -.-)

  • @DucksFromHell

I see what your saying. I don't think she's his mother, but if she was she could have given birth to him and, for some weird reason, sent him to earth seeing as she would have been on Gallifrey when she gave birth to him because she became a Time Lord when she was 8, but I highly doubt that it's just too much.

  • @WixkedLovy

Did the Looms get retconned? IIRC, Pythia ensured Gallifreyans were incapable of producing sexually.

  • i would say its either susan ,romana,or his mother

  • it couldnt be romana cos she didnt go back to gallifrey she was suppossed to but she decided not to

  • She is his mother, and she doesn't look confused, she looks straight to the white point star which is the link between Gallifrey and Earth, the link is not just on The Master mind. Moffat's words from DW Confidential.

  • @Vassilj Oh yeah, just a reminder. The Doctor says that the Timelords, became Timelords for long expose to the Time Vortex's energy, that's why his mother still alive 900 years later.

  • wouldnt it be cool if the doctors mother was human (which i belive she not0 and his parents where the master and lucy saxson but the time lords took him away and raised him in an orphange on galifrey so he would never know...

  • Davies has stated he first wrote the character to be the Doctor's mother, but did not identify her so as to leave it open. He has also indicated she could later be legitimately revealed to be Susan, Romana or some other female Time Lord, depending on what later writers want to do with her.

  • Romana; it is posible...

  • River song!

  • @brickfilmfreak nope.cant be.river gave up all her regenaration to save the eleventh from death so if it was river ,she would still be the same person with the same face

  • @darkendragonnight

Was this specifically stated? IDK if I've every come across that fact.

  • @brickfilmfreak

Improbable. When not in Stormcage or w/ The Doctor, on her death, she was "uploaded" to The Library.

Note I state improbable, not impossible.

  • I thought she was the Doc's mom.

  • I think that the woman is his granddaughter susan.

  • @jebp1 but if she was with him travelling, it means she was with him after he made the time-lock so how could she be in the war?

  • @jebp1 It was stated in the transcript the actress was told to act as if she were his mother. It is unclear whether this is Canon to the show or if we just want it to be part of the show.

  • @jebp1 gee I hope so

  • @jebp1 his granddaugher left the tardis but she didnt go back to gallifrey so how could it be cos she had no tardis to go back there

  • @xxkitkatkatexx Exactly why the Doctor needs to FIND her before the Daleks do!

  • @jebp1 or Romana? just a thought :L

  • @jebp1 I want that revealed in series seven oh how i would love it.

  • The writer said she is supposed to be her mother, although is never mentioned. He likes it to leave it to the viewer's imagination.

  • SHE WAS ACTUALLY MENT TO BE THE DOCTORS DAUGHTER JENNY AN OLDER VERSION BUT THEY TOOK THAT IDEA OUT SAID SHE WILL HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH SERIES 6 SHE IS THE DOCTOR MUM

  • RTD Created her as the Doctor's mother and that's what the actor who plays her was told. It was in the paper ;D

  • If those really were the Doctor's parents, it must've been horrible for them to see him like that.... They probably hadn't seen him in centuries (LITTERAL centuries, tough they might have briefly reunited with him during the Time War), and now see the sad, lonely future awaiting their son... The man next to the woman is probably his father - according to the movie, the one he used to watch meteor showers with when he was a kid...

  • i think that the women is his mother

  • I say that she is really high councilor Flavia. She would know where Rasslion's tomb was so it would make sense that she would try to get him to help them brake the time lock. For that to work she would have to let him take complete control of Gallifrey. As for why she is crying is because of her the Doctor is put in a place where he can only kill one person as his last act or so she thinks.

  • 外国人にしては渋い曲好きだね。

  • I like to think it was donna

    just cuz i can :D

  • @kibaxasuma What's with the music? Why can't it be without the music?! I put the thumb's down because it should of been without that crap music.

  • How do you get that the doctor's mother is human...I have been a fan since the 60's and that's a new one on me.

    Best Guess She's his mother.

  • i honestly think the the mysterious woman is the doctor's wife simple reason being is when wilfred asks the doctor who she was the doctor looks straight back at donna in her wedding dress which makes me think that she was somthing very close to what donna was to the doctor or she was the doctor's wife .

  • @FightingForOurSanity, I have not seen the 8th Doctor in a long time, but I am quite sure that the Doctor having human DNA in him is what allowed him access the Eye of Harmony. I remember when I first saw the movie and he said he was human on his mother's side, I was disappointed. I thought they were trying to make him like Spock, who is human on his mother's side.

  • @Biokeeper1411, the 8th Doctor stated that he was part human on his mother's side. Perhaps you are right. It is not his mother that is human but he has a maternal human ancestor?

  • @Monkofmagnesia No one knows if he was joking though. I'm pretty sure most people think he was

  • I think that she is clearly his Mother. Before the Doctor shoots the link he looks at her as if he doesnt want to send her back because he's just found her, but when she gives him the nod to shoot the link its like it was a child obeying their parent. i know that its been speculated that his mother is in fact human, but if the Doctor is a Time Lord andd she is only human then his Father must be a Time Lord. Therefore his mother has a way to Gallifrey, and she hasnt aged because of the timelock.

  • Whoever she is, how does the Doctor recognize her? If she is his Mother, why is she alive? His mother was human and the Doctor is over 900 years old. If she is Susan but regenerated, how does the Doctor recognize her? In fact, when the Doctor does look at her, she does not look back at him. Instead, she just stands there looking confused.

  • @Monkofmagnesia 1) in The Sound of Drums the Doctor said timelords can recognize each other. 2) the woman doesn't look confuse, she nods to the Doctor and then looks around the room and cries

  • @kibaxasuma she isn't looking round the room she is signalling to the doctor. She looks at him and then her eyes flick to someting behind him i.e. the white point star. That's why he suddenly turns round and tells the master to get out the way. she knows him and she doesn't want his last act to be murder. (i think she is Romana but i'm not sure.)

  • @Monkofmagnesia the Doctors mother wasn't human

  • @Monkofmagnesia Who ever said the doctor's mother was human?

  • @Monkofmagnesia The half human line from the movie is not exactly reliable, came out of the blue, was disproved by later episodes and was most likely just a trick to fool the Master. Time Lords can recognize each other, they're psychic and so on - the doctor and the Master always recognized each other, and the Doctor has met old Classmates/Teachers throughouth the classic series that never needed all too long to recognize him.

  • @Monkofmagnesia

Three: The doctor's mother really isn't human, despite what the movie seemed to think.

  • @Monkofmagnesia

    1. The doctor's mother is not human. That was ret coned as the master using a chameleon arch to make the doctor think he was half human.

    2. timelords can recognize other timelords even if they have regenerated.

    3. she was looking at the thing the doctor shoots indicating him to shoot it.

  • @Dstorm20xx

    re: 1; Cool! Source?

  • @recalibration

a doctor who Graphic novel called "The forgotten"

  • @Monkofmagnesia The writer Russell T Davies said that she was the Doctor's mother but was happy for fans to make their own conclusions. She's still alive because like the Master she was resurrected by the Time Lords for the Time War. Its all in The Writer's Tale.

  • @Monkofmagnesia Timelords can recognize eachother by simply seeing them, and his mother wasnt human, The americans just brought this theory on with the movie. Its not official..

  • @Monkofmagnesia I think i read somewhere that Russell T. Davies (might have spelt that wrong) confirmed in an interview that she was the Doctor's Mother

  • @Monkofmagnesia

    Lesson 1: The Doctor lies.

    ;-)

  • They've pretty much hinted it to be his mother, read this: "In the final script, the identity of the Woman is not revealed. In REF: Doctor Who: The Writer's Tale - The Final Chapter, Russell T Davies states that he created the character to be the Doctor's mother and this is what actress Claire Bloom was told when she was cast. During filming, newspapers The Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph announced that Claire Bloom would be portraying the Doctor's mother." which is from the Telegraph.co.uk

  • The White Guardian.

  • grrr, they can't just not give us a straight answer of who she is!!! :LL.

  • its either river song or his mother

  • @DollaCoinVeVo it cant be river she "dies" in the library remember?

  • @spidermanforever1 yea but she is also in his future perhaps he finds a way into the time war and has to leave her on gallifrey

  • @DollaCoinVeVo yeah thats true but the other thing that confuses me is that when wilfred asked who she was at donnas wedding the doctor looked at donna

  • @spidermanforever1 doctordonna maybe? hmm...doctor who always keeps me guessing

  • @DollaCoinVeVo maybe never can tell

  • @spidermanforever1 He looks at Donna's mum, then Donna. I think that implies parenthood or something. She would be his mum. If she was his wife or daughter they would've gotten someone younger just to make it seem, to the audience, possible.

  • @spidermanforever1 He briefly looks at Sylvia first, tough...

  • I think she maybe his grand-daughter Susan.

  • The Doctor said he was half human on his mother's side in the Doctor Who movie in 1996. When Wilf asked who that mysterious woman was, the Doctor looked at Donna. Knowing that Donna is human (but part Time Lord now) she could have married a Time Lord disguised as a human. RTD did refer to the woman as the Doctor's mother, so in theory, Donna could have been that woman.

  • i thinks romana

  • According to an interview with RTD, she's the Doctor's Mother.

  • Maybe shes Romana because when she left it was left open for us to think what happens to her? Or maybe the Doctors mother (could be his dad remember but regenerated into a woman imagine that:)

  • susen

  • @thehumondalek who is susan?

  • @Nonna1997 The doctors grandaughter. Im not sure what happened to her, i dont think she died.

  • perhaps it was riversong! lol

  • hahah this music rocks. reminds me of beatrix kiddo chopping o-ren ishi-ii's head off with hattori hanzos sword (kill bill vol 1 :D)

  • susan foreman IMO.

  • It's his Mother,

    RTD confirmed it.

  • @HaydenWiddows

    Did he ? :O

I think that's her mither but I'm not sure...

  • did he when where did u hear that it just seems so strange to show someone that wasnt in any other episodes not even in the clasic series

  • @sirdaniellynch

In the classic series it wasn't an idea to show his mother but it's his mother in the new series because she was the one who didn't want to go to Earth. She also was in tears when she looked at the Doctor and when Wilf asked who she was he didn't answer.

  • i recon it was his mother.

but when wilf asks him later he looks at donna so who knows

  • In the script, that scene where The Doctor is staring at Donna is described as him being somewhat DISTRACTED, looking at Donna's friends and loved ones celebrating life while he's about to embrace death for the upmpteenth time

  • RTD confirmed in The Writer's Tale that it was his mother

  • i want to say she's his wife or his daughter, because both issues were explored when Donna was his companion.

  • @kibaxasuma i thought that she was his mother but it could have been his wife ot daughter

  • @kibaxasuma What do you mean, the issues of his wife and daughter were explored in series 4? There was nothing of his wife, and he had a genetically-grown daughter around the 60th something century who shall be returning some day.

  • @kibaxasuma She can't be he's wife or daughter. Jenny the woman out of that machine, the doctor's daughter. She has blonde hair like her mother. the Blossom lady is brown. So she couldn't be he's wife or he's daughter she's brown not blonde. The Blossom Lady is probably he's mother.

  • @RosaRawlings626 Time Lords regenerate. He had children before his departure from Gallifrey and that sort of implies a female being involved. But as far as I know, RTD DID intend her to be his mother(and told the actress as much), but left it open on purpose to make the fans speculateXD It could be any Time Lady (Well, every Time Lady exept the Rani - She's evil and the Master would recognize her) we've seen over the course of the series: Susan, Romana, Rodan, Flavia, the Inquisitor....

  • the woman has something to do with donna i think cause later in the episode wilf asked who she was and the doctor looked at donna

  • she was timelord to begin with, so i doubt it would be some relation to donna.

  • its susan

  • Mommy

  • @rohgenextfan

    "Are you my _____ ?"

Am watching it again right now! XD

  • She might be the white eternal or maybe one of the prophets of the Cybil line. Maybe she is the Doctor's wife.
